Hi there.

DS is six days old. Just finishing off a 30 min feed, switched in the middle. But he had gone for over 4 hours before. Dunno if it's too long? So shattered. Fighting with DH all night before bed too. Gutted. :(

I went to a breast feeding group this week and apparently there is a hormone in your milk at night that helps babies sleep so of you are expressing to give a bottle at night express at night. Also apparently night milk is creamier and yummier than day milk. No idea if they're right but that's what I was told.
No snow here but heavy snow forecast for tomorrow. I do love the snow! I'm like a big kid! Although I might feel differently now I have a baby and will be house bound if it is bad.

Back to 2 hourly feeds :( or slightly less! I'm so tired, got both of them on my own Tomo too Confused it will be a long day!
Can't believe we have reverted again after such a good run.
Think I will ring HV mrsn just need some ressurance, same thing happened with DD except bigger drop of centiles and she nearly killed me off permentantly feeding until I had to ff?
Welcome mummy and congrats! Think I'd be tempted to leave baby till they wake or if they are asleep on you put down to wake up then feed. In my experience waking only led to a sleepy feed which was v short! But baby bee never went that long anyway as he's a little monkey! X

welcome magic very sorry to hear you and DH are arguing. it is horrible when you can't agree and are all sleep deprived so everything feels terrible. Hope you can talk things over better soon Sad

babyfunch is feeding well having gone down at 5 and only woken at 11 and 3:30 to feed Shock. This means she slept through the usual 2am bad patch so I feel fairly good!
DH has decided to get up because he can't sleep (i think the larger than usual volume of washing up is playing on his mind Grin ) so he is taking her downstairs with him...not ideal for her routine but I can't resist the extra sleep as I have a half KIT day again. babyfunch is off to her lovely childminder for the second time. I hope it goes well again.

heff Cornwall is so lovely, I am jealous of your trip!
goat glad kid is letting you rest
mrsn Shock to what it must be like in Aberdeen in this weather!

waving to everyone I have missed and Angry to naughty stroppy DHs who think THEY are tired!!

just realised why DH is so willing to get up - there is live Test match coverage on!

My periods started again straight away after I had DS1 and DS2 Amey. I think it's just bad luck, not necessarily a sign of poor milk supply. I expect I'll be the same with this DS3. If you're worried about your supply you could try fenugreek and make sure you're getting some rest during the day, even if it's just vegging in front of the TV.

Second feed of the night here. Any chance of him going until morning now?

Ok, so the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed just came a long a bit later.
This is not just a transfer fail, this is an epic transfer fail...

heff have a lovely time in Cornwall though Xmas Shock at leaving at 2am!
Welcome magic
funch fingers crossed for multitasking, watching test match AND doing the washing up!
Hope you feel better soon mrsn and maybe get a nice snuggly duvet day if you can't get out!

Waves to everyone else and takes deep breath before approaching possibly sleeping Kid for transfer re-attempt.

Second feed!! Not sure if we're about to get a delayed transfer fail, as I can hear fidgeting.
Hopefully get another couple of hours before we're up for the day.
Please let this be the beginning of a pattern. She has a bit of a cough which I hope is just a night time snuffle and not coming down with something. DD1 and I both have sore throats. Missmarbles has had that already don't want it again.
And did I already say I wanted this to be a normal night not the start of poorliness Xmas Confused

Enjoy Cornwall,Heff. Safe journeyXmas Smile

Hi MagicXmas Smile and congratulations.

Waves at everyone else.

Hope DHs start being a bit less self-centred and a bit more supportive.

Second feed here and I haven't slept well in between. Definitely going to be a duvet day goat! There's something quite nice and Christmassy about being snuggled up inside when there is snow outside!

Hi and welcome mummymagic - hope you sort things out with DH!

Sounds like another mixed bag of nights!

Well DH and babyfunch have got on like a house on fire! She slept for a bit, then played with him and was pleasingly cute and smily, then took a bottle and is now feeding with me again as DH is having a shower. So I got a blissful uninterrupted hour and a half more sleep (though actually had unpleasant dream Sad ).

