Susieloo · 09/12/2012 00:10

Awake two hours since last feed........why do we have to go backwards instead of forwards!!! He is really feeding too so obvs hungry, I can't keep my eyes open.

waves at minipop and hello to everyone, eyes struggling to stay open...

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 09/12/2012 00:43

evil we're staying with PIL at the moment, hoping to move down here permanently in a year or so as we've both got family in the county and we just love the laid back approach people have in Cornwall. goat its cold here yes, damn windy too!

Hi minipop good to have you back, although :( at the bad nights yiuve been having. Hope you and your DH haven't had too big a row.

amey was it the one round the far side of the harbour, you had to go up a load of steps then it was a little crazy golf place almost in someone's back garden? Lots of Cornish piskies dotted about the place too!

I'm the last one up here, bit peed off with DH (again!) for bailing on me about 20 minutes ago because he "couldn't stand much more of this" (ie babylump crying a bit) and "there's no point both of us being tired" (agreed, but only I am allowed to offer that particular get out of jail free card!) Babylump finally fallen aeep on me but already had one transfer fail tonight so leaving her a bit longer before attempting again. At least Father Ted is on telly, every cloud and all that!

funchum8am · 09/12/2012 00:50

Hi ladies, sorry to hear about all the wakeful babies! Those naughty DHS also Angry . I had a great day at conference and pub after for a bit and babyfunch was fine with DH except refused the bottle from 2pm onwards til she woke up at 9pm. He kept offering, she just wasn't having it, and is feeding for 2nd time since I got back so I figure it hasn't harmed her.

I however have woken just now with earache in my left ear Sad

I am envious of Cornwall fun heff...good luck everyone for the rest of the night, think we need it!

Ameybee · 09/12/2012 03:11

Yes it was heff! Got some pics of me and my brothers playing crazy golf wearing some well dodgy board shorts Blush! We also have a random family pic of us in the harbour with a parrot - someone taking them for £5! Ah I feel all nostalgic now! Sorry DH being a bit unhelpful! Sometimes u just have to tell them how it is. My DH kept following me round this am holding baby bee, even in shower - I was like err you can put him down you know - in the chair in kitchen and wash the pots like i do Angry. He also got stressed tonight when babybee wouldn't settle I came up on my own with him eventually.

1st feed here but I'm not suprised the amount of screaming we had earlier must of worn him out!
Hope all the babies are behaving! X

Smallgreenone · 09/12/2012 03:14

Cornwall sounds lovely heff, you're so lucky to be moving there.
We had a lovely day but I'm knackered and have a sore throat so think that means that I will soon be getting a cold which means that baby small will soon be getting a cold Xmas Sad
It's pretend Christmas lunch with my parents tomorrow as we are with dh's family for actual Christmas. My folks haven't seen him for a few weeks so can't wait for them to see him again. Also can't wait for a delicious Sunday roast in fact might have a quick look on pub website to see if they have a menu online! I can start dreaming about it now!!!

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 09/12/2012 03:35

small make sure they remember to give you Yorkshire pudding! Xmas Shock (not speaking from bitter experience at all, oh no retires to corner to mutter and cast dark looks at nothing in particular )

Xmas Sad for all the coughs and colds going round. Hope everyone feels better soon. Remember that chocolate has medicinal qualities!

Susieloo · 09/12/2012 04:24

Grin at small, I google menus of places I'm going to eat, I also have to know what everyone else is having before I can place my order.

I feel in need of a holiday now with all the lovely images of Cornwall, we went last year and thought it was beautiful.

3rd feed of the night and he's just done 4 hours so not too bad, we are going to stay at my mum and dads for the day today and I'm trying a new recipe of slow braised pork with cider and parsnips. Also cooking and freezing some little weaning portions of carrot, squash and apple.

Hoping for another threeSmile

Ameybee · 09/12/2012 05:53

Transfer fail Confused go back to sleep baby! X

MrsNPattz · 09/12/2012 06:03

First feed here so after we finally got to bed we have just had nearly 6 hours with no interruptions Yey! It's really wild outside here too, hoping its a quick feed so I can snuggle up again. I'm eating chocolate at 6am Shock but as goat says it's purely medicinal Grin

When I was pregnant I was obsessed with looking online at the menus for the places we were going to eat at and picking what I was going to eat lol

Why do babies love transfer fails? Hope everyone is sleeping soundly now!

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 09/12/2012 06:09

susie do I detect another Good Food addict? Xmas Smile tell me how the pork recipe turns out - I was thinking of making it and freezing it for Christmas.

We have been awake since 3. Xmas Sad I have however whiled away the time by reading the most insane thread I have ever read on MN. Xmas Shock

In 50 mins I shall consign Kid to DH and roll over for a lovely snooze.

MrsNPattz · 09/12/2012 06:12

goat do tell - which thread??

OP posts:
Susieloo · 09/12/2012 08:11

Ohhhh which thread? goat I love good food and I used to subscribe to the magazine until the recipes started coming round again, now I just get the email, there is quite a lot of stock I think for the quantities of ingredients so I'll let you know how we get on.

Babyloo went through until 7.30 so not tooooo bad a night, he's now talking to the Christmas tree.

Happy Sundays everyone Smile

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 09/12/2012 08:56

It was the thread about whether a friend of the op wbu to bring a 6 month old baby to an evening party in a restaurant, as she couldn't leave him at home as she was bfing. At least, it started as a thread abut that, and seemed to end up being about changing a nappy unseen on a bouncy castle at midnight. Xmas Hmm And when I stopped reading there were 856 posts!! Xmas Shock

Kid loves ourChristmas tree, especially its reflection in the window.

Do let me know how yu get on, susie !

