Lol madamefreckle at internet 'research' my DH goes crazy at my neurotic googling! I mean, sometimes its really helpful but it really can scare the pants off you!

greensnail · 07/01/2010 09:36

LittleRobbo 200mg sounds fine to me. Hope midwife appointment goes well.

I'm wishing i'd seen the midwife yesterday now. Had a funny pain last night and can't remember feeling any movement since. Also, the washing up liquid I haven't been able to stand the smell of didn't bother me at all this morning! So now i'm going to sit still for a while and maybe eat some chocolate to see if i can feel some movement to set my mind at rest.

greensnail · 07/01/2010 09:49

Hooray, baby wriggling. Maybe i'll just have one more piece of fudge to make sure

fillybuster · 07/01/2010 12:01

Welcome LaTrucha (great to be on another ante-natal thread with you! ), wheredidmyfeetgo, hanjunebaby (I'm in N London, N2, and definitely up for a meet up sometime towards early March somewhere in N/Central London if there's enough of us around )summerhols and everyone else

Had my 16 week midwife appt at the hospital on Tuesday afternoon - all fine, and lovely to hear flump's heartbeat but grrrr...I had asked at the 10 week booking in if I could have 'shared care' again, as getting to the hospital isn't particularly easy for me and my GP is brilliant and just down the road. I was told that the new UCH policy is to do everything there....sigh....so I duly turned up for my 16 week check (literally 10 mins) which involved 3 hours travel and an afternoon off work, to be told 'of course you could have gone to your gp if you preferred' . Ho hum, hopefully that will be the biggest issue I have to deal with...

We had so much snow yesterday - was great that it was my day off...got to spend it having a great time with the dcs, building a massive snowman, drinking hot chocolate, playing with friends..really lovely. Was shockingly tired last night - I lay down 'just for 5 mins' after putting the dcs to bed, then dh had to wake me an hour later for dinner....could barely eat, I was so tired - just about stayed awake long enough to have a bath and was tucked up in bed by 10.15, which is some kind of record in our house .

Sadly, I had to come into the office today (all the way to south london) cos I really wanted to bunk off and play in the snow with the dcs and their friends....

GinaFB - hope you feel better soon

Gizmo - get yourself to the GP/midwife/hospital and get everything checked....you've been worried for weeks so something must be bothering you

LittleRobbo...you have to remember you're pregnant!! Sorry you're feeling so run down - hope the abs kick in quickly and try to take care of yourself and the littlestrobbo

DIMB - will definitely be thinking of you on Friday....please let us know how you get on as soon as you can

Mampam - sorry you've been having such a tough time....low blood pressure is definitely better than high....you've got so much on your mind at the moment, do you have any relaxation techniques that can help you when you're worrying about everything?

Saucepanman - I saw your thread on AIBU and just from the title through No, YA bloody well NBU!!! Didn't open it and realise it was you though! I think a) camp bed in living room (far less comfy), b) include BIL in rotas and make him help c) only cater for him if he is actually present at mealtimes and get him to contribute to bills etc (or at least make him 'pick up some stuff' on his way home after work etc), d) do not inconvenience your kids etc unless massively necessary and e) have a very strong word with your dh!! Good luck and remember we're always here for you if you need to vent

minimoonumbertwo · 07/01/2010 13:13

Hi London ladies - i am SW London but would love to meet somewhere central if that possible??

Bit bored of the snow now & if my dh throws another snowball at my face i may just explode.

MonkeyMargot · 07/01/2010 13:39

Hello LondonLadies - I am in West London so a central London meet-up would be fab.

Am working from home as roads near our offices treacherous. Am doing an incredibly tedious online training course. I might just have to poke my eyes out and replace with hot sticky apples.

fillyBuster I had shared care last time, and it was so much easier going to the GP rather than battling to find a parking space at the hospital and then finding enough coinage for a ticket etc. Was hoping for same again, but it seems that with twins you have a scan once a month, so treks to the hospital seem inevitable....boo.

goodname · 07/01/2010 14:13

Hi, just wanted to check if its normal to feel the baby move lots and then not really at all for a couple of days? Am 19 weeks just now and just feeling a little bit concerned cos baby is being so quiet. hmm

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/01/2010 14:50

At this stage goodname, yes it's normal, but later on (estimate say 25 weeks) it would be worth getting checked out (once you'd tried the usual icy cold drink, sugary snack etc tests).

Fabi76 · 07/01/2010 14:56

Good afternoon ladies! I haven't posted for a long time so I'd like to wish you all a belated Happy New Year

I had my 12 week scan at the end of November and everything went well, and just came back from the 16 week MW appointment. I heard the baby's heartbeat, it's so exciting everytime! but apart from that, it didn't last more than 10 minutes.

Hello Filly I'm also having the baby at UCH, so maybe we'll meet there in June.

