Is there a breastfeeding while pregnant thread already?

If not would anyone like to join me?

Experienced and first time feeding while pregnant mums welcome. I'm almost 11 weeks with DC2 and am still feeding DS (15 months). We are currently working at night weaning him (although he is incredibly persistent) and he still feeds 3/4/5 time per day, although he is starting to eat more solids.

I don't know anyone in RL who has fed whilst pregnant or tandemed and it would be great to be able to share frustrations etc with others.

So please come and join me, or point me in the direction of the right thread

Has DS met Eliza yet? How did it go?

KD0706 · 07/10/2011 09:19

Hello everybody. Hope your first night as a mum of two went well moon

I've come on to moan about DDs sleep. I need to pop back in the thread to look at the links angel posted about sleep regressions. DD is 17 months, but if you adjust for prematurity then just 15 months.

Her sleep has just gone to pot over the past week. Last night was the worst. She woke at midnight and needed cuddled back to sleep. Then up again at 2.30. I fed her, though never sure how much she gets so I offered her a cup of cows milk. She wasn't interested. I tried until 4am to get her back to sleep. At which point DH suggested I take her into the spare bed. Can't believe I didn't think of that am hour earlier!

To be fair to DD she did then sleep with me till 8.45, so I got a long lie. But I am tired as she hasn't slept through more than twice in the past ten days.

Anyway moan over. How is everybody else?

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 07/10/2011 18:28

oh kd, you have my sympathy. Ds took the 15m regression badly. It lasted about four weeks. Afterwards he started doing loads of cool new stuff, including sleeping through...but that only lasted till the 18m spurt.

It is awfull when they're up in the night. Sleep whenever you can! And eat lots.

Back soon

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 07/10/2011 20:25

sorry, phone battery issues.

Ds is loving dd, or baby as he calls her (and signs). He keeps kissing her, trying to feed her and giving her toys. We've managed the odd simultanious feed at ds's insistance. He gets on one boob and indicates to the other and dd saying "more? Owa (other) one!" Grin

Last night wasn't nearly as bad as i'd imagined. I tried dd in the moses basket next to the bed but she didn't buy it so i coslept with both. There was a bit of a "plate spinning" moment, but dd was easily settled with one hand while i fed ds. Tonight might be a different story as she's feeding more now she's had a rest.

Are you ok mbj? Hope you're not in labour ...unless your dh didn't go to edinburgh. Grin

Need to re-find the tandem thread.

Just keep thinking how lucky i am to have had such a lovely easy labour and to have such a wonderful daughter. Grin

clarde21 · 07/10/2011 21:02

Congrats moon on your new DD, lovely name.

Glad its going well for you so far.

x

TheRealMBJ · 07/10/2011 21:33

Hi all

Just a quick one.

Sorry you're feeling down KD bad sleep is super shit Sad. No advice or tips here, sorry. We always just muddle through.

Glad to hear things are going well moon

I'm having more and more BHs and they are becoming more intense, but not even pretending to be painful yet. DH has suggested that he and DS sleep together from tonight. So we're going to try that.

Anyway, goodnight all.

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 08/10/2011 00:42

thanks clarde Smile how are you?

Good news re bh's mbj. Hope your new sleeping arrangements work for you. Smile

TheRealMBJ · 08/10/2011 05:52

No, they bloody well didn't Sad

SD woke up somewhat hysterical to be away from me at 00:30 and DH then bought him to me. It took over an hour for him to go back to sleep, although he was settled (he kept flailing about in the bed) and then wanted to sleep (literally) on top of my head for the rest of the night. Up at 5:30.

At one point I thought I was going to cry as I am so uncomfortable in bed anyway, never mind being pushed into some sort of contortionist shape.

Oh, well.

Sigh.

Back to the drawing board. DH will bring the single bed up this weekend, I think.

No sign of labour yet. (I could be saying this at every post for the next 3 weeks Grin)

KD0706 · 08/10/2011 08:15

Sorry you had such a bad night MBJ
I hope you find a solution that suits you all sooner rather than later.

Sounds like all is going great for you moon I'm pleased you're so positive and joyful.

DD slept actually ok last night. She was up at about 11.30, and seemed really upset so she had a big cuddle and some Calpol (I'm always worried it's her teeth). I got her settled in her cot again but fully expected to hear again from her, but she surprised me by going through the night. And she woke up in a jolly mood. DH has her now so I'm still slobbing in bed. Luxury. Fingers crossed I'll get a couple of full nights sleep a week even if she is going through some sort of regression.

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 08/10/2011 10:54

oh dear mbj. Sad can you catch up on some sleep while dh watches ds?
Don't worry about the "no labour" updates...i did that for ages. Grin

Kd we found ds woke a couple of times a week. Rarely consecutivly though one week at 18m he got up 5 nights. Sad

Ds woke last night (no suprise as passed out early) and dd wanted more milk so was tricky even with dh's help. But we managed.

Think my milk is in. And i've had a poo Grin sorry if tmi...post natal poo was a drawn out trauma last time so am pleased with this outcome!

TheRealMBJ · 08/10/2011 11:22

Congratulations on the poo moon Grin. I remember the major trauma of having one last time around so it is no small feat.

KD0706 · 08/10/2011 13:03

Well done moon
After I had dd I needed a suppository before I managed a poo. Probably made worse by the spinal block for the c section. Next time I'm taking dried prunes and apricots in with me and guzzling copious amounts. And next time I won't have had repeated foreceps attempts!!

I had it in my head that a regression would mean bad sleep every single night, it would be nice to have a few full nights sleep. I'm still in that exhausted, early pregnancy state.

loopyloo82 · 08/10/2011 19:38

I was so excited after my first poo this time too, Moon! Well done!

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh · 08/10/2011 20:00

thank you all for sharing my poo joy. Grin
