Black People not taking the vaccine

Just wandered what you guys think about it really?

I'm a little sad about this whole situation. That we are so mistrusting and paranoid about everything, and forget about real problems that actually are holding us back, the vaccine not being one of them.

I fully get why we do not trust the government but I don't get why as a majority, when covid is killing us disproportionally, we are more concerned about long term (unproven) effects of a vaccine as opposed to covid which we know can kill and cause long covid.

Just wandered views of other black people here on this?

She has a very contentious disposition reflected in how she dealt with that journalist’s enquiry.

It’s just as well that she’s not part of the vaccine promotion.

I am really worried about the people I work with (small team of 12).

We have all been offered the vaccine as front line staff (Social Care). We work with teens (who don't stick to any rules) and have worked through out the pandemic. The team is 3/4 black 1/4 white. We are (all but 2) over the age of 50.

3 of the team have had Covid (all white). All of the white staff have now been vaccinated. All the black staff have opted out.

I know it is their decision but I am so so worried about them. We are a very close team who have worked together for 15 + years, they are not just colleagues. I've had one conversation but don't feel comfortable in keeping on at them.

I feel pretty lost.

I think, from those I know and myself that it’s a subject we can be heard on.
When you have. I voice or wheh your voice isn’t heard you will find any place you can to get noticed and maybe for a lot of people this is their place ?
Enough say no/decline and we get a platform
