I have a 14 weeker and he only got into a vague routine at 12 weeks - but it doesnt matter _ i just feed him before I go out and then if he cries its just him being a baby...

ps dont wake him up to feed him then? I just left mine and sometimes he does 12 hours and sometimes he wakes - it all depends on whim!!

Finally managed to get online again, ds keeps me very busy with the feeding only.... of course i'm trying to do something else to, but to no avail: where does my day go? how did I manage to lead a full life b4 he arrived and can't do basic things around the house anymore???? Let alone paint my toe nails or things for myself!

Mears, ds is normally half anhour on each breast b4 I give him the bottle and he takes everything!

The breasts are full when I latch him on, and "deflated" when he leaves them, so I guess he's emptied them. Must say that I have a lot more milk now and it's not painful anymore. I am drinking and eating more...and putting on weight again but again it's for a good cause.

Kaz33, agree that without mumsnet I would have given up breastfeeding already. It did get better for me and I start enjoying it.

mixed feeding has proved good for my baby since he is putting on a lot of weight and he needed too as he was quite tiny when he was born.
Also I love the fact that I can give him the bottle since dh can take over when I am too tired. Very good for when you are out and about and not fancy taking your boobs out in public.
