Trib, come to Manchester with your friend! I'll have coffee with you and we can compare bumps!
But seriously, I am sorry, your friend is being difficult.

BTW I haven't had any leaks so far, and never had with DD else....But I am having incredible BH these days! We are a bit ahead of you though! and is true that lots of people never feel/notice them!

Lua · 04/05/2005 13:41

Uwila, ggod luck with your appt tomorrow!
My DD also seem very worried about covering my belly! I wonder why? She does seem very excited about baby though. Today she told me once the baby is out of the belly, that she will carry the baby into her nursery for everybody to see it..... Predicitng this baby will have lots og head falls!

Lua · 04/05/2005 14:02

Ok I admit... I am bored today! But
look at this thread
for some fun and eye opening experience of who are the people on mumsnet....

katzguk · 04/05/2005 14:29

hey we could have a very quick impromptu meet up whilst trib is in leeds, i would happily pop up on the train from sheffield.

Branston pickles (Braxton Hicks!) i've get loads all the time and have been having them since about 20weeks or so. they can be quick painfull at times the worst is when junior decides to kick just the moment the bump has gone hard, nice!!

MrsWednesday · 04/05/2005 14:31

Good luck with your appointment Uwila! Will be keeping fingers crossed that you can get what you want. Surely having already had an emergency CS you would be in a position to request a planned one second time round?

My DS went through a stage of not wanting to see my belly but this morning he actually asked to see it (and my boobies for some reason). I've been telling him that the baby will be his baby as well as my baby and daddy's baby and he seems to like that idea. Not sure he'll be so keen when the baby actually arrives however.

Lippy, how's the decorating going?

katzguk · 04/05/2005 14:33

the baby in my tummy is not mine or DH's, DD always refers to it as her baby!! when i say and mummys and daddys she says no just mine!!!

Ahh that is really sweet. Perhaps you can get her to do some middle of the night nappy changes when it arrives then?

I seem to get braxton hicks when the baby pushes its bum out - I get a big hard lump sticking out of my stomach and it's very uncomfortable.

tribpot · 04/05/2005 14:41

Impromptu meet-up sounds like fun, it's most inconvenient that I have to go to work in my view. (Although how long for is anyone's guess). We'll be in Leeds all day on Sunday (recovery day after the travel!) and then I can probably do lunch or after work - earlier in the week would be better as I do suspect that once I've spoken to my line manager I will be sent off on maternity leave due to being completely useless. I do have plans on Monday night - one of my friends who can stomach (boom boom!) the sight of me in pregnant form.

Uwila - best of luck with the scan and consultant appointment. I have absolutely no doubt that you will get your caesarean!

katzguk · 04/05/2005 14:43

i'm DDless on mon wed and fri and start my mat leave this fri so anytime really. Happy to meet with or without DD!!

Lua · 04/05/2005 14:45

Meeting in Leeds would be fun!
How about lunch on tuesday northeners?
It would be easier for me to escape during the week without DD....

katzguk · 04/05/2005 14:54

this tues would be no good because i have an alternative therapies in labour session on tues lunchtime

mostly aromatherapy and homeopathy i think, but the midwife who runs it knows about reflexology and stuff

tribpot · 04/05/2005 15:12

KVG - theoretically I may be there for the first half of the following week, that's my first (and possibly only) week of part-time working. Like I say, I'm not really convinced they'll keep me around that long though.

Katz - will be interested to hear about alternative therapies, we have a class on massage in labour but I don't think it covers anything else.

what about weds next week? i can leave DD behind.

Should add that DH might not let me go!! i will be 36+4 and my waters broke with DD at 36+5!!! will have to run the idea by him!!

will pass on any information i get from the session.

MrsWednesday · 04/05/2005 15:47

I can't do next Wednesday as it's my last day at work, but will be free any time after that. On Mondays and Tuesdays I would be DS-free, but the rest of the week I'd have to bring him with me.

I'm happy to fit around everyone else but it would be nice to have a little meet-up before babies arrive.

(damn, should have put Katz down as first to arrive on the sweepstake...)

katzguk · 04/05/2005 15:48

sorry MrsW i did say that dd was early!! no one's got me, but then i do want this baby to be on time or late, not early i want to enjoy a few weeks off!

MrsWednesday · 04/05/2005 16:00

Yes you did and I completely forgot. I'm the same, I don't want another early arrival - DS came at 38+5 which isn't anywhere near as early as your DD but I still felt a bit cheated out of my nice, peaceful, lounging around time! At least we missed out on all the 'have you had that baby yet?' phone calls.

katzguk · 04/05/2005 16:02

also never got huge with DD, if this one arrives early then i think i will escape huge again!!

People are still taken aback that i've only got 5 weeks to go!! my office mate recons i look 6 months PG!! not 8!!

tribpot · 04/05/2005 16:26

I've started a meet-up thread in case the other Junies were getting fed up reading about our planned days of fun . It's here . Sounds like so far Thursday lunchtime next week is our best bet, although that's running the risk I have been sent home again.

DH will be with me but is so far declining the opportunity to meet up with a bunch of other pregnant women

tribpot · 04/05/2005 16:47

Btw, I shall be asking for tips on early deliveries (not too early mind you!). It would be more convenient for me if the baby came a bit early, my Mum informs me 13 June is the best date for her diary as well!

LipstickMum · 04/05/2005 17:00

Trib, I sent off your nappies today, first class cost £7.16p. My address is on the back of the parcel

Can't catch up, just logged in briefly to say hi. Am exhausted and so busy harrassing builders for the next week deadline . Fortunately for you I don't have time to go into it

Charley, dp liked the Didymos, but he is half German so it has an instant advantage. Thanks for the great links. I prefer the price of the Maya though Didymos is damn near 80 quid brand new, forget that!!!

Ok, bye all,

PS. AM jealous of a mini-meet!!!
