Sausagenmash- go 4 it. Finish early. You will really appreciate it (i have changed my plans at the last minute with previous pgs as i have just got too tired and fed up). I finish next Friday (woohoo) and only have 5 working days left, including 1 at home on Weds to do staff reports.

Frazzled- not sure about the fenegreek and whether it could help before the milk comes in? I only took it once i'd been bf a few months and noticed my supply falling off when expressing. Might be worth a quick google?

Belgianchocolates · 06/04/2009 21:59

Pula I've got the crusty yellow stuff too. Though I've had it ever since dd stopped bf. TBH, my milk never really dried up, even after 2 years I could still squeeze a drop out. I always wondered how long it would take to stop, it doesn't get mentioned in any books about lactation and then one of my colleagues whose sons are in their 20's said she's still got milk too

sausage If work is getting too uncomfortable then maybe it might not be a bad idea to stop early. If your dp doesn't mind and your boss doesn't mind, why not?

Very tired now. It's almost like the 1st trimester again the last few days. I've been dropping off by 7 o'clock! So off to bed now.

flippineck · 06/04/2009 22:02

I'm off too, night all!

pulapula · 06/04/2009 22:05

I am really tired too belgian. I was very lucky today though. My PIL came to babysit DS whilst i went to my MW today (as it was right in the middle of his nap time). I got back around 2pm and MIL said (when i yawned) that i should go for a lie down whilst i had the chance. I didn't refuse, and dozed on and off from 2.15 til 4.30 . I kept coming round and hearing DD and DS running around and playing, but i was so tired, I left my PIL to it . And they did my washing up, sorted the recycling and tidied the kitchen. I know i am very lucky.

Tummum · 06/04/2009 22:05

sausage go for it !! I left a week early (I am 36 wks) and I am sooooooo glad I did. It's amazing how much more relaxed I am being 'officially' off (as opposed to off sick as I have been for the last 10-ish working days)

LoobyLou36 · 06/04/2009 22:06

just had my 2nd go at expressing. only managed a blob of about 2mm last night, managed twice that tonight. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be able to start collecting it in the syringes to freeze?

detsy · 06/04/2009 22:16

Hallo girls - just a quickie from me as need to slob - tho DD not well today so have had a quiet day with lots of snoozes and snuggles.

Frazz isn't it crotch not crutch made me laugh a lot!!

Blotted glad it seems to be a UTI instead of bean making an early appearance. Stay resting tho!

Choc - stop panicking about your dress and take some positive action as everyone has suggested. I def prefer the tshirt sleeves/straps. There are lots of bra options for backless, strapless wonders and I'm sure you will find something - I know there are even stick on, push em together bras which I#ve used in the past. And at your size most of the options will be available to you so I'm positive you will get something without too much hassle Seamless brazilian style knickers would work I think (M&S have those and i find them comfy at mo as well) and i think the slip suggestions are also worth taking on board too. Good luck - get your retail head on!

Booking my waxing session this week - could take a while tho excellent practice for labour!!

Very impressed by you lot squeezing and squodging but i'm not playing that game. MY nipples are always mega sensitive in preg and can't bear the thought of it TBH - soory if that makes me crappy

Elvis is playing up so think will be heading off soon - just got stuck on dining chair so now slobbed on sofa in the worst position possible when should be upright on my ball, ho hum.

Belgian - thanks for induction advice again, seeing MW tomo and having a big chat with her about it all. Am pretty cool about it TBH as long as PIp is ok thats all that matters - he's currently somersaulting and doing his best fanjo / bum assaults so he's def ok at the mo!

detsy · 06/04/2009 22:28

Ohhh justhad the most scrumptious naughty pudding....serious pudd co, choc fondant with praline HD ice cream.... mmm mmm

detsy · 06/04/2009 22:29

hmmmm doing it again - talking to self... going to look at a new bag for hospital, labour etc still not packed - oops

