Can I have the code too please? I've had a 40l in my basket for weeks dithering about buying it.

Check your inbox MrsPnut, code on its way, as is my new 25l tangerine icey-tek, due to arrive TOMORROW EEEEEEEEEEEEE! Had the good fortune to visit one in the flesh this morning, which promptly halted all prevarication. It's just so obvious that you need an icey-tek once you've seen one, a thing of true beauty! The orange/tangerine is lined with palest blue, aaaaaah...

SalomeD if you peer very closely you'll see a 40l orange specimen in there somewhere blatant excuse for a tent picture
Tis fabulous, but then my taste in camping kit is somewhat colourful. Grin

Anyone who has the 40l and the Aussie gel packs, are they a good fit and which way do they fit? We were skinflints and refused to pay £25 for a couple of freezer blocks but our blocks take up soooo much space. Could I have the free delivery code as well please, just in case, you understand...

To the left of the person standing under the tarp Hmm?

Lovely looking site and bell tent - where were you camping?

I cracked a couple of months ago reading these threads and bought my 40l tangerine Icey Tek. I would call it more of a tomato red tbh, would have preferred mango but they don't seem to have it. You can def stand a 4 point carton of milk up. They are brilliant as everyone has said.

Have pm'd you Nonny.

My gorgeous hunk of tangerine dream is here already! That's speedy...

Can anyone enlighten me as to what's so great about the gel packs? I was too stingy to buy any, as I already have these which I find work well, but maybe the Aussie gel packs are to thermos as icey-tek is to a cold bag..?

Got my 40l yesterday, it's HUMONGOUS, wowzers.

Special award for dp who did all the faffing about with measuring tapes and spent ages convincing me we needed this one not the 25l, when it came he said 'but that's ridiculously big, how are we going to get it in the car?' HmmGrin Dunno mate, that's your problem now Grin

Got two large blocks and they fit perfectly at either side, wondering if I should have got one more as a divider.....

I phoned and asked about the ice packs, they said they contain industrial grade gel that stays frozen for far longer than commercially available stuff.

I am currently freezing one and a similar sized sloshy normal one to see the tone difference in defrosting once placed in the iceytech*

*experiment based on very little science, just gives me an excuse to play.

Thanks for that becky (saved £6 so £25 worth of ice packs here I come...Wink )

We have the same or similar to the ones you linked there, they're fine really but ours don't quite fit along the sides so there's wasted space and it makes my OCD twitch Grin
I'd love to hear they work loads better, plenty of ammunition to throw at dh who thinks it's silly money just for camping perfection

Salome yes that's it there, good eyesight! Campsite is the wonderful Abbot Park Farm in Cumbria.

Right, ten hours into my highly scientific experiment, both packs were pre-frozen for 24 hours and have been in the other wise empty icytech for ten hours.

Both are still frozen solid :)

So glad I found this thread as I had just talked myself out of an icey-tek but reading this its obvious we need one. Is the MN consensus that the 40L is huge but necessary to stand your wine upright? And two gel packs? And if anyone has a code i'd love one....

Fannydabbydozey · 04/07/2014 22:40

Oh I hate you all.

I now need an icy tek.

22 hours in (impatient) cheaper pack is partially frozen, partially sloshy, still very cold. Iceytech pack is still frozen solid :)

jamietart, you can indeed stand a bottle of wine in the 40, out was the first thing Dp checked.

I am unsure of code etiquette as they are being pm'ed, not sure if it is okay to share the one I was sent ?

Thanks Gobblers, have been on tenterhooks! (well almost). So, may have to use that code again to get some icey-aussie packs...

Have pm'ed everyone who's asked for the code, as I figure it's ok to pass on to as many 'friends' on this board as want it (delivery note says that's what it's for) but maybe not publish in a visible-from-google way..?

34 hours in.

Cheap pack, totally defrosted.

Iceytech pack, STILL frozen solid.

Am deeply impressed both with the pack and the box, bearing in mind that the box is otherwise empty, I am expecting great things when it is full of frozen shit.

I was planning on using mine for shed loads of beer milk and bacon but whatever takes your fancy gobblers :o

Last thrilling update, 48 hours and the iceytech pack has defrosted, am quite glad tbh, starting to think it was manufactured from witchcraft and polar bears.

Ummm frozen shit, not the best turn of phrase under the circumstances Grin

I've been super impressed with your Icey-tek testing,Gobblers, and I'm now thinking one of these would be perfect when we go camping in a couple of weeks. Is there any chance one of you could pm me the delivery code too. Grin
