Hello everyone! Welcome to the second thread! Hope you are happy enough that I've gone ahead with this title! If not, I won't be mortally offended if you ditch it and start again!

Here is the list - hope it is more or less up-to-date. Apologies if you're missing, please add yourself on. Pogue - we don't have you on here. Scared - are you still around? Perhaps you've moved to the May thread. Let us know how you're doing.

minimoonumbertwo · 30/11/2009 14:35

Hi everyone- took me a little while to find the new thread! Sorry haven't had a chance to update myself on everyone's posts but it's clear there's still a lot of horrid horrid sickness but also some lovely scan stories!! We had ours on Thursday and all was fine - and only one! - i have to say it has freaked me out a bit though, like, okay there actually IS a BABY in there, in a way it wasn't like the first time where i was thinking oooh a scan pic, a foetus kind of thing, this time was almost like looking at a pic of our newborn and i totally freaked!! Had quite a hard time with ds for first few months & got quite depressed so really worried that's going to happen again & how i'll cope with ds & new baby. Is anyone else having a similar experience??? Obv am very pleased tho!

fillybuster · 30/11/2009 16:41

12 weeks today...feels like it has taken a long time to get here!

welcome to all the new bumps - sorry, brain is like a sieve today so I can't remember any names at least gizmo has been organised (in between causing her dad to bleed copiously ) and has updated the list

absolutely shattered today - its actually been getting worse over the last few days: although both my dcs slept last night, dh and I took turns keeping the other awake . But no actual sickness here - still quite a bit of nausea (comes in waves) but it tends to pass as long as I eat something.

The weight is now starting to go on and the tummy is definitely 'showing'...my scan isn't until Thursday - I'll be glad when i can finally 'out' myself to everyone properly

I'd love your opinions, btw: its my sister's engagement party (family only) next Monday evening and she has asked if, as part of her speech, she can say "and fillybuster also has an announcement to make..." and then let me tell everyone. Its sweet of her to want to share the spotlight but I'm a bit uncomfortable with making a big announcement - I'd rather just tell my aunts/uncles/cousins quietly during the course of the evening - and it would be a bit weird 'announcing' flump to people I've never met before from her fiance's family - what do you think?

Saucepanman · 30/11/2009 16:48

fily I think that's really nice of your sister, she is obviously very excited about your news I would say if she isn't bothered then it is ok, but of course it is up to you.

gizmo · 30/11/2009 17:00

Oh that's lovely Filly! Although I know what you mean about making it a big announcement: maybe your sister could share the news - announce she's going to be an aunt (again)?

Shame about your job, Saucepanman. Terrible timing for the ideal thing to come up just as you're in the middle of the first trimester. Don't you sometimes wish you could just freeze the world outside for nine months until we've got the pregnancy thing out of the way and can get on with life?

stac14 · 30/11/2009 18:24

Thanks for the support ladies, I went to the docs today and I have a urine infection, which could be causing the pain but I am being scanned on Wednesday to make sure everything is as it should be, hoping it is.

fily that does seem a lovely gesture from your sis but I would feel the same as you about the big announcement, it shows your sis is more than happy with your news.

I have updated my date on the list

Hi all, had booking appointment today, which was fine, best bit though was that we got to hear the heartbeat MW thinks I am further along than my dates (or there's more than one...) as am big for my dates. Should get scan appointment in post in next weeks or so to confirm... From LMP I am just over 10 weeks but she thinks more like 13!

RnB · 30/11/2009 19:28

sorry about the job saucepanman...

Welcome to all the newbies

I hit 14 weeks today, and am feeling more definite flutterings Am unfortunately having another wave of sickness - thought I was over it

Hoping all is well with everyone

LittleRobbo · 30/11/2009 20:16

imkeepingmum could well be the threads twin bearer then

filly your sister sounds lovely hope you have a great night at the party

readysetgo · 30/11/2009 20:51

Hello everyone

RnB I'm so excited for feeling flutters! Are you meant to feel it earlier or later with your first? I hope it makes the sickness a teeny bit more bearable you poor thing

I'mkeepingmum My moneys on you with the twins! Good luck for your scan!

minimoon2 Congratulations on your scan!

goodname I'm glad you are feeling better

Filly How lovely of your sister! I know what you mean about having a fuss made, I'm the same. But it's great news so enjoy being made a fuss of!