frazzledoldbag · 06/04/2009 23:20

mmm detsy despite last weeks mini drama my bag is not packed either.......well, it's got a pair of pj's and some travel size shampoo and moisturiser in it. That's it. Not a very good effort from me.
My little bean has been assaulting my crutch (!) and bum today too, quite uncomfy and at one stage I thought he was trying to climb out.....not pleasant. Had been sitting cross-legged folding washing, shan't be doing that again in a hurry!
Right best go to sleep. Another busy day awaitsx x x x x
Good luck tomo detsy with your induction chat. Don't let them bully you. Am also seeing my m/w tomorrow - wonder what she'll have to say about my H/B. Wonder if she'll try to talk me out of it again....Apparently she'll need to come and check my house to see if it's safe for a HB!!!! Interesting. I have told her it's big enough and anyway I'm not hiring a pool as have a giant freestanding bath anyway but she wants to see for herself. Maybe we'll get to bond a bit more over a cup of tea (athough she keeps telling me it definitely won't be her that comes out if I go into labour....how can she be so sure????)
Well, surprise surprise frazz is waffling and talking to herself again. . Night x

frazzledoldbag · 06/04/2009 23:23

And yes detsy I think it is 'crotch' but I've heard some people say 'crutch' and it makes me laugh. And anyway moist crutch is surely the most shudder-worthy combination. [can't bring myself to write 'discharge' in the same sentence.]

frazzledoldbag · 06/04/2009 23:24

Oh and sausage yes, go on finish a bit early. Why the hell not? It'll be lovely.

Momino · 06/04/2009 23:55

evening all (sure everone's in bed). just back from a book club and catching up on reading whilst i sip raspberry leaf tea.

fi, glad all is well with your dad.

belgian, made me at getting milk out of those who didn't think they could. i can't imagine letting a mw do that to me! also, am feeling nauseous and tired like in 1st trimester.

sausage, do finish early -highly recommended. i'm so much more relaxed now i'm not at work.

frazzled, laughing at you talking to yourself again. you still awake?

detsy, good luck with your mw appt tomorrow.

blotted, you still ok?

about expressing colostrum. didn't do it for my 1st 2 either so prob won't bother this time around.

actually, i guess i've not much to say else. I should really go to bed as it's nearly midnight.

FiKelly · 07/04/2009 08:35

morning

i've definitely joined the moist club.. but nothing really coming out of my boobs.. apart from a tiny mm from one occasionally in the bath if squeezed! no hanky panky here either.. both too shattered from re-organising atm. but dh is v keen to do as belgian's suggested closer to due date & envious of jet propelled let downs.. can imagine it being awkward too though. last time i didn't have a let down.. major supply probs. hoping this time bf will work.

cote.. i'd go with your gut feeling.. i had a bad time last time and have v strong feelings about what i DON'T want this time.. go with the option that makes you feel safest.

i think ds is a bit off colour.. have had some extremely ripe nappies yesterday and this am.. having to double bag them to contain the smell! his right eye is bit red too. his energy levels and food intake are still normal so not too worried. really hope that a newborn and toddler is easier

lovely day here so far.. no playgroup because of easter holiday so think trip to park on cards instead..

llareggub · 07/04/2009 08:51

Morning all!

chocolatebunnies how are you feeling today about the dress? I also think the t-shirt sleeves look better. You'll look fab on the day!

Momimo I'm feeling a bit nauseous, too. I wondered whether it was the fish pie I made, so kind of glad that it might be pregnancy related.

sausage definitely finish earlier if you can! I finished at 29 weeks this time and I feel so much better in this pregnancy than I did in my last.

Having a major tidy up in preparation for the royal visit arrival of my mother tomorrow. Trouble is, my NCT group are coming over first so 8 toddlers are likely to completely undo all the good work! Ah well, at least it will be clean. DS is off to his grandparents for the day, so I've got a full day to get things done.

runningmonkey · 07/04/2009 08:55

Morning,

Glad your dad was ok Fi

No boob leakage here but do have a bit of crustiness from time to time (we really need a vommming/tmi emoticon don't we)

I am feeling all militant this morning - have emailed my local council to ask why they are the only ones in our county not to offer free reusable trial nappy packs. I also threw in a little known hint about getting a council tax reduction too as I know some counties do this based on your reduced household waste. Can't hurt to ask can it?!

Yesterday I spent loads online - bought nappy buckets, nappies, various other nappy based accessories and some nice mat pjs for me to take to hospital. Can't wait for it all to arrive now. We also bought some furniture for the nursery at the weekend and as soon as the carpet is down - two weeks today, I'll be setting it all up, am so excited!

It is lovely here too this morning. Am going to finish marking A level coursework (only 4 to go!) and then walk around and join the library.

Have a good day all.

