We are putting the Moses basket in the big cot tonight to start getting him used to it as he will be too big for the basket soon!!

Bed time not going well so far.......

Took till after 1am to settle him in cot & he's only gone till now Confused. I'm dreading putting him down again. Might have to ask DH to go in other room so I can co-sleep because I feel so tired now. Something obviously needs to change, I think he can't be getting enough milk. Almost can't wait for morning so DH can take him downstairs & let me sleep. Sad Dreading transfer. X

MissingMyBaubles · 24/12/2012 03:36

Third feed. Three hourly overnight. How I wish she would drop even just one overnight feed. Stinging eyes.

funchum8am · 24/12/2012 03:36

amey I am here with you, if it helps to know you're not alone. Have taken babyfunch into bed and feeding again. She seems to have wind or constipation type pain so best leave off the gaviscon for a bit. Back to world of vom for us Sad

Smallgreenone · 24/12/2012 04:04

We never get warning before a vom either, luckily he doesn't do it too often. Better night here tonight now that we're co sleeping. Poor DH has been sent upstairs and we're sleeping in the huge bed on our own, baby small looks pleased with his accomplishment Grin. He has won the battle but not the war!
Cannot believe its Christmas Eve, this time last year baby small was just an egg!

JRsandCoffee · 24/12/2012 05:39

Hello, sorry to hear about all the sleep deprivation. We're on feed number 2 here, she seems to be going about 4 hours from start of feed to start of grizzle, still quite small though for her age of 5.5 weeks tho very respectable weight for her adjusted age of .5 weeks! Slightly piukey baby here too, no warning either tho a nappy change is a dead cert.....oh fun, a noisy poo has just occurred 20ims into this feed so any thought of a change and posset free feed is out the window....

Off to the changing table with us, wondering if an apron is a good idea.....

Susieloo · 24/12/2012 05:51

85th million feed of the night so far-well about fourth-up at half nine so about ten minutes after I went to sleep, then up at 1 then half two until half three and then morning poonami has come early so awake at 5.20, as usual we had two good nights, usually get three, then reverted back to random two or three hourly, doubt very much he will go back down now.

Totally understand where you are coming from re transfer amey, it's heartbreaking when they don't settle, so sorry things are rough for you at the moment, I'm a firm believer in anti depressants to take the edge off when things become unmanageable.

Back in his cot but wide awake, we will be up in a minute.

Fun-I will have a couple of drinks Xmas day but won't pump and dump. It's such a tiny amount of alcohol that gets into breast milk that a couple of glasses of wine are negligible and it breaks down in the same way it does in the blood- so my hv told me!! I am feeling myself getting ready for a night out soon though, stopping after two fairly big glasses is getting really difficult particularly when dp can stay up and finish the bottle!!!

Think I need to start psyching myself up to getting up.

Happy Christmas everyone!!

MissingMyBaubles · 24/12/2012 07:24

Thought this might be up for the day but she's still very sleepy in the boob so might try and sneak another hour.

Ameybee · 24/12/2012 07:32

Co slept since 3 (i think - could be 5) just to get some sleep. Can't believe how bad the night has actually been.
I'm hoping he sleeps a bit longer seeing as he didn't settle till 1.

Think ill be cancelling my eye test today, don't think I can keep my eyes open!

mrsn are you on fluxoetine (if u don't mind me asking) I read its drug of choice if bf, I had citalopram last time but I'd stopped bf by then.

X

MrsNPattz · 24/12/2012 08:52

Up time here, excited about it being little mans first Christmas. All of you with 2, are your older ones all excited?

amey I'm on Sertraline, hospital and GP said that was a good one for pregnancy and breast feeding! Started off on 50mg then went up to 100. Are you going to see your GP soon?

macaroons my little boy is sick ALOT! Occasionally it's a whole feed but it's usually just little possetts.

JRsandCoffee · 24/12/2012 08:57

Just properly awake now, although fear she may have been making hopeful noises for a while - bad mummy!

Re drinking I got round it going out for lunch twice over the last couple of days by expressing the unused boob after her morning feed and giving her a bottle while out. It meant that I could have a couple of glasses guilt free as by the time next feed came around it was a good couple of hours since I'd finished the last glass and four since I started - figure this is enough time for most of it to be processed and gone!! Will be doing the same today and tomorrow as masses to do so being able to delegate one feed v. Helpful, not forgetting my wine window!

funchum8am · 24/12/2012 10:11

susie I have the same info that you don't need to pump and dump (thank god!) the expressing is to give her a bottle of ebm instead of bfing when I -am pissed have had a glass of wine with Christmas dinner Grin It is a bit hit and miss whether she takes both boobs or just one at each feed so I am expressing whenever I can to stash up so I can drink more often-- just in case she drinks a lot at feeds and leaves me nowt to express.

