Here we are Grin

goat thanks, I could but am worried about putting the car seat in!

We are putting the Moses basket in the big cot tonight to start getting him used to it as he will be too big for the basket soon!!

Bed time not going well so far.......

Ameybee · 28/12/2012 11:48

Well we've had a trip to dr this am - poor DD coughing like mad, chest infection & inflamed ear :( so antibiotics for us. Just hope DS doesn't catch it. I hate winter! I was kind of hoping that just breastfeeding him a little bit would give him antibodies and prevent some infections, kidding myself probably!

As for getting in shape - am I mental to consider buying a treadmill? Argos have a reebok one at half price £300 ish! It folds up too. Thinking of whacking it on credit card & not telling DH till it arrives!!! What do we think???? Wink

MrsNPattz · 28/12/2012 14:48

Oh no amey - poor DD! Hope she feels better soon.

I am going to join weight watchers after new year, sick of eating crap and feeling huge. I am wondering of it's all the sugar making it difficult for me to fall asleep! And I know I won't stop unless I join so that's the plan.

Thanks heff - people just love giving advice don't they, smile and wave Grin

I'm excited as my mum is going to upgrade her phone and give me the upgrade - an iPhone 5 Smile I will have to pay for it and unlock it, but I will get a good price for mine from my network so it's all good.

StuntNun · 28/12/2012 15:53

I have a cross trainer Amey but it hardly gets used. Most days I don't have time to do my hair (it just gets bunged up in a ponytail), when am I going to find time for exercise? Ignore stupid plan to use it with J in the sling. I have used it in the past though so it isn't as pointless as DH's gym membership.

MrsNPattz · 28/12/2012 16:10

Is it ok to take a baby to a weight watchers meeting do you think?

OP posts:
HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 28/12/2012 17:04

Oh no amey hope your DD is feeling better soon and the rest of you are spared from catching it. Half price treadmill sounds fab to me, if we had the room I'd love one. If I could stick it in front of the telly I'd happily go 'running' while watching films! DD1 has been playing on MIL's treadmill this week, not sure they're meant for 2 year olds but she's enjoying herself!

I'm thinking of WW mrsn although I've just assumed they'll be ok with baby being there can't see why not as long as they're quiet. Think I heard you get extra points if you're bf too Grin

Had a lovely day today, went to a farm down the road that has a big soft play barn, only cost £4.25 for me, DH and our two DCs plus SIL and her 5m old and MIL. We were there ages and all the kiddos are well & truly worn out now!

DH is going to snooker tonight, really hoping the girls give me an easier evening than yesterday!

funchum8am · 28/12/2012 17:47

I did plan to start C25k today but haven't! Maybe tomorrow (to quote The Littlest Hobo). I am also sick of feeli.g huge and lord knows what I will wear when back at work in 7 weeks if I can't get back in some of my smart stuff!

babyfunch has napped at fairly sensible times today for the first time ever Shock. so we are hoping she may sleep better tonight. Things have been slowly improving for the past week and she has not had a ridiculous amount of afternoon sleep for once so here's naively hoping.

Nice to see you mini but really sorry to hear about the bad nights Sad

amey I hope dd feels better v v quickly and that no one else gets it!

Went out today on mission to buy condoms without being seen by any pupils or parents from work! (I only live a mile from school!). Successful though so who knows...DH may get lucky in the near future if he can put up with the new but not improved post baby sexfunch Grin

Susieloo · 28/12/2012 18:03

Last feed before I'm going out for dinner!!! We are going to a bistro where dp delivers to for work and the owner offered us a free meal for all his hard work in the run up to christmas. I can't wait and I'm starving!! Feeling ok about leaving babyloo and I know that he will be well looked after and I've explained that I'm not bothered if he's asleep when I get in as long as he's not distressed when I'm gone.

My mum, dad and brother are having a Chinese and I'm already thinking about the leftovers in the middle of the night.

Will fill you all in on the food most importantly laterGrin

Have good nights y'all! (am slightly giddy at thought of going outShock)

Smallgreenone · 28/12/2012 18:37

Hi all I've been too tired to post and too tired so am a bit behind.
Enjoy your meal tonight susie
We've just got back from my parents which was lovely but exhausting. They offered to babysit so we could go out but I was too tired and went to bed instead Sad
Tomorrow is my first overnight stay away from baby small. I'm terrified I'll miss him so much I'll have to come home but also excited about having a full nights uninterrupted sleep Grin
Attempting transfer. See you all shortly

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 28/12/2012 20:10

funch I am pmsl @ "post baby sexfunch" Grin

Well, my hopes for an easier night have gone not only out the window but down the lane and into the next county :( DD1 is having a tantrum refusing to lie down or cooperate in any way shape or form, and babylump is exhausted due to limited time spent napping today but instead of doing the sensible thing & going to sleep she is shouting about it instead Confused and because we're staying with ILs there's less space to escape to and I just feel that much more stressed out.

