The thread was getting far too long and taking ages to load.

London meet is a week away. I don't have to get the train until 10.30 this time Could someone tell me which tube line to get from Paddington?

Computer plaing up and I am struggling to post.. let's see if this works...

katzguk · 11/04/2005 12:15

bit quite in here today!!

do we need a new thread soon? this one is getting to the 500 mark again.

katzguk · 11/04/2005 12:17

just checked and it will be the due in june thread number 13 - so a witty title is called for, any ideas?

MrsWednesday · 11/04/2005 12:38

Hello everyone! Spent ages catching up with the messages since last Thursday, then I had a meeting, then when I came back I'd been turfed out of my office because we are having new carpets fitted.

Also suffering from mood-swings here (like the Alton Towers comparison, that's so true!). I feel like crying today, I'm so tired (DS woke up at 5.22 precisely, having had a nightmare and wanted a cuddle and neither of us got back to sleep. DH slept through it all of course).

Katz, your nursery looks fantastic. I feel quite ashamed that I have made no effort whatsoever for this baby . Still haven't bought anything.

Lua, was thinking the same thing about the baby movements. After a hectic day last week, where I was being booted all over the place, it's slowed down a lot, almost to the point of worrying me. I still get movements fairly regularly but not as strong. Are we due about the same time?

Sorry for everyone's woes and troubles. Lynny, after your experience first time round it's not surprising you are stressing - I can't believe your midwife etc aren't being more helpful and sympathetic. I'll join you in a virtual bottle of wine (you can have the cheese, but I want some of your pate).

Hi

I'm new to all this - pregnancy and web chat! I'm due end of June and feeling huge - can't believe I've got another 11 weeks of growth. EEks

I need some advice please - I've inherited a Mamas & Papas pine cot bed well used by my two nephews. I'd like to give it a fresh coat of varnish but am struggling to find a varnish that is suitable for cots. Any ideas?

welshmum · 11/04/2005 13:02

KVG - Big congrats - what great news to get - well done to your hubby and to you (behind every great man etc....)I raise my cup of herbal in your direction.
Kategg - welcome to our world. Are you on baby 1? Do you know what you're having etc? We've got a stats thread running withing the Antenatal clubs with all our details in - please feel free to add to that.
As for the varnish I'm afraid I wouldn't have a clue - my dh might know though, I'll ask him if you like.....

LipstickMum · 11/04/2005 13:12

I can post!!

Well done Mr KVG!!!!! What a relief!!! Crack open the Champers tonight

Welcome KateEgg Congrats on your pregnancy! Is it the first? I'm afraid I don't know about varnish safe for babies either, perhaps you could put up a post on the 'other subjects' topic... Or, you could wait for our resident DIY expert to come on line, Charleypops, she may be able to point you in the right direction. All I know is that I would probably get a new mattress that you can use for all your offspring!

I am Mrs Moodswing here too Although I spent most of the weekend crying over various things. It all started when I came home from my parents on Friday to discover the builders had... done absolutely nothing The weekend was generally nice but had this underlying feeling of me about to cry or blow a gaskett at any time!! Today I am feeling 'up' and trying not to worry about it too much, it will be finished, it will be finished, it will be finished...

...and just to prove it I'll post the same message twice

Think I'll just get back to my tax return

Lua · 11/04/2005 13:15

CONGRATS to Mr. KVG!!!! and second welshie: behind a good man there is always an even better woman! So congrats to you too!!!
Welcome KateEgg! and congrats on your preganancy!
I have to say I am quite panicky about chemicals and new babies! So take my advice with a grain of salt! My very personal opinion is stay away from them!! You could get a coat of paint that is designed for children furniture (i.e. non-toxic and no emissions) pretty easily. If you want to varnish look labels carefully, and choose one that has water as solvent and low emissions. The most common paint can continue to release emission for years!! Your bigger problem though will be to have stripped though. But perhaps someone else can do that for you?? Sorry, I am not being very positive, am I??? But as I said... I am terrfied of these things....

Mrs. W, I think you are due about the same time, JUne 3rd? Is freaky when it changes so drastically from one day to the other isn't?

Lua · 11/04/2005 13:17

Lippy - it will be done!

LipstickMum · 11/04/2005 13:19

It will!!

How's the driving going Lua?? Drivers at the moment are crazy, especially in London. I ahd a few close shaves last week, peopl just do wtf they like! I suppose they wouldn't get anywhere if they didn't.

