Just wondering i know there was a thread on this ages ago.

Just wondering if any one else had booked to go.

Will be my first festival - just hoping the weather improves.

Missed the comedy but wish I had been there.

Glad you enjoyed the Rose - it's very nice isn't it?

Dollytwat · 07/06/2010 18:33

ooh yes the rose was lovely, I filled up my water bottles with it so I didn't have to keep going back!

Yes we need to have something that identifies us next time, just can't think what! Is there a MN cap? If not can we have one please?

Katz · 07/06/2010 20:05

we're planning on going back next year but just need to wait for a couple of dates of things to be announced.

Didn't get to the comedy but would have loved to - was it child friendly?

Have just done the class bear's diary - i'm offically wonder mum as She got to meet Mr Tumble and get his autograph!!!

The comedy was not what you would call suitable for children but the ones I was with loved it. Ds's answer to what is the worst swear word you know was "I'm not allowed to say" but that is not the word the comedian announced to the audience! I am a very bad mother and am quite relaxed about these things but would probably get totally flamed if there was a thread on this topic.

DS and his friends also thought Mr Tumbel was awesome so they did get the whole Wychwood experience! I am impressed that you queued for Mr Tumble's autograph Katz. The queue was massive.

So what bands did you like? I loved Beth Jeans Houghton, The Epstein, 6 Day Riot and Goldheart Assembly. Also enjoyed Pauline Black, The South and Toumani Diabate amonst the headliners.

Katz · 07/06/2010 21:12

We were 6th in the queue - we went over to the meet and greet tent as he was singing the goodbye song so didn't have to queue long. Saw it when we came out and it was huge!

Loved the South, the Levellers and Lightening Seeds. Not sure which other bands we saw! kinda drifted to watch the main stage. My girls loved Nick Cope who sang about socks!

I got to the Pimms bus at about 6.15 and looked about for likely suspects and small girls in red/black witches hats.
Then I stepped next door to barefoot but couldn't see anyone likely there either. I decided you were all hiding and laughing after deciding I didn't look cool enough, and had to console myself with a glass of white. The rose was a little sweet for my taste but the white kept me going for much of the weekend!

I met Justin Currie... I saw Del Amitri 7 times in my yoof and was ever so slightly in love with him. He was a lovely chap and was really nice to DS.

Twas a good weekend, lots of great bands. Just wish I'd met y'all.

DastardlyandSmugly · 08/06/2010 09:23

We queued too. We weren't quite as fast as Katz but we didn't have to wait too long.

I wasn't there until the Sat but spent most of the day sitting drinking in the barefoot tent wearing a green dress and watching the kids bounce off the Barefoot chairs.

The Barefoot stand seemed to go down well. Think their festival strategy might be quite successful.

DastardlyandSmugly · 08/06/2010 09:24

Oh and I had loads of fun dancing to Happy Mondays with DS on my shoulders!

shockers · 08/06/2010 09:44

I thought they were great!

I was wondering how they would be after seeing Sean Ryder on something a few weeks ago... he looked as though he might expire at any second.

DastardlyandSmugly · 08/06/2010 10:05

Agreed I also thought they were great (although I had my rose tinted specs on by that point).

KnottyLocks · 08/06/2010 16:09

Sorry to miss everyone. We were shovelling food into starving boys at 6pm after a delayed setting up camp. Wandered past the Pimms bus around 7pm and had a look, but as I have no idea what you look like and wasn't brave enough to march up to strangers, I had cider instead .

We had a lovely time: such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Sat eve picnicing in front of the main stage, munching on Goan seafood curry, drinking chilled cider, listening to Pauline Black, Lightning Seeds et all while the boys stuffed their little filthy faces with pizza was a highlight.

MayorNaze · 08/06/2010 16:16

my dad went to this. it sounded marvellous

maybe next year...

Katz · 08/06/2010 16:33

the Goan Fish Curry was so yummy!

DastardlyandSmugly · 08/06/2010 16:34

Oh the Goan fish curry was amazing. The kids loved the mash shack too.

Katz · 08/06/2010 18:47

my dd2 loved the mash shack - she shared my breakfast one morning not sure how much i actually got to eat!

DD1 like the pasta.

We also had a stove and cooked them super noodles for the first time ever and they thought they were great and are now requesting them at home!

Mmmmm.... Goan fish curry! I liked the Caldine, in fact I could just eat one now.

stripeyknickersspottysocks · 12/06/2010 21:08

I had a Goan fish curry as well, very yummy.

Shockers we must just have missed you as we stayed at the Pimms bus till just before 6:15 and then I started feeling a bit paranoid/daft and we legged it.