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 09/12/2012 09:12

We just got 8 hours!! Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

I'm in shock, we came up to bed at 1 as usual, next thing I know DD1 is patting my head going "helloooo mummyyyy" and I grudgingly get up, check the time and its 9am! Fluke or not that was lovely!

Only slight downside being I now only have an hour to get two DDs, myself and DH up, dressed, breakfasted and out the door as if we don't leave by 10 we'll be late for the christening. All systems go, and praying we don't get any poonamis!

goat I started reading that thread but got annoyed with the attitudes of some people do I had to abandon it! Although it was still on about restaurants when I did so may revisit now! There are some crazy threads about at the moment aren't there.

Wow amey small world isn't it! DH and I used to play there when we first started coming to Cornwall but I think its been gone a long time now :(

I best get going if we're going to make it on time. Have a lovely day everyone Xmas Smile

MrsNPattz · 09/12/2012 10:46

Wow - little man and I just slept until 10:10! I can forgive him for not going down until midnight now Smile

heff hope you have a lovely day at the christening - and congratulations on your 8 hours, everyone must have been exhausted from your lovely day yesterday! I have a question for when you are less busy, I notice that your little one doesn't go down until late too and I was just wondering will you eventually try to get them to go earlier? I'm not sure how it can be done lol

goat I will have to have a nosy at that thread!

susie hope your cooking is successful, sounds gorgeous!

Susieloo · 09/12/2012 18:20

Last feed before bed, well second feed after a transfer fail, he's so bunged up the poor little thing, hope his cold clears soon.

He had his first taste of food today and like his mother took to it rather well!! Got a bit frustrated because I was being extra cautious about how much I put in his mouth and was grabbing the spoon off me trying to do it himself.

I am heading to bed with my book after tea and hoping my recent bout of mild pre midnight insomnia goes away.

goat casserole is lovely-I've tasted not eaten yet but I'm really pleased with it, couple of things- I didn't add all the stock it just seemed too much and even then I still reduced the liquid further on the hob after the 2 hours in the oven, also benefits from a healthy dollop of salt and tastes nicer as they all do now it has been out of the oven for a bit so would be great to freeze.

Have a good night everyone Smile

Ameybee · 09/12/2012 20:34

Had a lovely day here - spent some nice time with DD, she helped me clean this morning, then we baked fairy cakes (delicious) then we all went to the garden centre and bought a real tree for the conservatory & decorated it with some Xmas tunes on Grin DS liked the lights!
I have no idea when bedtime will be tonight as we were going to give him a bath but he fell asleep at 7 for an hour on me then woke up full of beans?!?
He's been trying so hard to roll over all day - hopefully that's worn him out! X

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 09/12/2012 21:02

Ah that sounds like a really nice day amey, wish we could have a real tree I love the smell!

mrsn I will try to bring bedtime forward eventually but for now we're just going with the late nights. I don't think they can really learn 'bedtime' much before 6 months so other than trying to mange daytime naps and do all the usual night time things like dim lights tv down etc I'm just resigned to the fact that I'll be watching a lot of late night telly for the next few months! Trying hard to remind myself its not forever as I'd kill for an early night!

Our little nephew's christening today was lovely. He looked so smart & handsome in his tiny suit and all the babies & children were really well behaved...apart from babylump who let off a series of loud and violent farts during the silent prayers Xmas Blush

Tonight I had a curry-off with FIL, he had what he reckoned was the 'hottest curry sauce ever' and couldn't finish it so I thought we'll that's a challenge right there...I managed the lot but might perhaps regret it later!

It's our last night here, PIL taking DD1 out for a day at Newquay zoo tomorrow so DH & I have got a quiet day with babylump before heading home in the evening. Hope we get a good night tonight we're all knackered from being out all day today.

Sleepy dust to all xx

MrsNPattz · 09/12/2012 21:48

Not a bad day here, although got wound up by the in laws yet again. PIL and SIL were coming to visit, THEY asked us what time so we said 1 - half 2 they turned up! It really bugs me how they obviously don't think about us! Anyhoo, we put our tree up too with little man's 'my first Christmas 2012' bauble taking pride of place Grin

heff that's good to know as I can't see bedtime here getting earlier anytime soon! Glad you had a good day.

amey wow nearly rolling over already!! Our little man hates tummy time and barely lifts his head yet Blush although his head is definitely getting stronger!

OP posts:
Ameybee · 09/12/2012 21:49

Ha ha heff farts during prayers always funny! Grin
Hoping baby bee transfers soon successfully! DH is in with me tonight and he's already sniffling and coughing - night kick him out soon! Confused X mrsn did LO sleep through till that time or wake for feeds inbetween? X

MrsNPattz · 09/12/2012 21:51

And goat whereabouts is that thread? I can't find it! Thanks

OP posts:
MrsNPattz · 09/12/2012 21:51

amey he woke once at ten to 6!

OP posts:
HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 09/12/2012 23:47

That's annoying and quite rude of them mrsn, did they phone to let you know they would be late? I'd be annoyed too.

I'm watching the snooker final with DH while begging babylump to go to sleep, I'm so tired after today and she's resisting any attempts to get her to drop off.

link to thread for you mrsn

elvislives2012 · 10/12/2012 00:17

First feed of the night here. Hoping DD will last for a few hours afterwards Grin
mrsn a couple of weeks ago baby elvis would scream from 9-2am and would go down anytime during that time. I couldn't cope with that! Now around 8pm she has time on the mat kicking around with her nappy off, followed by bath if she is due one and then massaged every night with johnsons bedtime lotion. We then have a final feed in bed with the lights low. This has helped amazingly and she is usually asleep by 10. Sometimes she's too unsettled so it's later but not often. She's still really small (7weeks) so not strict but sending out the same signal every night has given us some structure. I can't stay awake until late at night, I'm rubbish at it!
Hope u all sleep well!
