Well tbh aitch this thread has been so hugely long I could not swear to it. But I think I did. I really do.

Your post makes me sad and I'm thinking of you, but I'll post more later.

satine · 29/07/2006 18:29

I haven't read the whole thread, but I don't care how 'passionately' Moondog feels about nutrition, her choice of thread title and approach to the breast/bottle debate is crude, insulting and counterproductive. On reading the thread title I decided that I wasn't going to read the article, as I assumed it was more of the same. It's a bit like going up to a smoking mum and shouting abuse at her. Factually you may well be correct that she is endangering her own and her children's health but you're never going to get your message across in that way.

FanjoandZooey · 29/07/2006 18:29

"I also think the title was inadvisable"

-me, what seems like weeks ago

aitch71 · 29/07/2006 18:39

Ha! I did wonder, Franny, i must say.

sorry to have got the wrong end of the stick, and don't feel sad for me, i'll survive. i'll have to... someone round here's got to keep poisoning the bub...

God, is that in poor taste, already? i'm losing perspective somewhat...

Blandmum · 29/07/2006 18:45

MI, I have also made those sorts of choices. I bet that everyone on MN has made those sorts of choices at some time or another....or will do in their child's lifetime.

I put my dd into a creche at 2 because I was going stir crazy at home and I needed a few hours to myself to stop going nuts. I had no family closer than a 2 hour drive, and had just moved into a new area where I knew no-one.

It might not have been the perfect thing for dd, but the slternative was having a mother going round the bend.

Fio honey (and you KNOW I never say honey )- you've got enough to deal with coming up over the next few days, walk away. xxxxx xxxxx

donnie · 29/07/2006 19:50

I think this thread should die now.

Blu seems to have left MN which is a great shame and I notice Moondog has chosen not to say anything about the inflammatory nature and reaction to her OP.

Breast feeding is fine

Bottle feeding is fine

END OF.

foxinsocks · 29/07/2006 19:54

why has blu gone?

junk was mentioned in the article blurb so maybe moondog meant to put it in quotes?

what you need is a child with allergies from birth - you then appreciate any morsel of food that passes their lips that they aren't allergic to, no matter what the origin (junk or not!) and you start appreciating McDonalds because it lists all the ingredients in its meals!

mogwai · 29/07/2006 22:20

c'mon moondog

you will lose all respect if you start something like this and don't come back, if only to say "er...duff title, sorry"

MrsBadcrumble · 29/07/2006 22:25

Ach, she'll be back. She goes a bit potty every now and again on this topic then comes back and uses it as "Oh the bottle-feeders all take it so personally, I will not be prevented from discussing the subject" fodder (like anyone has said we shouldn't anyway) and so on and so on.
All highly predictable IMO.
Will be sad if Blu has left, though, we need a few bright, measured, principled non-attention-seekers on MN.

FanjoandZooey · 29/07/2006 22:27

Pruni why are you MrsBadCrumble?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 29/07/2006 22:29

Oh me me me me me - can I be a bright and measured non-attention seeking one?

mogwai · 29/07/2006 22:30

mrs badcrumble, as in, snug as a bug in a rug, helmets will be worn during the performance

by any chance??

MrsBadcrumble · 29/07/2006 22:31

vvv
FZ I got bored of pruni...
I think I am bored of MN as well.

MrsBadcrumble · 29/07/2006 22:32

Ah mogwai, you've got it

VeniVidiVickiQV · 29/07/2006 22:33

Well, we never get bored of Pruni

mogwai · 29/07/2006 22:38

yes, Mrs BC

I thought as much

you have same sense of humour as me. Wish I'd thought of Mrs BadCrumble. You git.

mogwai · 29/07/2006 22:39

(yeah, MN is chronic recently. Loads of attention-seeking shenanigans, not like my attention-seeking cream-honery of yesteryear. Need to get pg and rekindle "passive second-timers sign in here")

MrsBadcrumble · 29/07/2006 22:51

I really fancied SimonTheGodOfHairdos or GeoffTheGodOfBiscuits

oooh how about TheEmperorFabulous?

MrsBadcrumble · 29/07/2006 22:53

It's a different kind of attention-seeking isn't it, atm? TBH my troll-dar is constantly going off. And you don't have to be new to be a troll.

mogwai · 29/07/2006 22:54

quite

what about "stevethebird?"

MrsBadcrumble · 29/07/2006 22:55

lol

You know there are a surprising number of situations where I long to say "Bring your hooded look"...but realise in time.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 29/07/2006 22:55

What about...

PrunellaRoyalUnderlingNewlyInducted

Or, PRUNI for short....?
