I am guessing that not going to boarding school and living with your parents would have also been hell on earth

@Fullspectrum

I have read this comment over and over and I genuinely cannot understand what point you are trying to make here. What are you trying to say? It does sound like her parents were emotionally neglectful (not uncommon for children educated in boarding school from my experience) but that doesn't minimise the hurt she'd have gone through when she was abused at school, if that's what you're getting at. 😕

I went to 2 boarding schools, the second one I joined my brother for sixth form. I, and my brother, and the vast majority of our friends loved every minute of our time there. I loved my parents and loved being at home. I don't feel I missed out at home or at school.

That was my experience. I'm balanced, independent, capable, not traumatised. Had great friends, had a great close loving relationship with my mum. Not so much my dad but going to boarding school was not the reason for that.

My dad went to boarding school and hated every minute of it.

Think it comes down to the school and individual. Like everything in life it's good for some and not others.
