Is there a breastfeeding while pregnant thread already?

If not would anyone like to join me?

Experienced and first time feeding while pregnant mums welcome. I'm almost 11 weeks with DC2 and am still feeding DS (15 months). We are currently working at night weaning him (although he is incredibly persistent) and he still feeds 3/4/5 time per day, although he is starting to eat more solids.

I don't know anyone in RL who has fed whilst pregnant or tandemed and it would be great to be able to share frustrations etc with others.

So please come and join me, or point me in the direction of the right thread

ooh...fingers crossed for mbj!

So glad to hear little poppet is doing well. And a huge pat on the back to mama poppet and her pump.

Sorry your mw was so rubbish sui. Hopefully your referals will be better.

Is the morning feed the last remaining kd? We too have been to tesco's for "entertainment" when there's an awkward gap to fill. Blush

All well here though tired. Having difficulty getting ds down of an evening as dd wakes him as he's just dropping off. So days are long. We're getting out during the day to entertain ds but are tired and the washing etc is mounting...oh well. Grin

TheRealMBJ · 12/10/2011 16:09

Hi all. Nothing to report. Sad it was all a false alarm.

KD0706 · 12/10/2011 16:55

Boo MBJ we were all excited!! Smile Fingers crossed its soon for you.

Sorry your midwife was so pants sui
have you had your dating scan yet? And do you know roughly when your referral is likely to come through? How many weeks are you now? (lots of questions, can you tell I am / was a solicitor!!)

moon we are still doing morning and bedtime feeds. She seems fairly enthusiastic at bedtime.

Last night she woke at 4.20 and wanted a feed, so Ilet her (I'm certainly not at the stage of refusing her when she asks). It didn't do much good though. I'm fairly sure she's getting very little out. She was awake till 5.30, when she finally fell asleep with me in the spare bed. I think her molars are rumbling around, but I also think it's some sort of developmental thing as she's not waking up distressed and needing hugs necessarily. Last night it was just 'I'm awake, come and entertain me' kind of thing.

How are things going moon ? are you feeling more rested?

KD0706 · 12/10/2011 16:59

Sorry moon I managed to ignore your whole last paragraph. Can I blame baby brain??
I imagine bedtime will be the hardest.

Even with pfb DD, my washing piled up so I'm thinking it will be much much worse when this DC comes along.

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 13/10/2011 14:48

oh no mbj! Won't be long now though.

Kd i think the bedtime feed is the favourite here too. And ds's developmental wakings were always a matter of being open for business rather than distressed.

Yest eve was much easier as ds didn't want as much milk though was still late.

Can't believe dd is a week old! Shock

TheRealMBJ · 13/10/2011 15:58

Still nothing. Went for a vigorous short walk to MILs and back this afternoon to see if things get going. Might try the sexing again tonight Grin

KD0706 · 13/10/2011 16:41

Grin happy sexing in your mahoosive bed.
I bet your DH is hoping the baby stays put for a few more days...

We are on action stations today as BIL's two dogs are arriving today for their holidays with us. They're just staying till Tuesday pm. But it's been about 7 months since we lost our own dog and we're just a bit anxious about me walking two dogs plus dd, keeping dogs away from DDs toys, keeping DD away from dogs etc etc. It will be lovely to have them though.

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 13/10/2011 20:26

have fun mbj Wink

Good luck with the dogs kd. Ours is a little neglected atm poor thing...minimal walk rations.

TheRealMBJ · 14/10/2011 10:22

Still nothing Sad despite the sexing. Did have a few quite strong twinges in the night but they all seem to have calmed down now.

DS has gone out for the day with my mum and brother so I am still sitting in my PJs at the kitchen table. Really need to go have a wash and get going. Think I may just sit on the sofa knitting and watching telly today.

PenguinArmy · 14/10/2011 18:03

Hi all,

DS made an appearance on Tuesday (full childbirth birth here). Had a few problems with latch but I think we're getting there. Pop back properly later, dinners up :)

EauRouge · 14/10/2011 18:38

Congrats Penguin, enjoy your dinner! Looking forward to hearing all about your lovely new DS :) What's his name?

PenguinArmy · 14/10/2011 18:56

He is lovely, but not sure if he's starting to turn a little yellow. Which is good as it's a reason to carry on not putting him down and feeding him. He's not taking long feeds so think I'll push him to feed a bit more frequently as well (he still mostly sleeps, really not been awake yet).

His name is Lewis William and we're toying with lewie as a nn. First poo is also out the way Grin

DD hasn't shown any interest in BF, only in applying my cream to her nipples Hmm

TheRealMBJ · 14/10/2011 19:07

Congratulations Penguin! What a beautiful story too. Lovely name. Well done!

TheRealMBJ · 14/10/2011 19:08

Oh, and well done on the first poo Grin!

EauRouge · 14/10/2011 19:08

Aw, Lewis is a lovely name :)

DD2 went a bit yellow when she was a few days old (she was sleepy too). There's some info on the LLL site. If you feed, feed, feed then that will help.

PenguinArmy · 14/10/2011 19:58

do you reckon I should just wait until the next MW visit on Sunday or ring them up before and mention it?

My plan was to feed, feed, feed and wake him up a bit more to do so as his feeds are on the short side as well.

TheRealMBJ · 14/10/2011 21:04

Sounds like a good plan, I'd throw in some sunlight too (if you have any this weekend) the UV rays are excellent for jaundice. So as much exposure to as much bare skin as possible preferably outdoors.

I'd also ring the mw in the morning just to tell her her.

(When DS was born he had some jaundice but as we were snowed in nobody could get to us and they didn't seem to bothered I was petrified They just told me to feed, feeds, feed)

AngelDog · 14/10/2011 22:11

Congratulations, Penguin. :)

KD0706 · 14/10/2011 23:05

Congratulations penguin
and well done on the vb after you struggled for so long re having a CS.
Sounds like you and DS did a fab job.

Smile
MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 16/10/2011 11:17

congratulations penguin! Hope you and lewie are doing well. Grin

TheRealMBJ · 16/10/2011 17:50

Just checking in. Still no baby here, despite all my best efforts. Should stop complaining really as EDD s only on Tuesday. Grin

Weather looks reasonable for the rest of the week (cool but sunny) so I have made plans to take my mum, brother and DS somewhere outdoorsy every day. At least we'll have fun then.

How is everyone else doing?

PenguinArmy · 16/10/2011 19:55

you'll get there MBJ :)

well jaundice looks like it's starting to clear and despite the fact he only feeds for 4/5 mins on day 5 he's already gained just over 2oz so we're happy here. DH is taking him for daily walks when DD naps. We also survived the ILs today as well.

EauRouge · 16/10/2011 20:10

Jaundice AND in-laws? You need to rest now Grin

PenguinArmy · 16/10/2011 20:22

No worries, DH sent me to bed with the laptop after we put DD down and told me to MN Grin

He's finished the kitchen and is now running me a bath to soak my sore bits :)

TheRealMBJ · 16/10/2011 20:27

Good man! Grin
