iggs does your pony nick chocolate biscuits when you go shopping? No? Well there you are, just use the same discipline technique on your child. Sorted.

Maybe I should write my own baybee book for people with horses?

givecarrotsachance · 22/02/2010 15:20

Gaspie you have no pizza-taste . Good to hear about giving up work. That's the spirit .

iggypiggy · 22/02/2010 15:25

Are you lot INSANE?????? There is only one pizza topping to have - Pepperoni, Jalapenos and anchovies.

I have not decided when to stop werk yet... what do you all reckon? I was thinking Fri 2nd July for official Mat leabe - then a couple of week of annual leave meaning I'll leave on 18th June? That gives me 4 weeks till due date? Will I need more?!

givecarrotsachance · 22/02/2010 15:33

iggs it's entirely down to how you feel. I'm not planning a date at all, just will stop when I stop, but my employment sitch makes that easier. A month is normally good TBH.

skihorse · 22/02/2010 15:56

iggy Legally over here you have to stop 4 weeks before EDD... so I'm using the EDD the midwives have given me (refused to update), rather than actual... so I've requested official maternity leave to start 4 working weeks before EDD but I'll stick a week or two on beforehand maybe... or go down to half days or something.

carrots I love your pizza questsion and feel it's an important one - people get too hung up on hot baths, hair bleach and repulsive views. Up with anchovies, down with pineapple.

Pizza should be:
i) ricotta and spinach OR
ii) 4 cheese OR
iii) anchovy and black olive

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 22/02/2010 16:06

Oh I love olives.

givecarrotsachance · 22/02/2010 16:07

ski how are you feeling today?

iggypiggy · 22/02/2010 16:10

I still have 4 weeks annual leave to use up before I go anyway... hmmm... all very confusing...

skihorse · 22/02/2010 16:10

Frazzled... I should go home really. First day back after a week off sick so it's all a bit much - combined with a painfully bad and unproductive meeting with a Belgian prick. I also spent about an hour trying to figure out the fucking next website to order a couple of things for me & baybee... only for it to throw an enormous strop at the final hurdle and refuse to convert my shopping basket to euros and let me have a forrin address. Then it wouldn't load the forrin version of the website. I haz given up - baby don't need no clothes yet.

fave pizza topping is pizza...

(I'm so not supposed to be here)

I was going to stop last day of june. Now thinking the first day. And I just found out I've been short changed five days hol a year for two years, so they might tie that in to mean a bit more money.

I just don't see the point in being there when I no longer care. And I have to drive to work, and doubt think I'll be fancying that when feeling like a beached whale.

skihorse · 22/02/2010 16:11

iggy Yeh, I have 8 weeks to use for 2010... so not sure what to do - and I want 3 in January 2011. I will figure it all out I'm sure.

I have finally got jailbait to agree to a week in the sun in Turkey in April and a weekend in Newcastle in May/June. Yay!

GrumpyGasper · 22/02/2010 16:15

ski I feel for you - go home and rest.
Thankfully my first day back has not been ad bad as expected. Still have shitloads to do but had sympathetic ear from worried boss.

Tomorrow might be a bit more tiring - I have to be up, fed, looking half decent, walk dog and get to train station before 06.45am. But It will be worth it when finally in pub with BESHes tomorrow afternoon. Sure I can snooze at conference...

givecarrotsachance · 22/02/2010 16:20

Blimey cas - what does 6.45am actually mean?

ski Not fun Soon home time at least.

iggypiggy · 22/02/2010 16:25

When you back to work then ski? I does get year off.... My leave runs until Aug - so I haz 4 weeks to use before then - and cos of Mat Leave - that means 4 weeks to use before I go on mat leave - or I can takes da cash innit.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 22/02/2010 16:33

Anchovies? ANCHOVIES? Frankly I find your views repulsive. Furry fish fgs! The only acceptable format is when TSF (or other skilful cook) smuggles them into my food without me being able to identify them (eg delish caesar salad of last night).

Otherwise - and obvoisly apart from the simply-wrong ham and pineapple - am fairly open-minded when it comes to pizza, although a recent favourite has been goats' cheese and rosemary and/or caramelised onion.

Ski - go home!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 22/02/2010 16:34

"Obviously", obviously.

givecarrotsachance · 22/02/2010 16:44

vag your views on goat's cheese are repulsive on the basis that goat's cheese smells and tastes like goats smell. And how on earth can you smuggle an anchovy into ANYTHING? I mean, even in tins they stink out the cupboard...

How are you BTW? You've been quiet.

givecarrotsachance · 22/02/2010 16:45

And weren't there some newbies around here somewhere???

iggypiggy · 22/02/2010 16:46

rots I am SO with you - goats cheese does indeed taste how goats smell (also please see sheep for this too) RANK

VAG is lovely to see you!

givecarrotsachance · 22/02/2010 16:55

Now obviously we understand from earlier in the thread that ski has a thing for goat's smell. I wonder if you could bottle it... if there's a market for goat's cheese, there's one for eau du goat.

Staying away from sheep is a good idea though.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 22/02/2010 16:59

Hmm - have not actually had any cheese-of-goat since the big updiff

Awww - it's nice to be missed! Have been lurking but not posting much as (a) am frantically busy (what do you mean, you can't tell?) - however today am v stuck on something so trying to get inspiration from talk of pizza and leaky nips.

Heh - almost forgot to put a (b) then.

(b) is cos not much of note is happening right now - just counting down to next scan (week tomorrow) - very mild symptoms still so remaining flighty and nervous and also in denial.

In other news - my jeans have a hole in the bottom - I wear jeans all the time so do I buy a new pair to fit me now (and these can be my torturing self to get figure back pair, not the gorgeous, expensive ones I bought last year which are really a bit tight if I'm honest) or assume I am going to balloon next week and get a mat pair? Reckon if I get a pair to fit now that aren't too snug I could wear for another few months....right? I'm quite that the Sept ante-natal thread posters are already in mat wear, when all I have is a rounded pot of wind at varying times in the day. When should I anticipate bumpagement (if next Tues goes well - if not all my cash is going on designer clothes and expensive foreign long-haul holidays....and gin)?

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 22/02/2010 17:03

btw rots I do not notice anchovies in tins by virtue of not going into kitchen cupboards - I have a chef for that sort of manual labour . He does however get a good telling-off if the anchovies are not cut up tiny/mashed to oblivion. I have suggested that capers are a salty, tasty, non-furry alternative to anchovies but I have been roundly told to Butt Out unless I am going to cook. So that solves that argument then.

GrumpyGasper · 22/02/2010 17:15

speaking of pizza, has anyone ever been to Fire & Stone near Covent Garden? I had a roast dinner pizza and SFF had a curry one. mmmmmmmm

Bumpage - from week 16 onwards I have been getting comments. Today I have been told at least five times that I am getting bigger/fatter. Nice.

VAG are you able to do BEShfest tomorrow? See FB

iggypiggy · 22/02/2010 17:16

I haz been to Fire and stone - they were doing some kind of meal deal - is gorgeous pizza - but service variable!
