Morning ladies, have been lurking as nothing exciting to report!

I LOVE spreadsheets and can get quite obsessive about them . Peachy that was a brilliant list!! I have had my list written for a few weeks and just cross things off as and when i buy/find them.

Nursery is just waiting on the curtains to be delivered and then thats it. Last night i started on washing the teeny tiny vests, sleepsuits etc and today i will be washing the moses basket stuff. I know i still have just under 7wks to go but like a few of you other ladies i just want to be able to get it sorted and then 'relax' and wait for bubba to arrive.

LadyLush, i hope you and DD are doing well
NitNat, well done on completing the nursery
Audrey, great news on the placenta moving for you
MrsRadders, Welcome aboard
Neddie, how are you doing, are you still in one piece??

Had a busy weekend as i had a Massive MAY07 MN meet up at my house. There were 34 of us in total but only 12 adults, the 22 kids ranged from 13yo to 6mths. We were so lucky with the weather which meant that we could all be outside. We had people come from France and Nairobi which was super cool. For most of the ladies it was the first time they had met, even after chatting for almost 3 years!!

I dont know how you ladies can get your LG's waxed, i am such a wuss!! I try and attack it with the razor but can only really do 1 side properly - i must look a picture . Think its time to get the mirror out to help with that

Stealth, i have been getting a few KNUF's just recently that really take my breath away - just another fabulous part of being pg

BH's have calmed down for now although they seem to have been replaced by an Octopus!! She doesnt stop moving and still seems to be somersaulting away in there. Will be interesting to see how she is lying next wednesday at my 34wk appt.

For some special reason i have been getting nasty acid indigestion in the evenings even when i havent eaten for hours. OOh also have a lovely pain in my left hip that comes and goes. I dont think its SPD, but then havent had it before. All i know is that i get periods of time where i cant put any pressure on my left leg and it almost feels like when you need your knee to click (if that makes sense)

Can anyone else believe quite how quickly the last 7/8mths have gone by?? I think its quite scary that 'all of a sudden' we are less than 10wks away from having our bundles in our arms.

Sorry to those i have missed, but hope you are all doing ok x

blue76 · 29/07/2009 10:27

Morning ladies. stealth at KNUF. I've been getting that feeling. Baby is breech and seems to enjoy kicking me in the bladder/cervix. I phoned the community mw yday and told her I was worried about the baby being breech - it showed up on that 4d scan I had last week. WELL...she absolutely slated private scans! She said they cause undue worry and that it's perfectly normal for baby to be breech at this stage...

ladylush I hope things are ticking along smoothly for you and your family.

TigerFeet · 29/07/2009 11:54

KNUFs - oh yes indeed. I just assume that the baby's head is bouncing up and down on my cervix when she stretches - no idea if that's right or not!

I'm nowhere near ready to start packing a bag. I am far too busy with my spreadsheet . DH would take it a step further and create a database in Access with red, amber and green flags for tasks to start, in progress and complete. We have an exciting life

I have some nappies, but need to remember that I need stuff as well, maternity pads and breast pads and the like. I'm sure I'll get round to it eventually.

I agree with you AprilMeadow that the last few months have flown by, it's gone far quicker than my last pregnancy, quite possibly because I have dd to keep me entertained and occupied so I never get a spare moment.

Seven more working days to go... I finish on 13th August.

Thusnelda · 29/07/2009 12:34

I don't think it's been quick at all! We've been pregnant all year. Do you still remember the worst best snow in 18 years? That was when I couldn't bear the thought of coffee, or tea or any hot drink really. Didn't like chocolate either (back on track now). Then the first scan - there is actually a baby in there! That was when the daffodils were sprouting.
Maybe first pregnancies seem longer, mine certainly does. I do hear that from people a lot, my it's going quickly isn't it. Maybe if you only see me twice a year. For me, I can hardly remember what it's like to have a bladder that can hold more than an egg cup full! Or what the night is like after 10pm.
That doesn't mean I'm not loving it by the way. I'm really fond of my bump at the moment. I'm sure I'll miss it when it returns to being a slightly wobbly belly...

LizLemon · 29/07/2009 12:45

The beginning was slow, definitely - all those evenings of not being able to stay awake beyone 9pm. The middle bit went quick - super quick. My friend had her baby at the beginning of it and now he's 12 weeks old all of a sudden I think the end is going to take forever, but maybe that's just because I can't believe how much longer I'm going to have to sleep with pillows wedged between my legs.

Quick reminder if you want to join a london meetup to check out bigbang's post for an email address on page 17

also getting the KNUF. Fitz's movements have changed over the last week - he feels like he's trying to straighten himself out in there so I'm being pummeled in two places at once. Did it for about 15 minutes the other night, and didn't even stop when dh put his hands on my bump - he said he was astonished. Yeah, I said, try sleeping through it...

pebblebeach · 29/07/2009 13:02

KNUF.... a perfect description! Does anyone get anything similar like someone stick pins in the nipples too? Or is that just me.