We are probably creating a massive issue letting her play etc in the middle of the night though....hopefully when the reflux or colic stops she will sleep longer and we can easily stop it!

marbles fingers crossed for you that no poorliness occurs

mrsn have a wonderful duvet day....I had a duvet morning yesterday and it was bliss.

J has now gone four hours since his last feed! He was noisy around 6:45 so I brought him into bed to feed him but he just did some loud and painful poos and didn't waken enough to latch on. Now I just have to get him to go four hours at night . I'm actually waiting for him to wake up so I can fee him an express the other side for a bottle for DH to give him in the evening.

mrsn I wonder if our DS's have hit the 12 week growth spurt a bit early? I'm knackered today, had just got use to getting a bit more sleep - going back to 2 hourly feeds is torture Confused! DD has yet another cold & has been whining and hanging off my leg all morning Confused the house looks like a bombs gone off and MIL has decided she can't come over as planned for fear of snow! Long day ahead ;(

She has just said she thinks she lee feeling slightly better and has picked up her Nintendo after feeling cold all afternoonXmas Sad

Last feed before bed for a very over tired babyloo although I'm expecting his usual couple of wakings between now and seven. His cheeks by the end of the day are scalding and scarlet so teething is well under way I think. I did post this morning but the app ate it-we had an amazing night by all accounts with a dream feed at half eleven followed by a grizzle at 4.40 and as an experiment I thought I would put his sound machine on rather than jump to feed him and he went back to sleep until 6.30-I think this is our third night and previously good runs have been three nightly followed by a return to two hourly so fingers crossed, I have asked babyloo to let miss marbles know that this is the new plan, she seems to be heading that way anyway, remarkable how similar there sleeping patterns have been.

Hope all the poorly babies are feeling better and all the sleep deprived mum's have got some rest.

Off to take DH to his Xmas work do (with babyfunch in the car, late bedtime for her Grin ) then will settle her and order a pizza! DH has the day off tomorrow so we can share night duty (if he doesn't drink too much! he never really does) and off to see friends tomorrow in Essex. Life's good!

MissingMyBaubles · 06/12/2012 18:38

It is remarkable, Susie! We also have hot scarlet cheeks but clearly no temp. which I am super aware of at the mo in the light if DD1's furnace.
Last feed half done; just going to put wadded sleeper on, feed other side and do transfer.

Well I have a real grizzle bunny tonight. He sounds very wheezy and obviously is really outraged at still feeling under the weather. I hope it settles down, because he can't breathe properly unless completely upright. Might try the wet towel on radiator trick.
Sorry to hear about unwell children. Hope everyone gets a good night nevertheless (well I can dream cant I!)
Enjoy your pizza, funch !

I'm feeling really, really low today. I am feeling completely drained due to the mastitis and not enough sleep, and my eyes are bad again today. Mentally I am feeling all over the place. My issues towards my in laws just seem to be dragging me down and it's making me feel a million miles away from hubby - I'm scared its coming between us without us really knowing it. Every time I look at and think about my baby boy I cry. I feel guilty but I don't know what about. I can't seem to sleep - I have come upstairs to try but I'm just crying instead. I'm sorry all I seem to do is whine at the moment but this seems to be the only place I can offload and get support. Hoping for a good night to give me a big of strength!

He's 11 weeks today mrsn but he was 9 days late so could well be early growth spurt (well in my head anyway!). Had a mixed day, spoke to HV about his weight, she said he theoretically hasn't gained as much as he should but its just a watch n wait thing really, she said it could be because he's gone longer between feeds at night (not last night obviously!). I feel pretty crappy about it, if he's not gained as he should in 2 weeks ill probably switch to ff as this is what happened with DD, i really wanted bf to work out this time.

Sorry to hear of all poorly little ones! There's so many bugs about at the mo! DD is still harbouring something, she's not herself. Taking her to gp on mon if she's not much better. Xx