I live in Central London and would love to join your meeting. Have a good day!

gizmo · 07/01/2010 15:00

Hello Goodname,

I've had just the same problem as you: if you've only had light flutterings and now can't feel them then it's probably fine, but don't let yourself get too anxious over it, most antenatal units will be very helpful in getting you a scan (or at least listen for the baby's heartbeat) if you call them with your concerns.

Thanks Filly for your comments: I didn't recognise myself from your description at first! Then I went back over my posts and realised it's true - I have been much more anxious than is normal for me for weeks and weeks. Even allowing for using Mumsnet as a therapist's couch, it suggests I should probably talk it over with a professional.

I'm actually feeling immensely better in many ways: small baby flutters have started again and my first antenatal yoga classes are both dealing with all the irrational fears and I have so much else to look forward to this year it would be daft to spend too much time with my lower lip wobbling.

Mampan nice to hear your husband is back on a slightly more even keel: I suppose the occasional set back is typical when someone is recovering from severe stress attacks, but let's hope the overall trend continues upwards.

And it's good to see so little vomiting! We've all come a hell of a long way in a few weeks; really encouraging.

It's finally started snowing properly in Cambridge: we've been looking at blue skies while the rest of the country gets buried. Dh is due to go skiing next week so I hope the airports remain open: it would be a little ironic if his flight was snowed off.

Fabi76 · 07/01/2010 15:11

Hello Gizmo, one question: where are you having your yoga classes? I'm in central London and would like to join a class but haven't found one yet. Thanks!

gizmo · 07/01/2010 17:16

Hi Fabi

I'm in Cambridge, I'm afraid, so probably not much use to you unless you are happy to try a 50 minute commute every wednesday night!

I'm surprised you aren't swarming with ante-natal yoga in town, though: are all the classes associated with gyms or something?

nikkisbump · 07/01/2010 19:22

Hi all! Can I join? I've been hovering for a little while but only just built up the confidence to post! I'm expecting my first baby on 27th June and I'm only just starting to believe that this little bean will stick after many MC's!! I'm looking forward to growing a bump with you all Nikki

LittleRobbo · 07/01/2010 19:24

Evening ladies midwife appointment went well and i am fully reassured, heard littlest robbo's heart beating away lovely, has to be one of the most comforting sounds ever Midwife also confirmed that the antibiotics i am on are fine even though greensnail had already sorted that one for me!

Suitably impressed with filly for remembering to name check everyone! so can i just second what she says lol!

Welcome summerhols

nikkisbump · 07/01/2010 19:24

LaTrucha · 07/01/2010 21:01

Congratulations Nickisbump

I just felt LO move for the first time . It's at exactly the same time as I first felt DD move - 15 weeks.

Fabi76 · 07/01/2010 21:07

Thanks Gizmo, I think that I will skip the commuting to Cambridge (though I've never been there and would love to visit). I suppose there must be many ante-natal yoga classes here in town, but just wanted a recommendation on a good one as I have no idea.

Have a good evening and welcome Nikki!

Woofie · 07/01/2010 21:15

Hello summerhols and nikkisbump and congratulations!

There are so many of you in London - any other grim-up-northerners on here? I'm in York if anyone's nearby for a meet-up. We've had snow here relentlessly for 4 weeks now and, can't quite believe I'm saying it, but it's actually starting to get a bit dull now.

I think I've got an active one on my hands - baby's wriggling around non-stop at the moment Next scan on the 20th.

Has anyone else read the thread about the "career women make bad mothers" getting pulled after a whole load of complaints from mumsnetters? I passed one on my way to work this morning, and it made me want to spit. Good work, ladies!

Woofie · 07/01/2010 21:17

Should say "career women make bad mothers" ads

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/01/2010 21:22

LittleRobbo - I think you copied an old version of the list as loads of people are missing too! Let's hope no-one sees that as the latest version and edits it instead of the one before!

Can't believe how many newcomers we are still getting - welcome everyone!

gaelicsheep · 07/01/2010 22:22

Hello. Just checking in again. I'm not on the list yet and I've no idea which version to copy and update. Can anyone copy the latest version for me which I'll then re-copy and update?

Snowed in here again but hoping we may get out tomorrow. Thankfully I've been able to work from home which has been amazingly OK with a 3 year old (a stroppy hyperactive one at that after being stuck in the house for days - can't wait until we can get him to nursery again!)

I haven't even bothered to make a 16 week appointment as I wouldn't be able to get there, but I'm anxious to hear the heartbeat for reassurance so it's a bit annoying. They don't do anything else important at this one do they? We're not having the screening tests.

Hope everyone's OK. Sorry to read about people's difficulties and I hope all are resolving themselves.

MrsAlwaysRight · 07/01/2010 22:22
