I have been diagnosed with grade 1 Non specific type breast cancer today with dcis in situ. Lymph nodes clear from ultrasound.

I am massively worried. has anyone had any experience of this?

Hello x I have my oncology appt this pm at 4.15! Hoping to know what’s next and if the oncotype test is back yet
hope you’re ok?

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 19/01/2026 15:23

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!
how long ago was your results, last Monday wasn’t it? How are you feeling?

I’m ok still feel in limbo really.
I’m going to try and access some therapy via the breast care clinic I think. I’m not back at work yet I don’t feel ready mentally. Keep pretending all is fine and well yet I’m not at all.

My aunt has just been diagnosed with this, he is having a double mastectomy out of choice, with implants replacing them. She wants it all gone, and with hope of no chance it returning. She’s 60 x

I hope your aunt is ok, sometimes I wish I’d have pushed for mastectomy with less chance of reoccurrence x

My appt was yesterday but was cancelled because my results not back from America yet. I’m a bit frustrated but what can I do?!

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 20/01/2026 16:12

@LoudSnoringDogthats rubbish, were you given a time frame? . I was told I would be telephoned within 2 weeks with my oncotype results.

That happened to me with oncotype and also HER2 (london). Frust5, but both mine were negative in the end.

No was just told that I would have an oncology appt. The Dr called me at lunchtime to say that my oncotype test wasn’t back yet but he was expecting it this week so made sense to push appt to next Monday.

LoudSnoringDog · 26/01/2026 16:21

I had my oncology appointment today
All good. Oncotype test was 14 so don’t need chemo. 10 days of radiotherapy in 2-3 weeks and tamoxifen.

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/01/2026 17:48

@LoudSnoringDogthats excellent news! Oh I’m so bloody pleased for you!!!
Im still waiting for mine. I hope mine is a favourable as yours.

How have you found the radiotherapy? How many sessions are you having?

FcukBreastCancer · 27/01/2026 13:26

I'm having 15. I'm tired, but have my period so might be why (had to stop hormones on diagnosis).
Sounds like you are doing better emotionally now? I hope that's the case anyway

I’m ok now it’s all a bit clearer. I had to stop my contraceptive pill so my periods have been awful and draining too!

FcukBreastCancer · 27/01/2026 18:41

Oh solidarity. I used contraceptive to control my awful periods for the last 9 years.
Make sure uou take iron as the periods get worse if you get anemic.
Thankfully this month seems a bit lighter for me.

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 28/01/2026 16:31

Good news over here this afternoon- score was 13 so no chemo needed!

OP posts:
berryberi · 28/01/2026 17:52

In situ is good. After more time and spread it's classed invasive. It takes time in the lab to find if it's hormone sensitive or not and that is a deciding factor in types of treatment. I would say, layman breast cancer survivor, you caught it reeeeeal early.

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 28/01/2026 19:52

@LoudSnoringDogyeah, 3weeks worth, 5 x a week.
waiting for an appointment with oncology, could be up to 4 weeks for that, then the next bit can start.
have you got a date for your radio?

OP posts:
LoudSnoringDog · 28/01/2026 20:39

@ohdoriswheresthesalad no not yet. Oncologist said it will be about 3 weeks time

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 28/01/2026 21:56

@LoudSnoringDogdid you have bloods or anything at your oncology appointment? Apparently there is bloods, a scan and a tattoo needed before starting?
