corfe castle tomorrow for a week.
Just packed the car, and cant fit in the double duvetSad
Just how cold is it going to be?

hpsaucy · 27/05/2011 21:32

we are off to Mundesley, Norfolk on Monday so lets hope the weather would have improved by them.

We have stayed a deers glade, its a really nice quiet site.

FeelingOld · 27/05/2011 22:01

hpsaucy - have you been to mundsley before? We have, we love the beach there.....we are going to east runton which is just up the road. You never know we might pass each other in Cromer and not realise Smile

Bumperlicioso · 27/05/2011 22:12

Britchcombe farm in Oxfordshire, just for two nights, but first trip with both DDs (3 & 8mo) eek! We arent seasoned campers, but today we just bought some extra large sleeping bags in the sale in Mountain Warehouse which I am actually rather looking forward to cozying up in :)

hpsaucy · 27/05/2011 22:12

yeah we went last year aswell, we love it i will be in cromer at some point buying my crab Grin

Grockle · 27/05/2011 22:24

Look at all of us heading to Norfolk! My double duvet is in a vaccuum ba and is definitely coming. With piles of blankets too and warm socks. I don't like being cold!

We live not far from Corfe, Zanzibar. Which site are you going to? We camped there at Easter at it was perfect. They had a viking re-enactment which was amazing.

Strangely I come from east Anglia, looks like we are swapping locations.
Staying at norden farm with dog. My first trip to west country, but with north Norfolk and southwold on our doorstep we tend to camp close to home.

Grockle · 27/05/2011 23:03

We do the same, zanz1bar - the furthest we go is about 30 miles, so norfolk is a big trip! Norden is lovely. Have fun. Wave when you pass us - we're the ones in the car filled to bursting with s small boys clinging to the roof Grin

Should be passing you on the m25 by about midday.
Best beach is holkham beach, miles and miles and miles of sand as far as the eye can see. Have fun.
I'm looking forward to some hills.

fivegomadindorset · 27/05/2011 23:09

You don't live that far from me then Grockle.

Grockle · 27/05/2011 23:19

No, five, not very far really. I think I know where you live (not in a stalkery way, promise Grin). I'm sure you've mentioned where you live somewhere on here.

I love the saltmarshes, Zanz. I think we might be too early for samphire though. That used to be the highlight of our annual trips to blakeney.

Near Conwy on our first trip in years, complete with big tent and small children. I'm bricking it!

musicposy · 29/05/2011 22:24

Walton on Thames on Wednesday through to Sunday. Only 40-50 miles from us as we live down on South Coast, but DD1 has skating rehearsals in Guildford so we had to be within driving distance.

There are no loos there. It's our first time with no loos (well, we bought a bucket camping toilet). Will have to see how we cope!

AutumnWitch · 29/05/2011 22:32

Norfolk for us too - Deepdale as I saw a recommendation on here somewhere.

Will discover tomorrow whether the mice have taken a liking to any of our stuff this winter - last year they took out three airbeds Angry

musicposy · 29/05/2011 22:53

We had mice take out a camping chair last year. DH didn't realise until he opened it out on holiday and all these chewed bits fluttered to the ground. Luckily we each have our own chair and they had only eaten his Grin

Grockle · 30/05/2011 07:30

And it is pissing down here, has been all night and doesn't look like it is going to let up any time soon.

sphil · 30/05/2011 09:01

We didnt go - stupid cable connecting trailer to van has broken.
However......it is raining very hard......I am in a warm house and not perched on the edge of the Atlantic.....
Every cloud....Grin

RantyMcRantpants · 30/05/2011 23:56

Aw! sorry about that Sphil. Hope you manage to get away soon.

We had bright sunshine this afternoon after a miserable morning and it is going to be lovely tomorrow as well apparantly. DH and DC1 will be surfing and the small ones and I will be building sand castles, rock pooling, body boarding and just generally dapping about. Lufferly :)

sphil · 31/05/2011 08:40

Yes lovely day this morning. We are off to the Wye Valley for the day. In fact, although I love camping, the van is just as good for day trips - I love being able to stop where you like, make a cup of tea, picnic etc. We're thinking Chepstow castle in the morning, picnic at Tintern Abbey for lunch, walk along Wye/Offas Dyke in afternoon, then home. Then tomorrow down to coast for similar activities to you today (minus surfing as East Devon coast not known for giant waves Grin).

Vajazzler · 01/06/2011 09:16

We're taking our first camping trip this weekend at hardwick park in oxfordshire. I'm teriified!

5ofus · 01/06/2011 11:37

We're off to Cheddar Mendip Heights for the weekend. We're a little amateurish too having only started camping last year but we're all really looking forward to it. Got lots of new kit to try out this time.

Luckily it seems the weather will be good Grin

RantyMcRantpants · 01/06/2011 23:15

Sounds like a good time all round then Sphil :) Hope it all went well.

Vajazzler, you will soon be hooked Grin

Have a good weekend 5ofus. Have fun trying out new kit.

Funtimewincies · 02/06/2011 13:11

1st trip with the kids this w/e and I'm looking at all the stuff and wondering how it's all going to fit into the car Confused.

Is it illegal to strap the children to the roof? It's either that or leave the wine at home Hmm.
