Hey there - Pixie thanks. I'd like it to be noted that the dance floor was actually full just a bit further down. I wass doing my "silly dance" in front of my bro and sis who were "taking photos" of me. Or, as it turns out, using the "video" function on their new phone.........

Have a facebook request from an "SG" - anyone want to fess up to who you are?

annamama · 09/03/2010 20:35

Siamese - if you're still reading, good luck!

angfirsttimer · 09/03/2010 21:20

errr I think I am in early labour!

I am 41 weeks today. Had a sweep yesterday and cervix was 'unfavourable' but thin, had show this morning and now having contractions about every 10-15 mins for the last 3 hours. Think this is it, feels different to other false alarms I have had so maybe I will be a mummy by tomorrow!

Congratulations to the new mummies!

Somehow dont think it would be a good idea to watch OBEM at this moment in time!

annamama · 09/03/2010 21:25

Ang - how exciting! Good luck... (I'm off to watch OBEM now on sky+)

Sorry, I forgot earlier: thanks for adding me Arcadie, still confuzzled by all that newfangled technology but hey ho - got to look at some babies !

Siamese, wow, exciting! Hope you are in the throws of (very managable) labour by now. Very very best of luck - we do of course expect an update as soon as the chord is cut

Afribaby, you and me both: stay, baby, stay!

And Pixie!! You are still here ! Do twin pregnancies ever go beyond 40 weeks??

And it was IWCAS, I knew it, I knew it!! Dead cool names, too! Hope things were not too dramatic - congratulations! Really really hope you had a good birth with a supportive partner .

angfirsttimer, and very best of luck for you too! You're over dates, you had a sweep, it feels like labour - it likely is labour...

Oh, this is so exciting, it almost makes me want to have a baby ... oh, wait, I am - soon, ideally not until DH is off from Friday, though

I've got OBEM recorded for bedtime viewing

siamesecatwoman · 09/03/2010 23:50

hi! Quick update between contractions - went to MWLU and gave samples of various fluids! Everything seems good, and waters def gone, not just a big pee
sent back home to watch OBEM and start contracting which I appear to be doing with some force - cant believe how much 'water' there is - everywhere.. have had bath to wash off chlorine from aquanatal more than anything else!! (aquanatal recommended for inducing labour i reckon)

Now having hot choc and about to listen to natal hypno therapy cd.. am surprisingly calm and think is down to falling asleep to cd daily for a few weeks!!

Will check in at some stage but if I post to fb feel feel to share, Arcadie you can touch this

BelgianMummy · 10/03/2010 00:43

Arcadie I'm SG. I've been lurking but just can't keep up with the thread! Oh, and I was also ROFL with your video [.

Siamese Good luck!! I can't sleep so I think I am going to stick on my hypnotherapy CD too!

Pixie Very very impressed that you are still around.

I can't believe how many people have babies already. I really love all the names but am also relieved that my LO's name isn't on the list yet

I'm 39 weeks now and impatient for this little one to come out. I got horrible stretch marks today . I had acupuncture to try and get things going and as a result I can's sleep, baby is wriggling so much and the points were the needles went in really hurt! Not sure if it was such a good idea .

Right, I'm off to read what the MN-ers said about todays OBEM on the telly-addicts thread

PacificDogwood · 10/03/2010 00:48

Just to let you know: my waters went about 1 hour ago - looks like DS2 will have to share his birthday after all...

Mild contractions, phoned the duty midwife who gave me the choice to stay at home or come in, so staying put for the time being.

Good friend has arrived to babysit and do schoolrun - brave guy!

BelgianMummy · 10/03/2010 00:54

Ooh Pacific, how exiting!!! Are you having contractions already?

PacificDogwood · 10/03/2010 00:57

What are you doing up??

Yep, mild contractions, a bit uncomfortable but can still talk through them

BelgianMummy · 10/03/2010 01:06

[jumping up and down in excitement for Pacific and also hoping it will get baby to go back to sleep or come out!]

I can't sleep. Baby is wriggling too much! Stupid acupuncture.

angfirsttimer · 10/03/2010 01:18

Pacific, wanna keep me company? contractions mean I can't sleep, how about you?

BelgianMummy · 10/03/2010 01:23

Ang too! And isn't Siamese right in the middle of things as well? Is it a full moon tonight? A little of you lot but also very very excited. This isn't going to help me get back to sleep . I had better log off and put the hypnotherapy birthing thingy CD's on ... they usually do the trick. Keep us posted if you can ladies!!!

siamesecatwoman · 10/03/2010 02:19

you guys still there?
natalhypno whatsit cd didnt do its job but DH is asleep and Im using useful iphone app to time contractions which are coming for about 50 secs every 6 mins so hopefully that means I wont have to be induced tomorrow at 5pm.