Am pleased your placenta has moved, audreyraines, must be a relief to know.

Aprilmeadow that is a houseful! Sounds like a great get together

Am impressed at the organisation ladies. I am still on the (prettily formatted excel) list stage, will start putting it all together and washing clothes/bedding once I finish work next Friday. I was thinking about last time and remember that I ironed!!! all DD's little clothes/cot sheets/muslins/etc too ..... can't imagine having the time or energy for that this time round.

And as for bag packing... picture this... me at midnight standing in the bath in daze/panic/shock leaking my waters, while barking instructions at DH to get this that and next thing to finish bag packing - she was 10 days early but still... must be more sorted this time!!

SprinkleofStardust · 29/07/2009 16:44

Hi, have been lurking but couldn't think of anything to post!!

I haven't had the KNUF feeling, but have had sort of cramp/weird almost numbness feeling in my groin and crotch, which is very odd and makes me walk very strangely, god knows what people must think when they see me!! I have also been getting some strange prickly, tight pains underneath the bump regularly today, are they just more intense BH's or something else? Is anyone else getting them?

Was sorting out my desk at work today, and then moved onto the shelves in the office, picked up a plastic folder and managed to catch the corner of it right on the end of my nipple, OUCH!!!! My colleague found it quite amusing though, she has no children so will learn the hard way, lol!!!

I have to say that I don't feel that the PG has gone quickly, the 20's seemed to take FOREVER!!! Maybe it is because it's the first baby, haven't already got a LO to make the time go faster!!

We have everything ready for the Bubba coming, however nothing for me and the labour, lol!!! Will make some lists (they are fabulous!!) and will get everything on my first week of ML, only 12 working days to go, yay!!

Hope everyone is well and taking extra care in this very wet weather, things can get slippy!!!

BabyLady · 29/07/2009 17:04

Hi Everyone - 2 days of work left Can you tell I am excited??

Baby (now nicknamed TobyAva as these are our two names) has been super active, particularly at the top where I guess his/her little bum and feet are.

No KNUF for me, more just a bit of cramping every now and again and intenses pressure when I think the head must be pushing down on my plevic floor and bladder.

36 weeks today based on scan. I keep getting the weeks mixed up and go backwards.

Audrey, great news on the placenta moving - must be a relief.

peachygirl · 29/07/2009 19:30

I agree it does seem very soon now by numerical dates I have exactly 8 weeks to go-29th to 29th which was a bit of an eye opener this morning!

Minshu · 29/07/2009 19:36

No KNUF for me and I hope it stays that way

Thusnelda - I'm looking back at the winter in the same way and I, too, am back on track with my love for chocolate reinstated. There are all sorts of things I associate with feeling generally crappy (although I never had it too bad), but have poor impressions of restaurants I first tried back then, and even a handbag I bought at the end of the sales makes me feel uncomfortable Love my bump now, too. Time has gone far quicker for me over the last three months, compared to the first four.

14.5 working days left for me to those of you finishing sooner...

bigbang · 29/07/2009 21:55

KNUF- oh yes, very familiar. My mw said it can be linked to thrush, so if you have any other symptoms too then might be worth asking for some cream!

This pg has gone very fast compared to last time, it dragged on and on with ds! I cannot believe I am 33 weeks already, it only seems like last week I got my bfp. I just have the crib left to get, and stuff like maternity/breast pads.

Audrey so glad the placenta has moved for you, I really hope mine has. Will find out in 12 days! Must remember to ask them to double check the sex too- I have a funny feeling its actually a boy. Wouldn't mind if it was, just a pita having to take girly clothes back.

Those who have emailed me, have a quick check of your spam/junk filters if you haven't had a message from me, sometimes my email gets caught in them.

Ladyem · 29/07/2009 22:24

Hi Ladies

peachygirl Thanks for the fab list! I started to pack all my stuff tonight in my bag and was marvelling at how much better packed I was than last time, then read your list and realised I have missed out so much!! Lol!! Trip to Asda and Mothercare at the weekend to finish off!!

mrsradders Hi!! Hope your pregnancy is going well!

stealth LMAO at KNUF!! That is exactly how it feels!! Thank goodness lots fo you are having them too, I was really worried the other night that the baby was coming a little too early as I was sure a little hand was going to appear!! I had it with DD, but don't remember it being that painful!! Actually made me shout out when I was on the phone the other day !

35 weeks tomorrow, so getting excited now!! Have my scan on the 11th to see if I have to have a c-section or not. It does seem like I've been pregnant forever, too!

ladylush hope you and DD are doing ok.

daffodilli · 30/07/2009 09:33

Morning all! STILL raining...

Hi to mrsradders, I wont shorten your name ( Stealth!) Hope all going well for you.