Have we done best/worst Christmas presents received yet? I know I've missed a few pages so might have missed it. My best was a spa day with 90 minute massage from DH but my worst is a toss up between a keyring & pen set that was obviously a free gift or a massive pile of fuck ugly Disney tat clothes for the girls. I feel a bit bad about that one as I know it was given with good intentions so I am grateful for the thought, but it is honestly hideous. Think Minnie Mouse neon pink with bows and leopard print and you're half way there. Oh I sound so ungrateful now, I really don't meant to be! Going to try taking it back to exchange so at least their money isn't wasted.

So, unless you've already been though it, what was everyone else's?

MrsNPattz · 28/12/2012 20:46

Attempting bed time here, little man has hardly slept all day and is so tired but just will not sleep! Hoping we get a good stretch tonight once he goes to sleep.

Have a great time susie, can't wait to hear all about it!

small sorry you are so tired! Are you off anywhere nice tomorrow?

heff yea I'm sure they won't mind, just hope he will be quiet for the meeting part but I will give it a try!

OP posts:
MrsNPattz · 28/12/2012 20:50

Yes lol at funch - we have had s.e.x once and I didn't enjoy it Sad I hope that part of us comes back eventually, even though I have to say sex has never been my favourite part of a relationship!

Hmmmm best and worst presents? Best are my black and zebra print Uggs, worst is probably a wooly multi coloured beret style hat - no idea how to wear it! Little man didn't get any awful ones - he has been very lucky!

OP posts:
Ameybee · 28/12/2012 21:03

The last few posts have made me laugh - I am yet to do the deed post baby with DH! First time round I think we did it after 3 month was pissed but this time I'm not so keen!! It would help If we slept in same bed! I think he's getting a bit twitchy but I do not feel sexy at all! The hair on my legs is so long I'm going to have to shampoo & condition it soon & I size of whale :( I think I'm going to find it really hard to lose weight this time and I've for more to lose.

Currently using ewan to get DD to go to sleep by herself!! Had one lot of hysterics but told her she can't have him if she wants mummy and daddy to lay with her! I sound horrid but it was getting ridiculous laying there for 40 mins in dark. Her cough is getting worse tho bless her.

Attempting transfer!! Xx

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 28/12/2012 21:08

Ok, chocolate bombes consist of choc and coffee sponge soaked in Baileys and slathered in chocolate mousse. Xmas Smile

Couch to 5k sounds great. Tomorrow...

amey hope your DD feels better very soon!

Best Christmas present was Apple TV, which i have already had some happy hours playing with, worst was a baby photo album with pink kittens on the front Xmas Hmm happy to give it to you heff to go with that fetching outfit!!

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 28/12/2012 21:10

Cross post as we were watching Warehouse 13 in the middle of it all...

BrainGoneAwol · 28/12/2012 21:35

Settling down for the night... Dp reads to me while I do the last feed and ds drops off (cute Wink)...

Can't remember all the comments I was going to respond to, so good luck to you all fir the night.

Oh, presents. Best - box of food of all the things I couldn't eat while pregnant from my db Grin. Worst - nothing comes to mind this Christmas... Obviously a good year!

See you all in a few hours.

Ameybee · 28/12/2012 21:38

Oh and present - best present for DD was duplo zoo hospital - brilliant! Worst was DD clothes - red leopard print cotton dress with matching red denim jacket, horrid horrid shiny baby pink puffa coat, 9-12 month old socks (she's 3) and DS got a horrid massive wadded trouser/top combo age 9 months - he will be 9 months in July, just in time for summer! All from DH's granny total battleaxe ! She did however buy DD some sewing cards which she loves!
My best present was stretchy leggings from DM - means I have those and one pair of jeans that fit but that's it :(
X

Smallgreenone · 28/12/2012 21:49

Ooh presents yes, my best was either ipad or spa massage which includes a snooze in a flotation tank (wonder if my snooze can be for 8 hours!)
Worst presesnt track suit bottoms for baby small as I have a thing about sports clothing being only for sport and at 4 months baby small is not at all sporty Grin
heff hope your night improves. I'm in bed with baby small as he won't sleep already tonight.
Ha ha ha to sex, we've done it once post baby I'm not adverse to it but I'm usually asleep by the time dh comes in and he knows better than to wake me Grin

BrainGoneAwol · 28/12/2012 22:16

Ha. First feed after 15 mins in bed. Sigh. Should've known this would happen after ds screamed for food at 7pm and teething meant he didn't want a top up before bed. Hopefully this means extra long before the next one Hmm

amey those sound amazingly hideous! small I'm v jealous of the spa present. I love massages.

