We are heading off with a group of 16 friends on Sunday to the same place we have been for the last 3 years www.wellington-country-park.co.uk/camping-and-caravanning/.

Bit boring of us but the kids love it there! We will be staying for 4 nights and tend to spend all our time in the country park as their is so much to do.

Praying for good weather but not expecting much as it always bloody rains when we go camping!

Anyone else?

We're off to Wellington Country Park on Monday with friends and have also been for the last three years. We'll probably recognise you! We also spend our whole time in the country park, which makes it a cheap, relaxing holiday. Really looking forward to it.

beckym8678 we have the Palamos and she's great - lovely and cool in the heat of France for the last years and the awing is big enough to sit under if you need to.
Check out the tips on ukcamping re pitching tips - insert the main pole first in the middle having first laid out & zipped the groundsheet to the main tent. The awning poles are a bit(!) tight to insert so make sure you've inserted the legs into the canvas sleeves before you click them into the arched section.

have a great time in your new tent - we love ours :)

We are going to the edge of the Dalby forest camping this weekend. Very excited not been camping in several years. Hoping to get back into it.

Thumbcat · 23/07/2014 21:33

No, but I wish I did have 15 friends who camped. I've converted a few into campers though, as DH do camping and I have to have someone to drink wine with.

Thumbcat · 23/07/2014 21:34

DH doesn't do camping

Stinkyfeet · 23/07/2014 21:41

We're off to Dorset on Saturday with our new Yosemite Falls tent - can't wait to try it out!!

Have considered Wellington for a short break, so good to hear it's worthwhile.

CrockedPot · 23/07/2014 21:43

Us! 10 days in Cornwall, no EH, therefore no bloody x box, no ds! Just the four of us, cooking on a camp fire, reading, games and talking! Praying to every god going that this weather lasts, can't wait! Happy camping everyone x

rowna · 23/07/2014 21:46

Wellington is quite near us but I've never been camping there. Am intrigued now! We're off to Dorset this weekend with our tent. It's saying it's going to be hot.

CiderGlider · 23/07/2014 21:48

We're off to Bank Farm, Gower from Monday to Thursday with DS and DD. Weather is looking promising! Can't wait.

MrsCosmopilite · 23/07/2014 21:55

We're going here for the weekend. I am packing my dancing feet.

KnittingRocks · 23/07/2014 21:57

We're off to the New Forest on Saturday!

Wellington is just down the road from us nikki, lovely place Grin.

lk26 · 23/07/2014 22:00

We are near the gower ciderglider and it's been glorious here. Not a cloud in the sky. Supposed to last till August :)

GothMummy · 23/07/2014 22:05

Im going camping next Tuesday in in the Peak District!
With Ds aged 8 and Dd age 3 and the dog. Husband decided to stay home with the guinea pigs!

gallicgirl · 23/07/2014 22:09

I'm heading up to the Peak District with DD. Unfortunately DP can't come but there will be plenty of other family members around to off load the toddler onto.

taking just a 3 man tent and very little kit. Hoping for sunshine and the use of everyone else's cooker, table etc. We don't do camping so reluctant to shell out on more stuff. This seems to be becoming an annual event though so might have to take the plunge.

CrockedPot · 23/07/2014 22:35

Just realised ds means a different thing on mumsnet! I am taking my sons, but not their game boys thingys Angry!

Lovecat · 23/07/2014 23:24

Off to Bedgebury on Friday for a long weekend. First camp of the year, cannot wait! I have my gins in tins chilling as I type :o

rockybalboa · 23/07/2014 23:34

ViviPru: going to Manor Farm, East Runton. Been recommended by two friends plus the Cool Camping With Kids book so am looking forward to it!

MsRyanGosling · 23/07/2014 23:38

I've been to Manor Farm in Cromer, absolutely loved it, even when it put down a months worth of rain in one day and gale force winds. 2010 I think?

Really nice site, really good showers and kids play area. Would definitely reccomend !

MeganChips · 23/07/2014 23:44

We're going to a cheap and cheerful site near Brighton this weekend with some friends.

We have a lot of alcohol and am looking forward to letting the kids go feral in the sun.

ViviPru · 24/07/2014 07:13

Rocky Manor Farm looks great and was somewhere we considered for last weekends' trip but sadly had to rule out because of no fire rule Sad. If campfires aren't essential to a persons trip though then this looks like a dream site.

Packing the car now. Three nights in Lyme Regis can't wait Smile Smile