Glad the placenta has moved Audrey and you get your HB!

That must have been a great meet up April, how lovely that people came from abroad as well

LOL at KNUF! Thats exactly what it feels like! I jumped a foot in the air the first time I felt it, was a heck of a shock!
Time has gone quickly, the first 5 months are a bit of a blur with the HG etc, and now we're into single figures...... I cant look at certain things as well Minshu, for eg I was looking through photos the other day and came across ones of 'The Great Snow' of 2009, made me feel sick straight away! Also the red coat I bought with my christmas money...shame as its very nice!
SPD kicking in big time now...spend my time walking around holding onto furniture etc - seeing MW on Tues for 34 week appt, and will ask for crutches to see if that helps. Can I just say a very childish BOO to the whole SPD thing?! I know it will be worth it though when bubs is here

Ladyem · 30/07/2009 11:27

daffodilli I say BOO to SPD, too!! I'm STILL waiting for an appointment after 11 weeks!! I only have 5 weeks to go, so I'll probably not get seen, but it is awful and I'm so glad it is only temporary!

daffodilli · 30/07/2009 12:22

Poor you Ladyem, 11 weeks is a long time, as you say once baby is here, the SPD will go. (and then you'll have your appointment through the post !)
Off to work now to cling to the filing cabinets...

blue76 · 30/07/2009 12:45

Re SPD - I was referred and seen quite quickly. However, even though I was in agony, I have to say I'm hardly suffering at all now. I've changed the way I sleep. I don't have a pillow between my legs anymore. Also, I reduced the amount of pillows under my head. The physiotherapist said that the height of your head [when lying down] has an effect on the position of your spine and pelvis. It worked for me, so just thought I'd post on here...

Been to gp this morning - got a chest infection now. Oh joy.

I hope everyone's okay - good news Audrey.

Ladyem · 30/07/2009 13:20

blue76 thanks for that info on spd. so should I be lying more flat, instead of propped up on pillows? I can see what you mean by how it would change the position of your spine and pelvis.

Daffodilli Hope the MW is sympathetic and gives you the crutches! You'll have to let me know if they help!! Although I'd never be able to chase after DD if I had crutches as well!!

DH confessed that I had started to snore now (Which I had suspected having woken myself up a couple of times!! Lol). Poor bloke, what with me snoring and groaning as I turn in bed to get comfy its a wonder he gets any sleep at all!! Oh the joys!!

Thusnelda · 30/07/2009 15:55

I snore as well. It's a great way of keeping me off my back as every time I roll onto my back I start snoring and get poked accordingly.
Anybody drooling though? I find myself dribbling onto my pillow as soon as I nod off! I'm sure that wasn't always like this..

Thusnelda · 30/07/2009 16:56

Oh, and for anyone looking for breastfeeding clothes, Frugi has got them (and lot's of organic baby stuff too) on Sale at the moment:
Frugi's Breastfeeding Tops
And you get a free blanket if you spend over £45... only until Monday I believe.

audreyraines · 30/07/2009 17:24

oooh they look so lovely thusnelda. am very tempted. have you bought their stuff before?

bigbang · 30/07/2009 18:17

Frugi stuff is great, I have one of their breast feeding t shirts (an old style, they don't have them anymore) and its lasted well. Very comfy, soft and gives you proper 'coverage' so no boob/tummy is on show, unlike some breastfeeding tops I have had. The baby stuff is lovely, the sizes do come up big though.

Thusnelda · 30/07/2009 18:18

I have bought a T-shirt (no longer available), I'm wearing it now! Definitely suitable before breastfeeding too as it's long enough.
I've also bought some baby stuff which is lovely. Just ordered some more! It feels like really good quality and some of the things are reduced by quite a bit at the moment - can't go wrong with a hat for £1!

pebblebeach · 30/07/2009 18:38

Thusneld... I'll put my hand up to drooling sometimes I have to turn my pillow over in the middle of the night to avoid the horrible damp patch

daffodilli · 30/07/2009 19:42

Thanks for that info Blue, might try to sleep without the long pillow tonight, and maybe less pillows under my head as well.

My drooling (sounds lovely!) stopped at 23 weeks, DH says I dont snore, but my nose whistles!! LOL! Poor chap, although it is kind of pay back for his snoring and leg twitching!

Lovely tops Thusnelda, that Diva Breastfeding dress is really tempting...!

blue76 · 30/07/2009 21:01

ladyem and daffodilli yeah the long pillow's been sacked and only 1 pillow under my head now. I just put one behind my bottom to stop me rolling onto my back.
Snoring and dribbling...? I do both!

Does/did anyone have breech babies at 32 weeks? This little one's bum is engaged I've been told that if she hasn't turned by 34 weeks, I'll have a scan to check her position. She then has until 36 weeks to turn, or else they will try and turn her - which can induce labour. Very scared...