Sex. Hmm. Babybrain isn't conducive to anything intimate due to me not being able to hide that I'm keeping half an ear out for crying. Also haven't been in the mood. Poor dp is very neglected. Anyone else extra sensitive about their personal space?

funchum8am · 28/12/2012 23:26

Glad to have helped raise a few smiles. Have actually been knitting babyfunch some legwarmers all evening with DH asleep next to me on the sofa, so no action here just yet! Wink

Best present: pjs that are actually big enough for me from DH, and cute charms for a bracelet from my dad (a guardian angel and a baby girl to represent babyfunch. Bless him.). This was also a good excuse to buy a bracelet to put them on, as mine was stolen when we got burgled a few years ago. Best DD present - lovely books from my brother's wife's family and a jigsaw made to spell her name from my dad and stepmum.

Worst present: my stepmum got DH a pen with his name on, but like a proper cheesy cheapo one from a novelty shop. She did actually say she felt bad and is sending me some money to treat him - he cooked Christmas dinner at their house and did a fabulous job after all! Think she just overlooked him in the pressie stakes as she sites on him usually!

funchum8am · 28/12/2012 23:27

That should say 'dotes on him' Grin

MissingMyBaubles · 28/12/2012 23:38

Hellooooo everyone! I am now the proud owner of dundundundundunderrr........... A NEW JOB!!!!!! Yay! Don't want to go back to work really but quite excited about new post rather than going back to something I wasn't enjoying do much. Can't remember who asked, I'm a nurse. Thank you so much for all the well-wishesXmas GrinXmas Grin Missmarbles was so good in the car again today. She just had normal naps not monster ones too so hoping for a good night tonight. She was up pretty much two hourly last night but transferred successfully do I wasn't too knackered this morning Xmas Smile

Finding smart clothes that fit was a bit of a nightmare. In the end, I wore a maternity dress Xmas Blush It was a stretchy all purpose one from Next. It is black with ruched sides so was a bit forgiving and I had sucky-in knickers on too, so maintained not too bad a shapeXmas Blush plus had a scarf to cover a multitudeXmas Grin Starting back on Slimming World next week as Missmarbles will be 6 months. DH is going to do it too. We're not doing the groups as I've done it before do we have the stuff and can chivvy each other on.

Night time for us is 6.30/7 til 7/7.30. She does the other 1-2 hours during the day but we're not great at that.

Best prezzie - pandora bracelet from my parents; worst big knickers from my parents too Xmas Confused DM sometimes gets us random joke stuff. She says these we're serious but she had meant to pick up shorts rather than 'full briefs'Xmas Grin Did pretty well though including some lovely food related items. The girls did wellXmas Smile

DH just woke Missmarbles as he came to bed Xmas Angry. We're at my parents so she's in our room. My turn for a lie in tomorrow though Xmas Smile

Sorry not to name-check properly. Completely drained and boggled eyed but still slightly buzzing, if that make sense.

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 29/12/2012 00:01

marbles congratulations!! Thwt's brilliant news. when do you start?

Big news... TaDa! Kid rolled over today. Excuse the soppiness... Being a prem you kinda notice milestones more! Only thing, he obviously hadn't read the books. Can't do front to back, only back to front. He looked so bemused when he had done it - hang on, this wasn't what the world looked like a second ago!

MissingMyBaubles · 29/12/2012 00:30

Yay for Kid! Xmas Grin So cute when they do something then look like "err what just happened??"
My mat leave ends 18th Feb but then I have annual leave to take so not actually back til April. It's the same NHS Trust so all that stays the same. I might do some of the training days as KiT days before that.

Macaroons · 29/12/2012 00:30

Well done kid for rolling over, how exciting! and well done baubles for new job!!

Xmas present - got elemis massage vouchers from DH! Can't wait for some relaxing massage!

Suspect DS is teething again... Lots of screaming today and rosy cheek, hope that doesn't mean he bad sleep tonight! Doing midnight feed now.

Just wondering how much does your little one sleep? Mine doesn't nap that much... He sleeps 8-11.30pm then 12.30-4am then wakes up at 6 and wants a chat! Then maybe half an hour when I feed him lying down at around 8am (as I really need a nap!) then maybe a half hour nap at around 11 then maybe a 1 hour nap at around 4pm and that it! Thought baby needs more sleep?

Just wondering if anyone else still feeding on demand? DS is 3.5 months now and today he's sort of crying for food almost every hour during the day! Thought they are supposed to last 3 hours between feeds now? Don't know if this is another growth spurt, but he's rarely last 3 hrs between feed over last few months. Best he could do is 2-2.5 hours during the day (luckily he lasts slightly longer in the evening and early hours)

Have a good night everyone!

smicha · 29/12/2012 01:02

Congrats marbles! That's great news.

And well done baby kid for rolling over! Smile Baby smich has found his voice in the last few days and makes an 'ooh' sound all the time but the key, volume and length of ooh vary. So cute! Yep, I'm all pfb about him Smile

We're on first feed already Sad I had heard of 4 month sleep regression, but is it possible that this is starting as early as 3 months?!
