Place your bets on how long this thread will last, my guess is two weeks!!

OP posts:

researching two things just now - what do you think?

  1. TENS? - hired one last pregnancy, shall I buy one or hire again ? guess if baby is cut out due to breech or some other complications would be a bit gutted to have bought one but hiring is expensive too...what do folks think?
  2. BABY CARRIER - bjorn last time which was borrowed was great but not for a heavy baby - maybe get the more expensive active or go for a sling thing like close or kari me, but dh unlikely to want to wear...
...arhh help!? this pregancy thing is full of decisions even seconf time round and i am so not up to it, had a cry when dh got in as to whether I had chosen the right shoes for ds today!

Evening! I've just caught up (that took hours!) & read everything, but won't stay long because I'm so tired. Despite doing nothing all day

I wasn't going to post at all yet, but saw that you lovely ladies were wondering where I've been, so thought I'd reassure you that I'm fine

I got back late last night & had a big argument with DP (not big by our old standards, but still - amongst other things, I found out that he went to the pub with his ex-girlfriend for whom he 'still had feelings' since being with me, then went back to her house at closing time 'to see her new dog'... I was far too hormonal to be okay with that )

We've had a lovely day today, though. In fact I'm still only wearing my knickers underneath the duvet spread out on the sofa (frekkles, I'm with you on the sex thing - the more the better, thanks!)

Nutty, how annoying about your back - when I was catching up I was really excited for you & wondering if you'd even be around when I got to the end of the thread. The disappointment I felt on your behalf was pretty great, so goodness knows how you feel. Bless you xx Hopefully they'll sort something else out that can help a bit - they seem to be being far more dynamic now, so fingers crossed...

Barbarella, I have nothing but admiration for you - & massive yays for the Pick & Mix babies you have in your tummy! I can't wait to know if it's two pinks or two blues! How exciting & even more exciting that you're into single figures for weeks left! I can't wait for your photos - I was thinking the other day how excited I am about everyone's babies, not just my own. I can't wait for us all to start popping

Boffin, you're so lucky to have a chance to float around in lovely, warm water & flirt with a sexy man on the NHS! I'm not sure that I'd quite suffer the SPD for it, but it's a close call Make sure you enjoy him enough for all of us!

Sorry if I've missed anyone out, I'm trying to be quick & there was just soooo much! Hope you're all okay xxx

Okay, I can wait a few minutes - DP's doing stuff on his laptop anyway. How are you?

I've seen a picture of the dog, but I was so pissed off. She's a real poisonous bitch. She's cheated on several boyfriends with him in the past, so is hardly morally unquestionable. I've only met her once, near the beginning of our relationship, & she was just out & out rude to me. DP was playing pool in the pub with her boyfriend, & she was there with another girl (who she happens to have sex with every so often, without her boyfriend's knowledge) & I tried so hard to make conversation with her & get on with her, but every time I spoke she just glared at me & spoke to her friend. Then when DP was around she would answer me, but only with the bare minimum.

He was a bit obsessed with her for years & she got used to the attention. I trust him, but I don't trust her an inch - she'd definitely try something on given half a chance, mostly to just prove a point. She's such a cow

DP did tell me that he'd been out with her, but only when it was that or lie about it - he wasn't exactly forthcoming with the information, probably because he knows that it was a stupid thing to do

As for your back, I suppose at least you know that there's no magical cure right now instead of just wondering whether or not you're simply not being referred to the right people. Obviously it's awful, but it removes the 'what if?' factor... Still, I really feel for you xx

I had a lovely time in Brum. Spent a long time with my friends on Tuesday, sat in a pub chatting for a few hours which I've not done in ages & had a really good laugh. Had a great time with my dad on his birthday - spent the evening watching old family videos I cried when I saw my little sister when she was a newborn. She was so lovely & I really want mine!

Have you wrestled those clothes from MIL yet?

Haha, I know - he said earlier (after it'd all blown over, luckily) 'I got really covered in dog saliva!' & I had to fight so hard not to say 'I knew she must've tried it on!'

Send DH round to fetch them? Say that you want to be able to thank the lady properly & need to be able to see what's been sent so that you can sound sincere about it, or something. Alternatively just bop her over the head with a frying pan & take them without bothering with an excuse

It's not petty at all - it's her own stupid fault for putting you in that position in the first place. If she could be a reasonable human being you wouldn't find it necessary to avoid contact with her. & it's great that you're able to go back part time - it'll be lovely to be able to fit around your children. It's the best thing about us being students, I think - for a start, we both get the entire summer off together with our newborn

Pinkbump3 · 10/01/2009 00:25

Pink, don't worry about catching up - it really is almost impossible if you miss more than a day!

Not sure about the photos, sorry... I'm not very good with those things. I'm sure somebody here will know tomorrow, though.

& Nutty, yeah, there's a nursery that takes babies from 6 months - perfect timing I have no idea how I'm going to hand him over to begin with, though. They'll have to escort me out in hysterics...

Yeah, it shouldn't be too bad. & I'm sure I'll get to the point where I'm glad to get rid of him for a few hours

I really must go now. The bump is going crazy & bulging all over the place, which must indicate that it's my bedtime & so I'll enjoy the next couple of hours of almost-sleep so tired...

I'll be back tomorrow, I'm sure. Try to get some sleep as well, you two! xx

Oooh, shoulder rub!!

Actually I feel a bit sick too, as well as the SPD. I'll have an apple and ginger tea and a cucumber stick, if you've got one.

BoffinMum · 10/01/2009 11:44

Went out for dinner last night to gastropub -very nice. Had sweet potato and feta salad, braised beef and dumplings and plum and fig tart with creme fraiche. Very pleasant indeed. DH told jokes.