I cant talk or type through my contractions, just sway from side to side whispering 'ouch! shit!' and breathing slowly and cursing the silly voice of the natal hypno whatsit woman..

Have eaten pinapple and looked at ICWAS pic - how cute???

Rindercella · 10/03/2010 07:09

Morning everyone.

Pacific & Siamese Good luck! Hope you're holding your new babies very soon

IWCAS's little boy is sooo gorgeous. Yet another lovely name too.

I've been up since about 5am, but managed to get to sleep at 11pm, so a whole 6 hours last night for me - not bad going at all! I have just done an Ocado shop so that I can chill out by myself when DD goes to playschool on Friday morning rather than doing the mad supermarket dash as usual. I think Ocado is going to be my friend for the next couple of months...

I have honestly never felt so down before. I physically feel broken and am just thoroughly fed up. Don't want to go on too much on here otherwise I will just bore you all. But I'm seeing my GP this morning and I am just praying she will order me bed rest (note: not me lying in bed trying to rest, and DH being so utterly crap he lets DD come and "play" with me). I have just had enough at the moment and am in bits again as I write this.

AfriBaby · 10/03/2010 07:44

Ooohh...pacific, after you'd given your bump a stern talking to as well. How exciting for ang and siamese too...sending lovely labour vibes to all of you. And congrats IWCAS - beautiful names too.

How 'convinced' should you be about the name(s) you choose? I have honestly felt more happy with names chosen for my cats - just a bit 'meh' about current baby names.

Rinders you sound miserable - do whatever you need to do to make yourself feel better, and if bed rest in a locked room is it, go for it. Hope you feel much better soon.

angfirsttimer · 10/03/2010 07:56

Rindercella- hope you get some help from the GP

Well after a whole night of contractions every six minutes still no change this morning. Am now walking up and down the stairs and sniffing clary sage oil in an effort to get them going a bit better.

Siamese- hope you are having more luck, your post in the early hours sounded exactly like my situation.

Pacific - any news?

annamama · 10/03/2010 08:30

Pacific, Ang & Siamese - sending good labour vibes to you! So exciting...

Oh Rinders - hope you feel better soon.

Didn't the 17 year old do well on OBEM? And her partner too, so much better than a lot of the pr!cks that have been on there.

OP posts:
Arcadie · 10/03/2010 09:05

Rinders Huge hugs to you. Hope you can MN from bed. Get friends to take DD out for nice times.

Ang1sttimer Come on baby!

PAcific Can't believe you're in labour. You have days to go woman ( ok, 1) and you were so determined to have as much mat leave as poss. Hope it all goes very well indeed and that DS has a nice birthday too.... My DH's Mum was in labour with him on his big sister's birthday. In fact all the way through his big sister's birthday party.

Siamese You go girl!!!!!!

Afribaby You'll probably grow into your baby names. I'm happier with my girl's name than my boy's but if you don't overanalyse it too much you'll be just fine.

snowflakesarahandco · 10/03/2010 09:15

wow good luck to all u ladies in labour!!!! its getting very exciting in here now!!!! lol

blonde36er · 10/03/2010 09:16

Rindercella hope the GP prescribes the bed rest you need

Am very excited and of those of you in labour, hope all is progressing nicely...am 40+13 today so have repacked my hospital bag, DH has booked Thurs/Fri off work with PL starting Monday and unless a miracle occurs in the next 24 hours, tomorrow it's hi-ho off to the manky hospital we go to meet this lazy baby of ours

Thoroughly enjoyed OBEM last night, the really young couple did so well - and her mum was so sensible (although I suppose being a paramedic helped!) Didn't understand why they got her off the stool and back onto the sodding bed to give birth though, surely she'd have been better left where she was with a bit of gravity helping? Even better to have left her in the pool surely?

Really felt for the other girl too, 8hours and only 3cm...but Kyron's little face...he needed lots of kisses!

Dalrymps · 10/03/2010 09:59

Morning ladies

Wow 3 ladies in labour very happy for you all and also . Hope you all have wonderful easy labours and are cuddling your babies very soon!

40+4 here, trying to stay upbeat but can feel my mood 'slipping' a little bit more each day as I reeeeaaally don't want to go 2 weeks over like last time. I'm bigger and more uncomfortable this time round, just wanna get on with it now.

OBEM has spurred me on too. I thought the young couple did brilliantly
