so I am fed up with the rest of MN (this whole mamazon shite really is the ,last straw), so I am assuming that if any of you are trolling you are showing extraordinary persistence by delving into the thrills of iceytec and are worth chatting to.

So anyway, hi, I am SeaShells, I have 2 dc and have been camping and trapsing through the Great Outdoors all my life. I hang out here as my love of camping is more a love of the countryside and life, and you lot have a similar outlook.

Hmm, wonder if / how much tarp will be from Obelink? Seeing the speed of your current deliveries, it would probably reach you earlier anyway! Hold on, let me see if I can find anything.

Report
MisSalLaneous · 30/06/2011 23:38

out of stock unfortunately.

Lovecat · 30/06/2011 23:46

Yeah, I'd had a look at Obelink, as I have an obliging Dutchman in our office, whose girlfriend lives about 30mins from the shop, and he'd offered to bring it back for the cost of the extra baggage charge, but yes, sadly out of stock :(

I think a tarp was about the limit of what he was prepared to carry on board, mind you...:o

Can I join, I don't want to do any of that wine drinking or pretending to go to the loo but I'll make you jealous.
Me and DD will be going camping a couple of times in the next fortnight. DH is in Thailand so we are all alone.
I think we will start off in Dombergh and then head up toward the Hague. Weather for next week is predicted to be scorchio and our car is vast [smug]
I was in Decathlon yesterday, I really wanted to buy a new tent but it would be bonkers to do that. We are moving to England next month so the one we have now will have to do.

Kreecher v Envy of your trip! Now sit down for a Brew and stop being so smug Grin

ah gwan kreecher, pretend to something camperish in the pointy brackets. It's almost just like being there [suspension of belief]

Trip sounds great, well done for resisting the allure of Decathlon.

Seashells poor you. I can't bring myself to do the tea picture hope you have a rl one.

Seriously, I am thinking of booking somewhere for me and DD for Monday/Tuesday. I found out this morning that Belgian schools broke up so I want to make sure we get somewhere lovely.

Morning all. I was only there for the beginning of this lovely fireside chat but it was most enjoyable. Great thread SeaShells.

kreecher are there not lots of municipal campsites like in France, where you can pretty much just turn up and there will be a space somewhere?

Pffffff

You lot are late camping risers, have already had protein shake, done my crunches and been for a run.

I just printed out my UK Campsite virtual brochure as we are ad-hoc camping for latter part of our holiday.

Does this make me a wholesome camping dullard?

Now to find the perfect comfy yet not overly ugly walking-type sandal. I want the merrell lotta ones but £70? I could buy most of a Cobb for that.

We should have a camping meet-up at Welsummer where we can all inspect kit and compare our gadgets. It would be like research, in a wine drinking way.

MisSalLaneous · 01/07/2011 13:18

YY glitter, Welsummer's lovely, we should.

Oh, and you two are mad - all walking sandals are ugly as hell. Embrace the gruesomeness.

slubber not sure about the municipal campsites. We happened to be in Domburg a couple of months ago and found this lovely place with an indoor pool. Since I don't go in the sea it is ideal.

Both kids are sleeping and I really should wake the toddler but I'm loving the peace and quiet Blush I'm watching tennis and organising a camping trip in august and ds1 has been a nightmare awake today (he looks angelic asleep)

We should do a meet up, but are running out of weekend this summer already-not sure if nettletea's camp at the bh will come together, I hope so!

lol at contraceptive name change. Site with pool sounds good, do they have a website?

Glitter I can advise on the comfy and yet ultra ugly walking sandal. The Teva terra-fi. Man theh are the most heinous things I have ever put upon my feet and that is saying something as I own a pink pair of crocs.

But

Comfort.....ahhhh.... sweet fancy Moses they are comfortable. In fact they are so comfortable and padded with shock absorbing heels that your feet and legs actually become younger when you wear them.

After only 3 weeks I still have the upper body of a 36 year old but the legs of a 24 year old.

They are that good.

I'll have a look for a website. I am sure they do. We've got paper brochures. DD is a sucker for something to read. Even in Dutch.
As we came back from the supermarket she had started planning. We need to take the tent and sleeping matresses but probably not the sleeping bags as it is so hot. There was a never ending list (big car). The most important thing though is the kite Confused. We bought it a month or so ago and it's never been out of the packet.
She did tell me it would be sensible to pack the car on Monday night. such wisdom in a 10 YO.

Kites are quite important to be fair. you never know when you might need a bit of camping kite action.

She sounds very wise indeed.
