Hi everyone

I am, trying to ignore contractions too Mog.

God, why are people so useless??? The decorator came in today while I was out, to finish off the last bits and pieces, touching up where the builders or electrician made a mess. He did some of what I asked him to do and not the rest, so we still have holes and unpainted patches of plaster Hmm and he had been the most reliable of the lot so far, must go and find out what's going on.... oh and not forgetting, he painted the front of some built in drawers, and then shut them with no knobs on??? Errrrrr??

Hub, I will definitely tell CHarley you send your love. She did txt me this morning to say that Arlo might be allowed home tomorrow Then hopefully the lady herself will be on to tell her story!

I'm off for a cuppa and to calm down.

teabelly · 29/06/2005 12:17

Morning girls,

Just popping in quickly to say hi to those still waiting...at least the weather's a bit cooler for you now

RoseBerry - just wanted to add don't worry poppet, I had loads of false starts from 2 weeks before dd's due date and she eventually graced us with her presence 5 days after her due date...and you will know the real thing it, can't explain how/why but you just kinda know . Hope it happens for you soon, and you too Mog , and not forgetting Lippy too...!

Welshie LOL re the feeding through bra thing...he he he dd has been trying to do this as well...which is ok but I'm bottle feeding !

teabelly · 29/06/2005 12:19

x-posts there > now a cup of tea that sounds like an eminently wise idea ...durrr re the painted draws men eh!

eastyorksmum · 29/06/2005 12:34

Hi ladies I think were all a bit stressed today with all our stop start contractions I know i feel absoulty tied out just taking it easy today as wed tend to be the day we head for the labour ward. baby is very active i think hes trying to turn. I dont know about you but im sick of other peoples advice now decided to close my ears ( 4 sisters) I know me and hubby will get through this hes brilliant, and we only got married last year feb 14th this is his first child. So weve resigned ourselfs to induction if nothing happens although my other babies were about a week late (younges boy 16) so there hope still.

Anyway good labour vibes to all of us I cant wait to meet my little man will check in later xxxx

hub2dee · 29/06/2005 12:40

Ta lippy.

mogwai · 29/06/2005 13:51

Roseberry - I feel exactly the same about my stupid uterus!! I feel like car that ticks over but won't start.

Dh really quite fed up. He's an anaestetist on obstetrics and spends all day giving out epidurals and spinals for c-section, meets about four new babies a day bit it's never his own

I nwas in the car yesterday and that song came on "build me up buttercup". I was singing it out loud and laughing at the poignancy of the lyrics:

Why do you build me up? buttercup baby just to let me down

and mess me around, and then worst of all

you never call baby when you say you will

but I love you still.....

Ollie2005 · 29/06/2005 14:26

Hi everyone, thought I had better make an appearance a wee bitty late mind you Hope noone minds Congrats to all new mamas! Im now 3 days late but started contracting on Monday at 5 by 12pm in agony so popped up to hospital but I'm not dialating Dont know whats going on now as still having contractions and managing 1 1/2 hrs sleep here and there. Does anyone know what will happen if dont dialate soon or am I destined for a life of contracting bumpitist? I think I should go stage a sit out at the labour suite till they help me along.
Mogwai - love that song its on my labour CD but a ska version to hopefully help shake the baby out

eastyorksmum · 29/06/2005 15:05

awwwwwww love that song Moq reminds me of first dates with my hubby. Mother in law just called just to see if i was ok going round there for tea.

Hi ollie been in labour ward 4 times now and im 3 cm dilated 50 5 effaced cant seem to get any further so your not alone hugssssss my MW said if this was my first baby it would have been seen as established labour strange ey.

Hubby been home for dinner we were discussing induction and maybe that we have have got our dates wrong could be out by a week but who knows
just a waiting game.

mrsflowerpot · 29/06/2005 20:35

Hello everyone

Just a v quickie to say hello. Alice finally arrived with us on Monday morning at 9.30, another redhead and weighing 9lb 7oz (do I win???). C-section was actually a lovely peaceful experience apart from dh going missing when they called me to theatre (I had sent him off to get himself some toast), and I've come home this afternoon. Tired but fine and going off to eat brie and pate.

