Place your bets on how long this thread will last, my guess is two weeks!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Aww, how sweet! I can't wait to start buying little things of my own - I've not bought a single item of baby cuteness yet, only practical things. I'm so good!

& mathsmummy, much as we love you if you want to send FAM to come & make our acquaintance, that'll be fine...

Yay for changed date! Excellent! Just as well you knew about the grant, though

& Nutty, DP sometimes says that he wishes that he could do the pregnancy bit for me. I always laugh at him & say we'd clearly never have children if it was up to him to do this. It's bad enough when he gets a cold.

I really can't. But it's just as well that I've been on a tight budget recently - I'd have spent an absolute fortune that I don't have on impulse buys.

My baby seems to keep burrowing out of my left side recently - he really seems to think that that is the way out, stupid thing

nutty thats a lovely elegant bump - once again makes me not want to post my own as i think there would be rather a lot of flab as well as bump - but i'll maybe give it a go one evening and see - maybe it looks worse from the mirror that it does if you are facing me [hopeful emoticon].

thanks for the great tips Boffinmum - i'm not sure yet if I'm doing a power point, but i like the tip about cartoons and the 20 min thing - will definitely keep that in mind. Its not the most interesting of topics, so will a good challenge to come up with some ways to make it less dry, and actually keep them listening.

puzzle - once gain respect for the cathing up - you'll need to have a rest after all that - but not too long or you'll need to catch up again .

mathsmummy - lol at fam coming on to post for you. am still so impressed that you have one at all. and great that your mw changed your dates. might be worth a few others asking if some are prepared to.

had such a good sleep last night, just by swapping sides of the bed with dh. ds still ended up in our bed, but he slept nicely between us instead of horizontally, pushing me right to the edge over an hour or so. dont know if he was confused by the changed sides or what, but it seemed to work.

and babybolat - think you should be mentioning mathsmummy's fam to your bosses - at least if they wont provide you with one, they should give you catch up/posting time as part of your antenatal care.

conkertree · 15/01/2009 09:12

not sure why a whole lot of letters seem to have been missed out of my post. sorry - either bad typing or i will blame it on the keyboard. hope it still makes sense.

BoffinMum · 15/01/2009 09:20

Just off for a free extra scan now, as I have volunteered my body to medical science so students can learn scanning techniques.

I am trying to decide whether to be good and take my marking with me, or to do it later. Only 30 assignments to go!

Hardly slept last night and needed midnight feast again - getting very bored with being pg now.

Ciaou ladies!

PuzzleRocks · 15/01/2009 09:35

Nutty - So glad you got your baby stuff off the wicked witch. Let her stew! Ooh DH downloaded Shoot Em Up the other week. Might give it a shot then.
DH concedes he would be totally crap at being pregnant although he often says if he could do it for me he would. Sure babe!
Love the bump.
DD has that doll. It's from ELC isn't it?

Thanks for the reassurance ladies, glad to know i'm not the only one with a swollen undercarriage.

Springy - we do a mean impression of Kermit and Miss Piggy too. I don't look too dissimilar to her at the moment either.

Mathsmummy - thanks for the info. DD is 20 mths now so I guess I should start trying. She has had a potty chair for a while so she is familiar with it and what it's for.
Great news on the HIP grant.

PuzzleRocks · 15/01/2009 09:38

BoffinMum - of your free scan. I can't believe the next time I see my baby will be when I have pushed her out.

Bleuravin · 15/01/2009 10:36

Morning all, I'm taking a break from the moving of furniture and sorting I think today because I'm so tired. I hardly slept last night and only got up this morning because when I rolled over at 9:30ish DH was still in bed and he's supposed to be at work at 10 at the latest and he really wanted to get in early because he has cycling this evening and needs to make up a few hours also. Not going to happen I'm afraid; he's a bear to get moving in the morning. Made me think that I'll really have to try hard with the night feedings not to disturb him too much so he can get his sleep in and be able to get up at a decent time. I'll hopefully be able to catch up with sleep in between daytime feedings.

Maths- So you got your due date changed for the HIP did you? I was thinking of asking myself since my EDD is the 4th and the start of the HIP is the 6th... It would help so much to buy the mattresses or to even get one of my family over for after the birth...Though DH keeps talking about stereo speakers, but I feel money for the baby should be put towards Sprite's wellbeing- or mine since we're one in the same right now- that's reasonable isn't it?

There was something else I wanted to comment on but I've plum forgotten...perhaps I'll remember later.

conkertree · 15/01/2009 11:57

sounds like a good idea to have a day off furniture moving. what are you up to instead?

i am so very bored at work. i have looked up everything i can think of on the internet. really i should start sorting through some files to make a hand over really easy when i go on mat leave, but just cant get the motivation up.

am absolutely starving which doesnt help. might have to have a snack now and then go out at lunchtime and get some more food.knew i should have taken more for lunch.

ok just waffling now. where are you all???

thebluefoxategreensocks · 15/01/2009 12:02

I'm just cleaning house! Lots of fun - not! Tho I like the results anyway, so best to keep working, huh? Got the downstairs dusted & hoovered (gets very dusty in the winter with the solid fuel stove burning coal & wood fulltime). And just finished cleaning the bathroom - so bit of progress. But there's always more to be done!

Schulte · 15/01/2009 12:03

Just a quick one as am about to go into a meeting - Springy poor you with your being sick, I would have been furious, surely one can expect a bit more sympathy?

Annabel Karmel - love her, I cook AK meals every weekend and DH and I really enjoy them!

Sore eyes - no still struggling, they are red and weepy every morning, I wonder if it will ever stop?

Bleuravin · 15/01/2009 12:12

Oh today I have my feet up and I'm catching up on emails to people back home... I also bought a carpet washer and some new cordless phones off Amazon. I have to say I like internet shopping. Though I have to watch myself so I don't go crazy.

If I feel up to it I may go up to the nursery and start bringing the weaving stuff down to the hobby room; even if I only do one tote an hour I will still make some decent progress. It would be nice to have the nursery all cleaned out by 'close' tomorrow as we're getting the cot this weekend.

I am really starving too. I must be a good girl and eat real food, though all I really want to do is eat chocolate because I'm SO tired...

conkertree · 15/01/2009 12:17

i am even contemplating going to Macdonald and getting a wee hamburger and fries. somebody please tell me not to be stupid and to get something a bit healthier. (Have too much time on my hands to think about food)

Bleuravin · 15/01/2009 12:21

mmmmm Hamburger and fries... God help me that sounds good...

conkertree · 15/01/2009 12:49

noooooo Bleauravin - you were supposed to say that the baby wont like it and you should go and get a nice ham sandwich on granary bread. oh so tempted. wont get a big Mac or anything - just a wee hamburger.

hmmmm.....
