DD is only 4 weeks so i'm not expecting it soon but just wondered out of curiosity when it's likely to happen.

DS was ff and slept through at 8 weeks which i know was early. Do ff babies sleep longer sooner?

dd1 - about 7-8 weeks
ds1 - TEN MONTHS
dd2 - can't remeber too stressed about ds1
ds2 - about 12 weeks

skidoodle · 02/06/2009 21:33

8 weeks (from around 11pm until the early morning, maybe 7 or so)

shootfromthehip · 02/06/2009 21:33

My DD slept though from 7 til 7 at 8 mths. DS slept through 7 til 7 from 4 and 1/2 mths. They were both exclusively BF.

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 02/06/2009 21:33

What do you count as sleep through?

DS slept through (went to cot about 7, had dream feed when I went to bed and then woke up about 7) at about 3 months.

DD was sadly not the same. She started sleeping through reliably about 2 and a half. Years rather than months. She was bf until about 11 months.

StealthPolarBear · 02/06/2009 21:34

Just starting to now (8ish till 5ish) and he's 2
that's years btw
Can't believe the answers so far - you lucky lot!

Marthasmama · 02/06/2009 21:34

ds - 8 months
dd - nearly 8 months and wakes up three times a night to feed. I am very tired...

thisisyesterday · 02/06/2009 21:34

ds1- about 4/5 months
ds2- 18m (he stopped breastfeeding at 16m, but still woke at night)

fruitstick · 02/06/2009 21:34

DS1 about 4 months.

DS2 is 14 weeks and I'm still waiting .

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 02/06/2009 21:35

ds1 slept 12-6am from about 6 weeks and 12 hours from about 12 weeks
DS2 woke every 3 hours until he was about 7 months old then it was like a switch to 12 hours

snickersnack · 02/06/2009 21:35

dd - at 11 months. She was still bf-ing in the night until that point.
ds - stopped bf at 10 months, little monkey didn't sleep through until 18 months.

WinkyWinkola · 02/06/2009 21:37

DS slept through at two and half. He was bf'd until two.

Then I had DD who still doesn't sleep through at two.

I am a bit grey faced as a result, it has to be said!

StealthPolarBear · 02/06/2009 21:37

at these
please can someone come on and talk in years with me
Although I'm about to have #2 and so am getting hopeful...

StealthPolarBear · 02/06/2009 21:37

thanks WW!

poguemahone · 02/06/2009 21:38

DD slept through at 3 months, DS at 14 months, i.e. just last week.

Both BF so I'm no help to you, am I? I just wanted to share this breakthrough.

Castiel · 02/06/2009 21:38

DD's 2yrs old. Doesn't sleep through...

Allegrogirl · 02/06/2009 21:40

Waking 3 x a night until started on solids. Slept through at 6 months a week after going on to 3 meals per day. At 3 months introduced an evening ff as I was knackered but it made no difference to the waking.

ds1 did 7-7 with a dreamfeed at 10 at 10 weeks.

ds2 17 weeks an counting....still waking at 11 for dreamfeed and 3am.

BTW DS1 stopped sleeping through at about 5 months because apparently with big babies they need an extra top up to get more calories as they get bigger then they sleep through again when weaned.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 02/06/2009 21:42

Dd was 18 months, ds is 2 in a few weeks and is still feeding through the night! Joy!

mamakim · 02/06/2009 21:44

Thanks for the quick replies. Well. There's certainly a wide range of ages! Looks like there's no magic formula (so to speak!) i guess i should keep everything crossed that i'm one of the lucky ones!

Well I'm off to bed - looks as though I need the sleep!
Night

Marthasmama · 02/06/2009 21:46

Forgot to say, both ds and dd were bf.

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 02/06/2009 21:47

Stealth it does happen (although in DD's case around 2.5 years).

She is 3 and about 8 months now. I like generally being able to have more sleep

Verity79 · 02/06/2009 21:57

DD1 was 1 year when we actively night weaned her. Prior to night weaning was on 4 feeds a night.

DD2 was 16 months when she started STTN but we had tried night weaning at around 14 months (fairly half heartedly though). I think my supply dropping as I got into 2nd trimester triggered it. No point in waking for a empty boob

Somebody hit me with the clue by 4 as just as they are both sleeping through we're having another one!

Don't sweat it if your 4 week old is having night feeds it's normal!

AlexandraPeppernose · 02/06/2009 23:23

Dd is 9wks and has been sleeping 7-6 for the last wk