Hope you're all well, haven't had time to catch up properly, but good luck to all still waiting and Congratulations to Charley, hope all is going well for you now.

gwenynbee · 29/06/2005 20:35

Hello Ladies!

I hope that all the "ladies in waiting" are ok, and the new mums and babies!

Ooooh! The end is nigh!

Went to see my MW this am, and was booked into the FAU this afternoon, where I was assessed. The Dr there tried to give me a membrane sweep - but failed due to my cervix not being quite ready for it.

She was "down there" for while, and
"stimulated" the area. They've told me that that's often enough to get things started. Whilst I was there they booked me in for an induction next Tuesday if things don't happen in the mean time - can I still stay in here with you ladies - or will I have to join the July-ies!?

I feel really strange down below, and the Braxton Hicks seem to be much stonger - but that's probably just me being obsessive! We'll just have to wait and see, I am surprisingly cool, calm and collected - unlike my dp who looks like he's having kittens, and the shock of everything today has given him the squits!!!

Good luck and best wishes to you all as always

PinkArjuna · 29/06/2005 20:53

updated baby stats

Hope you ante-natal ladies are all doing well, btw, looking forward to seeing you on 'the other side' jolly soon!

Franniban · 29/06/2005 21:33

Hi girls,
Just a quick hello and to say, hang on in there, or not as the case may be! Lets hope all these contractions and funny feelings are the start of something.
Congratulations to Mrs FP and the arrival of Alice.

MrsWednesday · 29/06/2005 21:40

Well done Mrs Flowerpot - blimey she is a big 'un! Congratulations on giving birth to her and winning biggest baby

KVG, good to see you again. BH contractions always happened to me when I needed a wee.

Hang on in there girls, you are nearly there, not much longer to go now. No sign of Mogwai? I hope she's passively giving birth at the moment (that thread is hilarious).

katzguk · 29/06/2005 21:45

Ollie2005 · 30/06/2005 06:45

CONGRATS Mrs F and welcome little Alice what a beautiful name.

Hopefully EYM your nearly there! DP is snoring away soundly for the first time this week - I feel kinda bad for him but I cant remember the last nights sleep i got so tough Going to the hospital at 10 today with my handcuffs and flask This is my fist baby and am sooooo excited and sore that I cant wait for it all to be over. Everyone has expected me to be petrified as I am HUGE but I am crying constantly because I am desperate to meet my baba and everyone around me has got theirs already No Fair!! . okay maybe a little scared too tbh.

Bouncing out for now!!

mogwai · 30/06/2005 08:25

No such luck

Am still here So for my next trick....there's a fresh pineapple grinning at me from the fruit bowl (I hate pineapple) and there's a dh who is more than willing to have "relations" (that will be second to the pineapple).

My tummy is driving me mad itching. Someone asked what would happen at their 40+5 appointment - had mine on tuesday and wasn't offered a sweep, but there seems to be so much variation between hospitals.

LipstickMum · 30/06/2005 08:48

Morning all

I'm still here too Crampy-ness today as well. Hey ho. I have the day to myself as dd is off to G'ma's late morning. I'm going to get some last minute baby stuff and then go shopping for me to buy a new...lipstick!! I fancy something in a tube; glossy and sexy for after the birth to cheer me up!!

Well, you'll all be relieved to hear, that after 40+7 weeks of deliberation, dp and I decided on a name yesterday 2 in fact, first and middle This has been no mean feat I can tell you. I managed to persuade him that the one I had chosen could easily be shortenend into at least 3 of the diminutive names he liked I'm a clever girl!!!

I am going for a sweep today at 1, with my mw. I suspect that she will also make me an appt for induction next week if nothing happens before then. But hopefully, all the crampiness combined with a good streeeeeeeeeeeeeetch and sweeeeeeeeep should get this baby moving!!! Lol!!

I wonder if Charley and Arlo will be going home today??