Smallgreenone · 24/12/2012 12:51

I'm expressing too!! Doing it now in fact and then DH and I are off to the pub for a couple whilst baby small charms his grandparents. I'm also waxed and manicured and pedicured and wearing make up!! Woo hoo I am me again! Have a great day all and see you later xx

Ameybee · 24/12/2012 14:51

Had some success this morning. He's taken 2oz for formula twice without too much fuss. Used one of the brown hospital latex teats that a friend gave me. Stupidly forgot my breast pump so nipped & got a cheap one from boots, is actually quite good for £9 but not as easy as my medela one. Psychologically I feel much better about it all if he's getting some ecpressed milk mixed with formula if that makes sense. My mums been great & so has DH. Hoping we have a better night so we can enjoy Xmas day Tomo. Think if he continues to take bottles I will feel much better if we can get everything set up at home. Hope everyone is enjoying Xmas eve. Xx

Susieloo · 24/12/2012 18:23

I like your thinking funGrinwish babyloo was a bit better with a bottle!! We have a bottle of cava to share and I've just cut myself loads of cheese to munch on to go with it.

Glad things feel a little better amey.

Last feed before bed and I have a sleeping baby on my shoulder ready for transfer, going to enjoy it for another ten minutes.

Really hoping Father Christmas decides this will be the night of the one feed rather than the two billion I'm now used too.

See you all for the night shift, scattering sleepy Christmas dust and releasing the sleepy mice as I go.

Smallgreenone · 24/12/2012 18:36

Glad you're feeling better amey
I have a sleeping one in my arms too and I'm just sitting here enjoying it then I'm off for some last minute wrapping, a delicious supper from DH and a big glass of wine.
Hopefully baby small will stay asleep long enough for me to enjoy all that.

MrsNPattz · 24/12/2012 19:40

Sounds like you are all beautified and ready for Christmas small - I can't wait to wear make up tomorrow! And I might wear my Louboutin's to make me feel even more glam Shock

Glad things are a bit better today amey - hope it continues tonight and tomorrow.

We had a quiet, lazy day. Just bathed little one and he's now fast asleep on me. Just gonna leave him there as I'm sure he will need feeding again before he goes down properly. Does anyone else's little one scream blue murder when they come out of the bath?

After last nights vomiting DS looks fine today (and got really excited when I sing him jingle bells) so I think and hope the vomiting last night was nothing to worry about.

I read from babycentre that if you only drink a small glass with some food and wait 1.5 hr before you feed, you don't have to dump the milk.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone!

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 24/12/2012 23:46

mrsn you have Loubutins? Xmas Shock respect... Xmas Grin

Ah, I may finally have found the advantage to formula feeding Xmas Smile That Kir Royale last night was delicious!

Kid is a little unsettled with all the people around and the change of routine, so last night he woke at 3 am raring to go, and set out to do his best to entertain me. Cooing, singing, dancing... I expected him to produce a top hat and cane at any moment. He seemed so bemused that I was unappreciative: "Come on, Mum, am I going to have to do ALL the work of entertainment here?!" unfortunately tonight he took ages to settle down - he is usually out for the count by seven, but it took a few hours of wailing - "But I'm not tired!" - before he eventually zonked out at about 9. I was not long after him!

Hope he sleeps tonight, we are skyping the other side of the world early in the morning!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

MissingMyBaubles · 25/12/2012 01:30

Second feed. Transfer fail x1

MissingMyBaubles · 25/12/2012 01:46

Fail x2.
How can she be so utterly sparko and then so utterly wide awake the second her body touches the mattress???
She's gone sparko again the second I picked her up again Xmas Confused

MissingMyBaubles · 25/12/2012 02:01

X3

Susieloo · 25/12/2012 02:06

And we are back to waking up every hour and a half to two hours, if we have a poonami at half five in a whole three hours then we will be up although he promptly fell asleep at half six until eight yesterday. Bit gutted its not a better night, when will they start going longer marbles? Ever??!!!!

BabylonElf · 25/12/2012 02:12

I'm still lurking ladies, we've resorted to having ds in with us now as he sleeps marginally better.

Merry Christmas everyone :)

MrsNPattz · 25/12/2012 02:22

Merry Christmas guys!

First feed here, it took me ages to fall asleep so a bit disappointed it's not later but never mind.

Hi babylon! Great to hear you still lurk and glad things are going ok!

Hope you are all sleeping soundly now, and that our little ones don't disturb Santa Grin