Stac41 welcome to the thread! I have had various aches and pains throughout so far, although not so many in the last two weeks. My DR said everything is stretching around so hopefully nothing to worry about!

Saucepanman Sorry about the job On another note - is your name from the Magic Faraway Tree books?! I loved the books so much when I was a child I have saved the (now very tatty) books for my children!

It's my work Christmas party on Saturday. They are so going to suss as I do love a glass of wine! I'm still not saying a word until my dating scan.

readysetgo · 30/11/2009 20:54

PS: ohmygod, just realised next time we are all waiting for scans some people will be posting the sex! I am just too excited! (I'm at work still, these thoughts keep me going )

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/11/2009 21:15

Right, I'm marking on those who I can remember have had scans, or we're never going to keep track. Can you mark if you've already had one that I've missed, and maybe add the date if you know of a future one?

How did your scan go today Cadmum?

Hi ladies,

Just adding my scan date - it's on Saturday, which i realise is not long, but I literally feel like I've been waiting forever, given that we haven't heard a heartbeat yet or anything to confirm that everything's OK. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow. Most of my symptoms seem to have disappeared, so i really need to see this baby to believe it!

Whinge over. Welcome and congratulations to all the new girls! Lovely to hear about all the scans - keep them coming.

Haven't managed to read through the whole thread, so sorry if i've missed anything crucial.

Roll on the glowing stage! I still have huge black bags and spots...

woofie yes come on glowing phase!! I THINK things might be improving but i've still got really bad spots round my chin & my hair just looks dead & lank. Is there a home hair bleach that's okay to use in pregnancy? Or does it have to be super expensive trip to Aveda???

Work xmas do tonite yippee although not so yippee when everyone else is drunk & unfunny, methinks i'll be sloping off early...

RnB i love that you can feel your bean, I thought i could feel mine about a week ago but nothing since so i think it was just wind!

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/12/2009 15:27

i'm about to be very bored and increasingly cross. Have got a most likely pointless appointment with hospital midwife (pointless because already booked in with community one) which they said to allow 1 - 1.5 hrs for, arranged at school pick up time, and having arrived at a rammed clinic have been told that they are running late. It's 25 mins home from here, and I really need to be home by 5 to finish off tea, the makings of which are in the slow cooker. Grrrr. Good job I left dh minding a chilli on the hob as that will end up as dinner if I'm not back in time.

Nothing interesting to impart - just mindless drivel!

stac14 · 01/12/2009 15:59

Hey Ladies, scan for me tomorrow, mixture of excitement and fear. Were any of you like that? Will be good to have the wee pic showing things are ok, trying to stay optimistic as family said if the doc suspected and ectopic pregnancy they would have sent me straight to the hospital. Have managed to worry myself sick lol.

How are you all today? Hope the sickness is getting lesser for you all, as soon as they said I was pregnant I started being sick but it seems to have calmed down. Have any of you tried the magnaetic bangles for your pressure points supposed to allieviate sickness and nausea. Talk soon xxx

stac14 · 01/12/2009 16:07

forgot to say hope you get through the app cantsleep theres nothing worse than being stuck waiting around x

GibberingGinger · 01/12/2009 16:58

All bets on the twins are off. It's me. Complete shock. But scan definitely showed two babies happily floating around in their own seperate sacks. Am 10 + 5 so due 24th June. If they let me go that far.

Off to make lots of disbelieving phonecalls.

Just to add again

Saucepanman · 01/12/2009 17:18

blimey ginger- CONGRATULATIONS! Now go lie down

Horton · 01/12/2009 17:26

Oh my goodness, Ginger. How are you feeling? Wow! Congratulations!

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/12/2009 17:53

Oh ho ho ho ho, ho ho ho!
I was going to come on and laugh at all those of you who had money on me, as they did a mini-scan at my appt (I could see bugger all, but doc assured me that there was one baby with a heartbeat), but now I don't need to. I can just laugh at GG instead . Congratulations though - scary but exciting too.

readysetgo · 01/12/2009 18:44

Gibberish! Wowwweee! Now it has happened I am actually a little but also a little relieved! Congratulations Mrs! x
