After vowing never to go camping EVER AGAIN....

the kbears have been invited on a three day camping trip with some friends and we are considering going.

My question... is camping ever worth risking a marriage for?

Wet and Windy Weymouth 2007 was HELL.

It's not going to rain next week is it? IS IT?

No it will be fine

My next questions are

1. Can I be arsed to spend my whole day tomorrow unpacking/sorting/repacking the trailer?

1. Will I find someone that can fit a towbar before Tuesday? (we have a different car since we went camping last).

1. Will we remember how to pitch the sodding tent? I doubt it.

I thinking "no bear, just go shopping with your mum tomorrow, get your hair done and spend next week lazing round the house letting the kids laze around the house".

CONVINCE ME PEOPLE

Just take lots of wine ..always made our camping trips more bearable

but they won't laze around

They'll argue over the DS games
They'll complain that they're bored
They'll insist you bake stuff

trips to the loo at 3 in the morning
freezing at night

Fresh air. No time schedules. Plenty of beer. Feeling of being worthy for giving kids chance to be kids.

Right, god help us, I have booked the tow bar fitter for saturday morning, I have booked the campsite.

Now I have to do all the other stuff!! I'm off into the garage now to unpack the camping stuff and count tent pegs! LOL

I dont think I've cunted a peg in my liefef PMSL (but then we take a variety so we are OK depending on what terrain we find on arrival)

Oh Peachy, I think doing that to a tent peg is probably a step too far into the realms of being a happy camper.

Mind you those special pegs for keeping your tent secure in sandy terrain have got some girth on them.

I've just metchecked the Lakes where we are headed on monday. Things are improving although a little on the moist side still. This is an improvement on two days ago when there was SLEET forecast with overnight temps of 1 degree.

Not yet, coming with us Saturday.... Dh was amde redundant a few weeks back so we haven't been away much (and we had to do a rugby thing for mayday) but he now has a confirmed place at Uni so breathing more easily again LOL
