Interesting addition to Hunker's blog (I think, but then I am Hunker...)

Infant feeding through history. Fledgling (very atm!), but I'll add to it.

I'd be interested to see what comes of that page. Like the links

RedOnHerBeheadedHead · 27/10/2008 10:29

the treen nipple shield looks more painful than a biting baby with teeth!

And the breastpump! Looks more like a torture device!

TheWomanWhoAteTraffic · 27/10/2008 11:00

Why do you always refer to yourself in the third person?

It's a bit 'great I Am'?

hunkermunker · 27/10/2008 11:03

Hahahaha - because more people click on the thread if I put my name in it. Simple. But feel free to sneer, my dear

Very interesting pictures hunker. Glad to see you're back.

hunkermunker · 27/10/2008 11:05

Thanks, Belgo.

TWWAT (ooooooohhhhhhh your name has an unfortunate shortening, doesn't it?!) - do I know you under another name?

CharCharBaGOOOOOOORE · 27/10/2008 11:06

Wow they're really interesting pics. Wouldn't fancy expressing with that though!

hunkermunker · 27/10/2008 11:08

Just found another one - have added it to blog. Fascinating topic!

good comment from Lizzie

TheWomanWhoAteTraffic · 27/10/2008 11:14

Gosh you are quick to snipe, I haven't really come across you before. I just thought it a bit self aggrandising, as confirmed by your first reply.

hunkermunker · 27/10/2008 11:16

If you haven't come across me before, why be so quick to attack? I simply replied in kind.

If you've nothing useful to add to the thread, why are you on it?

And if you haven't come across me before, how would you know I "always" referred to myself in the third person? I've barely been on here in the last few months anyway. Beginning to remember why!

OP posts:
TheWomanWhoAteTraffic · 27/10/2008 11:20

Just lots of threads 'hunker says touch your toes', 'hunker hates this company for x' etc.

I've only recently been on the breast & bottlefeeding board and just wondered why you post like that.

AnarchyAunt · 27/10/2008 11:21

I have not noticed Hunker being 'self aggrandising'

purplemonkeydishwasher · 27/10/2008 11:22

a HV i know (who is the most PRO BF person EVER! she's not my HV sadly though.. but anyway...) said that 20 years ago in this area they didn't call is breastfeeding because it had the word breast in it. they called it chestfeeding!!!

hunkermunker · 27/10/2008 11:22

Then why not ask, politely, why I do it? Why tell me it's "a bit 'great I Am'"?

There is actually a good reason - I get more responses to threads if I put my name in them. MN is a big place now, after all.

Is that OK with you? Or would you like to ascribe dodgy motives and to me some more?

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 27/10/2008 11:23

And lots of threads - what, recently? I don't think so.

So, I ask again - do I know you under another name?

PsychoAxeMurdererMum · 27/10/2008 11:23

ooh hunker, am gonna have a read of that.....looks interesting.

I have recently inherited my DH's grandma's medical book from when she had DH's mum......so a 1930's print. In is utterly fascinating. especially on feeding and weaning etc. They were very much BLW back then too, and recommended babies having a good tan, to make them 'hardy as young goats'

I put it 'somewhere safe' tho, as it is quite fragile, so if I can hunt it out, I may give you a few anecdotes from it if you are interested????

TheWomanWhoAteTraffic · 27/10/2008 11:24

Now you are the one who's made this into a big deal. Forget it.

I just don't like those that think their word is the final say, which is what you are implying.

AnarchyAunt · 27/10/2008 11:24

But you see if a thread is titled 'Interesting addition to my blog', people won't necessarily look.

I am interested in Hunker's blog. I like to know whats new on it.

RedOnHerBeheadedHead · 27/10/2008 11:24

hunker I like it - it reminds me of RedOnHerBeheadedHead - that would be me - when I say "Mummy has to go to the toilet"

Oh, fgs, you come onto a thread for a go at me and I'm the one making it into a big deal?!

Christ on a bike, this place! Mental!
