Just 'cause I am nosey.

Okay I will start it off. I am going:

I like to have something to look forward to, can you tell?

Now please (please) tell me/us all where you are going, or even where you would like to go, you might convince me to book just one more campsite!

Ivy, You've booked more campsites than me

Ivykaty44 · 18/04/2010 15:42

I've already been away though - my dad does long stay at val verde so it works out £10 per night so we flew out, there are quite a few english, dutch and german down for the sun in the winter, mostly caravans and campervans.

Onyl really have the witsun week sorted for now

ATinofBiscuits · 18/04/2010 15:46

You are spoilt rotten, lucky you

I am sitting on my hands so I don't book another camping holiday.

We spent a few days here earlier this week and have rebooked to go back the first May weekend. Have also booked the sunshine and warm temperatures too- although may share some if you're good!!

Exogenesis · 18/04/2010 16:06

Right before i choose where to go I need to book the tme off work. Thinking late july or maybe late August Oh And i best start looking for a new tent mine is now ummm well its dead I fear for my DD and the saftey of others.

sammac · 18/04/2010 16:11

Forgot to mentionhere in July. Still working on other places and dates.

Wiggletastic · 18/04/2010 18:19

Misled? Really? I can suffer them for a weekend but not a whole week. Maybe we could venture a bit further, possibly the Lake District, surely there are no midges there?

ebayaddict · 18/04/2010 18:20

We are hoing to Canterbury c&cc site for 9 nights at the start of the summer hols here

Then we have a week at River Dart mid August http://www.riverdart.co.uk/Camping-Touring/camping-a-touring.html here

Short breaks when Dh is working will probably be at graffham c&cc club site, scotts farm at witterings, wellington country park and maybe a couple of the little certified sites.

We are supposed to be going to Florida gulf coast for May half term but if the ash situation continues and stuffs up staff travel (DH works for an airline) we will probably head down to the Vendee for some camping in our own tent.

Not camping for October hald term but going here with friends here

In case you can't tell I live for holidays. The house can be falling down around us but we would rather go away than buy new windows or boring stuff like that

LadyBiscuit · 18/04/2010 18:24

We have just come back from a glorious weekend here. Beautiful weather, lovely site and cream teas on the farm - result

shockers · 18/04/2010 18:39

Bottles with the top chopped off and put back on upside down with a bit of orange squash will trap wasps.

ATinofBiscuits · 18/04/2010 20:09

Shockers, the bottle top is off, and orange squash in bottom I get, I need to put the top back on upsidedown? I can't visualise what you mean...

Exogenesis, I have booked this Longthorns for late August, if you wanna join me.

I promise I am nice, sane (apart from being mad about camping), and I'll help you put your tent up (it's my favourite part!)

LadyBiscuit (love the name)

I think I am getting twitchy, these thread is pushing me over the edge. I wanna book another campsite.

shockers · 18/04/2010 20:41

Take a plastic bottle and cut the top off... about 3" plus screwy bit... turn it upside down and put it back in the opening where it used to be with the screwy bit facing into the bottle. The wasps will crawl down to get the orange but won't be able to get back out.

We went to Brittany and saw these everywhere (twas a bad year for wasps). They look pretty disgusting when filled with wasps though!

ATinofBiscuits · 18/04/2010 20:47

OOOHHhhh! I get ya now, I shall be stocking up on water bottles.

Thanks shockers.

We are going here at half term and here with friends for a weekend in July. Need to plan a few more trips I think - we only started camping last summer and loved it!

ATinofBiscuits · 18/04/2010 21:14

Tikka, that Cornwall looks like the dog's boll**ks, have you been there before?

OP posts:
Tikkabillajive · 18/04/2010 21:36

No but it looks lovely doesn't it! I'm having a bit of a panic about the distance though (we are in Somerset so it will be about 4-5 hours). We only have a tiny car (plus roofbox) and last year on both our camping trips I had to travel with my feet up on the dashboard (in the passenger seat, not driving obviously!) as we had stuffed so much in my footwell - which was fine for a couple of hours but not all the way to Cornwall!

ATinofBiscuits · 18/04/2010 21:57

Oh I want a roofbox for this year, taking 3 'not so little'DC's gear was a struggle last year, I always imagine it's a extraordinary game of Jenga!

OP posts:
Tikkabillajive · 18/04/2010 22:19

Yes, a roofbox is a brilliant thing to have - ours was an emergency buy last year when we realised it was either that or wear all our clothes and not take the tent!

ATinofBiscuits · 18/04/2010 22:34

Tikka I imagine you dressed like Joey in Friends with all of Chandler's clothes Friends clip

Some of the best camping purchases are the emergency ones I find.

Tikkabillajive · 18/04/2010 22:35

That is my favourite ever Friends episode!

ATinofBiscuits · 18/04/2010 22:37

Ah, a woman of taste and class

OP posts:
Tikkabillajive · 18/04/2010 23:08

Longthorns looks brilliant - will you let us know what it's like when you've been? The dcs would LOVE to be woken up by monkey noises!

Numberfour · 19/04/2010 20:56

Tin, we have just booked for South Lytchett! When are you going there? Or is that asking TMI???
