(i had to look up WI...)
I've driven through there! I'm from Winnipeg (we were going to Ontario to visit relatives)
how long have you been over here?

Bleuravin · 13/03/2009 17:00

4 years now. We were pracically neighbors (only 1220km from eachother) How long have you been over?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 13/03/2009 17:02

7 and half years, still can't believe it's been that long! (and i still haven't picked up the accent!)

purplemonkeydishwasher · 13/03/2009 17:02

is your DH british?

Bleuravin · 13/03/2009 17:03

I've only been to Canada once, when I was quite young. We drove to Toronto. I remember how neat it was that it was a different country, and how kind it was to make all the signs in English so people from America could read what they said too... (at the time I thought all countries had different languages)

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 17:04

you must love wales then Bleu

OP posts:
Bleuravin · 13/03/2009 17:06

Yes he's British, half Welsh, half English. I cannot say I've picked up an accent yet either, though I do have some of the phrases...and living in Wales I've picked up the valleys habit of saying things like... I'm going to the shop I am.

BoffinMum · 13/03/2009 17:07

I am mentally giving her a whack right now.
Oh yes, there is the blood.

I am also collecting virtual cheesecake from Bleu's house and virtually transporting myself over to Nutty's house to scoff cake and have some disability solidarity over coffee with an oramorph chaser.

My kids are fighting because of the tension and begging me not to sack her.

Whack whack.

brettgirl2 · 13/03/2009 17:07

Boffin, I am absolutely that that man didn't let you sit down in the closest available seat. That is absolutely outrageous !

Bleuravin · 13/03/2009 17:09

Lol nutty. Can you believe I had a friend over who did not even notice the fact that there was Welsh--or a foreign language on the signs! It was a real eye opener about her personality actually for me.

I do love Wales. More than I can say.

BoffinMum · 13/03/2009 17:11

I am whacking him very hard now. Whack whack whack. Actually for a virtual violence experience this is a lot more cathartic than it really ought to be. I was mean and told DS2 not to play with his daughter any more and that they weren't a nice family if they deprived disabled people of seats.

There is another mum in the class who lost a leg recently and we limped out on our various walking aids and bitched together about him. He is wierd anyway. Old, greasy, strange social skills.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 17:12

Boffin - background music for AP bashing here replace my with the

come on over, always welcome

OP posts:
Bleuravin · 13/03/2009 17:12

Glad I could be of assistance with virtual cheesecake Boff.
It does seem so very strange to me about her, not something I understand...she must not have answered the phone on purpose? Was she possibly in a dead zone?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 13/03/2009 17:12

i'm the same with the words and phrases. and i have a horrible habit of punctuating my sentences with 'but'. and my parents think it's HIlarious that i say some words differently now. (garage being their favourite)

actually, you aren't completely wrong about the language thing. Winnipeg is part french so all our street signs are in both languages.

i wracking my brain for the name of a place we drove through in WI that had a really funny name... or maybe it was just a sign for a place.... this is going to bug me now

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 17:13

Bleu - i loves it i do!!

OP posts:
PuzzleRocks · 13/03/2009 17:15

Oh yes Boff, I forgot to say that about the man making you move. What a dickhead charmer.

BoffinMum · 13/03/2009 17:16

Great soundtrack, Nutty. Also puts me in mind of the infamous Buccaneer/Enya mix of the same track, which always make me laugh.

Let's do oramorph tequila style and see how stoned we can get and still stay pg.

Bleuravin · 13/03/2009 17:17

Wausau?
Waupaca?
Kaukauna?
Pulaski?
Manitowoc?
Oconomowoc?
??? ???

BoffinMum · 13/03/2009 17:17

Bleu, she was just being somewhat pathetic and uncommunicative.

PuzzleRocks · 13/03/2009 17:18

Is Bleu speaking in tongues?

BoffinMum · 13/03/2009 17:19

For those who have missed previous references to the Buccaneer track.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 17:19

Boffin - you are on my friend!! [clink]

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 13/03/2009 17:19

It looks like an language aptitude test to me. Maybe I have been reading too many educational books lately.

BoffinMum · 13/03/2009 17:20

Down da hatch, Nutty my lass.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 13/03/2009 17:20

lol
nope!
maybe it was just that something funny happened there. i can't remember. it was the last trip i took with my family... so it was a few years ago...(like 16...yikes)
