so I am fed up with the rest of MN (this whole mamazon shite really is the ,last straw), so I am assuming that if any of you are trolling you are showing extraordinary persistence by delving into the thrills of iceytec and are worth chatting to.

So anyway, hi, I am SeaShells, I have 2 dc and have been camping and trapsing through the Great Outdoors all my life. I hang out here as my love of camping is more a love of the countryside and life, and you lot have a similar outlook.

I tried on some Merrels, and some Keans, and the other 'pretty' laydeez walking sandals by teva (so many in pink ffs.....hey outdoor footwear manufActurers we are grown up women here, no longer are we swayed by the allure of pink, give me a GREEN sandal you bastards)

Ahem

Yes as I was saying. Tried loads on, did the walky shoe shop walk but ALSO up and down the nobbly outdoor shop ramp walk and the terra fis were just so much more comfortable than anything else. They give you a little bounce. So yes they are very ugly but who gives a shit when your shoes are replacing lost energy reserves.

hahaha ah I warned you.

Now imagine those with my new death socks underneath.

Oh yes. I will be smashing all sorts of sartorial records this summer.

Actually compared to Slubs these are like girly woos shoes. I feel ashamed now.

Like those shoes.
We will be staying here droomparken.nl at the site Schoneveld.
Already getting excited, albeit the excitement is tempered with the knowledge that I have to have a biopsy before we go and DH is in the 'kok.

Has there ever been a camping meet up?! I keep seeing threads over the years but did it ever happen? Who went and id it all get girl guide competitive or did you just get drunk whilst the children went feral?

in the kok means DH is in Bangkok while I am at home with DD in the Twerp antwerp. Sorry, all my bits are odd. DD is on the pC that I normally use and this is a Belgian one with the symbols in the wrong place.
I'd be up for a feral kids camping experience.

Yes, sorry Kreecher. I really hope all is ok and that camping would be the well-deserved relax.

Camping meetup. I suspect it won't happen this year (nettletea's offer very kind, but possibly a bit difficult to arrange at short notice, I would have thought). I'd love to next year. If enough of us commit, I bet we might even be able to exclusively book one of the smaller sites like Welsummer.

Hmm, actually, except if any of you are planning to get girly guidy / girly / guidy... Wink I'm boring as hell, so love a glass of wine but will probably sit looking at the campfire talking rubbish vs having a naked dance around the bonfire. For that, you should all be extremely grateful, it's not a pretty picture and no guarantee that years' worth of therapy would even make a difference.

I think some people had a type of meetup up north / south / somewhere far, but on a bigger site. Can't remember, I think Peachy went, might be worth asking. If small site, we'd need to book a year in advance. As it is, the nicest places are booked that far anyway, it's madness really.

I would come to a meetup like a shot! Any news on the decathlon shopping? I simply cannot buy anything else this year but will live vicariously through others.

I am currently on a coach with 45 5 year olds after a school trip and would do anything to be sitting outside my tent overlooking the sea with a glass of wine and a RL chat with you lot. Sigh.

can anyone do a weekend in early august in kent?

I am willing to let DS go feral if I get to drink wine in peace. Some places have overspill fields (with wasp nests if you are unlucky )

I live in the famous Decathlon UK vacuum. There is not one within 2 hours drive of where I live.

We have a Go Outdoors, how does that compare?

Oh I wish I was sitting by my tent looking at the sea too. I'm having a sad moment as my mates are all packed up to go camp near the beach after school and I am stuck in all weekend with the spotty four year old of doom Sad

Fennel · 01/07/2011 14:58

We are also in a Decathlon vacuum, several hours drive from one, but "luckily" our 250 mile trip to visit the grandparents regularly takes us past the Stockport store, so we nip in there.

And if you are going to France or Spain they seem to be on almost every junction.

I can do any august weekend ATM as I have Fridays off :)