MrsWednesday · 11/04/2005 13:34

Well done Mr KVG!!!! Great news for you both.

Lynny, cyber wine has gone to my head. Better not start me off, I'll be typing gibberish and embarrassing myself. If only I wasn't at work, I'd go and have a lie down and sleep it off.

Hello and welcome KateEgg. Sorry, no DIY tips from me, I know nothing about that sort of thing.

Lippy - threaten your builders with a whole gang of pregnant women (with raging hormones), that should keep them working.

Lua, I'm due 7-13th June, so yes, quite close to you in dates. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing it.

JonahB · 11/04/2005 13:50

Hi All,

KVG - fab news about Mr KVG!! So pleased for you both.

Lipstick/Charley - how do you know what sort of things to put on your birthplan? Is there some sort of template which you used? I want to do one, but have no idea where to start.

Trib, glad DS has arrived safely, although sounds like there'll have to be adjustment time, esp for their DD.

Wow Katz, your nursery is fab!!! I LOVE the idea of glittery bugs. Who is the artist in your family? Did you copy them from a book? Fingers crossed for your DH. My DH is going part time to look after the born-bump. He's going down to 2 days a week at work. I'm keeping all my fingers crossed that he enjoys it - we're up sh*t creek if he doesn't, financially speaking.

Lynny, sorry you are having such a traumatic time at the moment. I hope by tuesday everything is okay, the worry must be horrid for you. That is so funny about the phonecall though.

I'm so glad its not me who's hormones are going AWOL at the moment. My poor DH. I think he also wishes his normal, rational wife would make a return visit soon

JonahB · 11/04/2005 13:52

Can I mention that I have a lovely young man currently cleaning the carpets/sofa's in my house. I'm thinking lecherous thoughts......... Poor lamb, i'm sure he would be terrified if he knew....

katzguk · 11/04/2005 13:56

congrats my KVG hopefully its a sign of things to come for the due in june men!! hpoefully my DH will get the job he's applied for too!!

any thoughts to a new thread title (No 13)

what about Due in June 13 - the final countdown!

katzguk · 11/04/2005 13:58

johanb - i have to confess that i scanned images that DD had picked from one of her booked and projected them onto the wall, and coloured them in with tester pots of paint. We have a fab paint shop at the end of our road which can mix you any colour of paint you like in a small tin for £1.95, i think i bought about 12!! i can ask them about suitable varnish, i want to do the play pen but think iw ill paint it with the left over nursery paint

Scraggyaggy · 11/04/2005 14:04

Not ANOTHER new thread - although not that new anymore!!!

Hope you are all keeping well. Will post when I have a bit more time - am constantly on the go lately....

Scraggyaggy · 11/04/2005 14:06

Tea - News was about QC!! x

teabelly · 11/04/2005 14:16

Afternoon all,

Gosh as ever it's a nightmare to try and catch up when you've been off-line for a day or two or four!! Too much to try and comment on, but here goes abit...

Katz - fab nursery - do you hire yourself/dh out?? BTW I'm glad to see I must have good taste too, as we have the same cot mobile as you do Not sure about the name of the new thread...reminds me of poodle haired soft metal group with lame number one in the mid 80's (showing my age here!!)

Pink - glad all went ok with the doula, and your happy to team up together...bugger about the washing machine tho...hope it's all sorted soon.

KVG - Yeah for Mr KVG!!

Charley - how sodding typical is that about the pram!!!!! If you can't get an earlier one I have one of a selection you can borrow in the short term till your new one arrives...or you can hire at reasonable rates from Chariots on hire for a few weeks if necessary.

KateEgg - welcome and congratulations

Lynny - what a nightmare with your scare...LOL at the phone call this morning - would like to be shocked - but somehow am not!

Lippy - it will be done

...and so my plumber saga continues [groans and rolls eyes skywards emoticon]...having to call out specialists now as plumber is stumped...luckily he's a very nice man and has frozen his bill to us, love him, so we're not looking at remortgaging just yet!!!!

Anyone win on the National?? As per usual my nag fell at Beachers, but my Nan - bless her it was her 85th Birthday as well, and she was downright embarassing whooping in the middle of the betting shop as her horse came in...still at least I now know where I get certain character flaws from, he he he!

teabelly · 11/04/2005 14:18

Scraggy - how wonderful! Am so pleased