Febes · 07/04/2009 09:19

Morning!!
I'm off to the library as well this morning for Toddler Time. I haven't been since summer hols when we went to Baby Time so I'm quite excited and its free. Then I'll come home via Boots as I have 4123 points I can spend. I'm going to get new face cleanser and stuff for my hospital bag. There are big black clouds here so I hope I miss the rain as I have no idea where my rain cover is.

I haven't rung the council about incentives for reusuable nappies as we moved in JUly so its a new council for us. Merton didn't do anything but maybe Sutton will I'll ask when I'm up at the library. I used reusuables with DD till she was about 9 months when I went back to work 4 days a week and found it too much washing and I don't think my CM would have been to happy about using them. I want to use them again once I've finished work as I've got all the stuff and definatley with LO when he or she arrives. Its easier in summer too.

Febes · 07/04/2009 09:20

I have a pulse in my eye lid I must be tired.

frazzledoldbag · 07/04/2009 09:21

Morning lovelies
Busy day on the cards for me today so just checking in. Just wanted to add myself to the nauseous group - keep wondering what I've eaten/if I've got food poisoning brewing/tummy bug but then nothing comes of it. Have concluded it must be end of preg nausea but it's not very nice is it? Felt icky again last night, had a cup of Redbush tea and a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes and felt fine again. It's like morning sickness in reverse.
Sunny here today after a wild night of weather. Enjoy your days everyone. x

frazzledoldbag · 07/04/2009 09:23

febes ugh I hate it when that happens (eye twitchy thing). Had it a lot in early pg. Uck.

EmmalinaC · 07/04/2009 09:37

Morning ladies

Sausage I agree with the others that if you have the opportunity to finish early you should take it! Last time I worked until 36 weeks which I felt was too late so this time I stopped at 34 and I've really enjoyed it!

Febes 8 toddlers in your house? Good luck! I get so nervous when DD's little friends come round en masse...

Frazzled Detsy and anyone else who has m/w appoinments today, hope they go well.

DD is at nursery again today so I'm about to sink into the sofa to watch Homes Under the Hammer before the cleaner gets here!

Belgianchocolates · 07/04/2009 09:38

Morning everyone.

My nausea is just getting worse and worse. For some reason I crave redbush tea, as if that's going to make it better . I don't think lo has dropped yet, so hoping for that to happen soon and maybe the nausea will go after that. [wishful thinking emoticon]

Detsy, let us know what's happening with your induction and the like.

Frazzled my mw didn't say anything about checking the house is safe. She is coming on Thurs though to deliver the h/b pack and discuss the labour. It was supposed to have been sat, but she'd had a h/b that night.

I hope blotted is OK today.

I was thinking about my hospital bag (always good to have one ready even if you're planning a h/b I think ) and I just realised that I didn't pack any toileteries whatsoever, nor is there a towel in there. So I think I'll have to go and sort that out this week.

There's a scaffold tower in front of our house since last night to fix the leaky bay window (about time too, it's been leaky for the last 6-7years) and when ds saw it he thought it would be a brilliant idea to climb from his window onto the scaffolding. I've got to see the osteo in a bit, so I'm a bit worried now, because I know dh would let him do it and I've got visions of ds falling the first floor window.

Right, going to get dd dressed now, because she's clearly not going to do it out of herself.

sausagenmash · 07/04/2009 10:37

What's redbush tea? It sounds like the stuff that mma ramotswe drinks in No 1 Ladies Detective Agency...

Ta for the thoughts re finishing early. Going to find my manager and see what she says.... omg, that will be NEXT WEEK. There's no point stressing out about work, its not like jobs won't get done... I'll just have to leave a big 'to do' list for the Registrar to do... and we all know how fab they all are, eh?!!

Phew. Fancy a kip already!

Jael · 07/04/2009 10:40

Morning.
Thanks for replying about the expressing. I'm not sure whether I'm going to be BF this time or not, I did with DD for the first 2 weeks, but I was in so much pain from my CS I had to stop, that and the fact I was bleeding so much, and no-one had showed me how to latch her on properly or anything, I guess I'm just supposed to have known...nice day here to, I'm going to pop into town on the bus with my sister for lunch, get DD out for some fresh air. Jael X

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 07/04/2009 10:52

sausage

Redbush is the Bush tea that Mma Ramotswe drinks!! It's not tea but is kind of like tea if that makes sense? It's the most glorious red colour and I am addicted - caffeine free, full of antioxidants.

I drink it without milk, but it's nice with.

I do know of a couple of people who think it's horrible though.

And finish next week, you know it makes sense!
