Hi! Sorry to be writing such long posts girls, I'm just not getting time to catch up during the day at the moment
I'm jealous of your slow cookers - it is something I've thought about before, you may have just persuaded me...
Berolina - wow, your working days are incredibly long! Not suprised you're shattered. Amazing the differences between the NHS over here and the German healthcare system! Do Germans pay a lot more tax?
Lynny - Thanks for the Strep B info, I'll look at that link and ask my consultant about getting tested. Oh yes, still doing Friday night curries, now I've been reassured that chillies can't hurt Bump's eyes! Had one last night too got on the scales this morning - I'm now at the weight I wanted to deliver at and my thighs are bigger than they've been in 15 years. There's no excuse. I'm going to stop eating 500g choccy every night and just having one curry a week.
Uwila - all the best for tomorrow - especially the cs thing! x The MWs on my hospital tour were really pushing the "home from home" rooms (x2). Do they have an ulterior motive for this do you think, or do they genuinely believe that pain relief-free delivery is the superior option?
Jonah - I don't mind hearing about your Sophie's sick! I'd post if Charley threw up on my clean carpets!
Trib - thanks for the Strep B link. Hmm, just been looking at the Tricot Slen - another interesting sling..... Shame your friend's being like that at the moment. It is hard for childless people to muster enthusiasm for baby stuff sometimes. They find it boring. They can't help it. I know, that's what I was like a bit , although not with close friends or my bezzy because none of them that still live in the UK have had them. Lol at your mum's "13th June" preference
Lynny - I'm going for the sling over the pouch because it's more adjustable, but if you get the right size pouch, then that looks dead easy. Not sure if I've had Braxton Hicks either ?
KVG - I sincerely hope you don't have to give birth in the street! How lovely of that customer services woman. Ahh.
Coop - isn't MN great when you're feeling moody - no face ache! I'd take the B test if it's on offer - but only if it's more than 50% accurate! Your poor friend! Is she ok about the birth now, or is she, like her dh, still a bit traumatised by it all? My god - fancy having to have a palaver just to get your baby!! and for the poor mite to have been bottlefed without checking first - that, along with the enema and shaving business makes it sound like a scenario from the 70's or something! I'd've gone mad too I reckon. At least you're aware of all this stuff though Coop and you can prepare/ask questions. but like you say, she was comparing that birth with 2 with epidurals - it's bound to have been a very different experience for her and she probably wasn't prepared very well. I wouldn't worry too much about your birth plan - mine's pretty comprehensive, but in the end it might not mean anything at all as things could easily be taken out of my control. Maybe you could just get your key concerns translated to hand to the staff? How thrilling - all those naked torsoed tanned, slightly sweaty young men strapped into manly parachute paraphenalia. Mmmm.
Lua - what techniques does your sis employ to get peopleto do what she wants?? I'd love some tips!
As well as Lippy, are any of you getting period-like pains?
Tea - at this rate you're going to MISS being in the office aren't you? Was today your last day then? Great!!
MrsW - Rolf at your dh's "man vision" my dp definitely has that!
