Do you think Kays had baby Kay yet?

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 12/12/2008 15:16

Wet and dark here too!

I keep clicking refresh for news of baby Kay. Hope she and he are doing ok.

Playingthe9monthwait · 12/12/2008 15:20

So do I Ses

LaSparklyTourEiffel · 12/12/2008 15:33

Phew, some frantic catching up for me there to check I hadn't missed the action! I fell asleep at about 11.30 and have only just woken up! I can't beleive its 3.30! Oooops!

It looks like someone had a party in my bed, I'm surrounded by plates, mugs, cups, an empty biscuit packet, some post and parcels and DS pyjamas! Oh yeah, that would be me then...

I also need to go and put dinner in the oven I guess, I made a casserole yesterday that's been soaking a while.....I just need to remember to cook it today!!

Oh well, at least I'm able to sleep, unlike you lot with your DC at home and I'm not houseproud like NJ - the place can stay upside down for now - I'll tidy it next week, as I'm off then too

(Not gloating really, I'm not )

Now, we've got champagne in the fridge, is celebrating the first wagon baby being born a good enough excuse? I'm sure I can convince DH...

GruffaloSoldier · 12/12/2008 15:37

Hello there!

Im back from my visit to my friend and her almost 4 week old son. They are doing great and he is GORGEOUS!

Just had a quick catch up - come on baby Kay!!

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 12/12/2008 15:38

Definitely a good reason LaTour!
Sounds like you had a good sleep!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/12/2008 15:43

LaTour i'm of your 4hr sleep!!! I'm still suffering with a tiny dull headache (remains of migrane) and suffering heartburn too.... feeling sorry for myself as i accidentally washed my last pack of rennies in my jeans the other day and keep forgetting to buy more!!

OP posts:
GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/12/2008 15:46

ooh

come on Kay... get pushing my dear!

All so exciting. Wish every day was like this... no pressure Tink and Nat for similar excitement soon!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/12/2008 15:48

Glask to rennies actually work for you?

Anything like that makes me feel sick when not pregnant but heartburn (usually an afternoon and evening treat!) is getting bad now...

Can preg women take anything like Zantac?

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 12/12/2008 15:50

GYo - you can't buy Zantac over the counter if pg and I've only rarely seen GPs prescribe it. They normally persist with prescribing Gaviscon.

LaSparklyTourEiffel · 12/12/2008 15:55

I had zantac during pregnancy - its Ranitidine isn't it? The gaviscon bounced with me, couldn't keep it down, its like drinking snot ffs. (Can you tell I REALLY don't like it). I also can't stand two flavours - peppermint and aniseed - the only two flavours the god awful stuff is made from. I tried. I really did

I ate ALOT of tums before I realised that I was massively overdosing to try to stay on top, and was prescribed the ranitidine when I had the gall bladder attack at 29 weeks - but it wasn't diagnosed as that at the time, I've only just worked that out from recent experience! At the time they thought I'd burnt my oesophagus with all the MS and heartburn, hence the ranitidine. I thought is was perfectly safe though as it doesn't cross the placenta apparently - same as Tums and other heartburn meds (IIRC)?

DS came out alright

LaSparklyTourEiffel · 12/12/2008 15:57

KK - if you're lurking can you have a look at my post on the TTC board? Ta.

As you were....

F5, F5, F5 for news on Kay....(refresh to those not in the know)

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/12/2008 15:58

The rennies chews worked perfect with my VERY bad heartburn with DD.... but i can't seem to find them this time, onl the chalky tabs, but they do work for an hour or so.... then once i eat or drink again it comes back... i can normally last on about 4 tabs a day though.

OP posts:
glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/12/2008 16:00

ooh get you LaTour- with your F5 (refresh for those not in the know)

OP posts:
storkycake · 12/12/2008 16:01

hmm, she went into at 8.30am this morning so that makes for a 7.5hour labour so far....I reckon she's either just had him or is coo'ing and slurping champagne

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 12/12/2008 16:01

Thanks LaTour and Ses..

Wow latour sounds like you had bad time with heartburn!

Ses- you cant legally sell ranitidine to pregnant women? quite surpised... But my DH could buy it for himself and give to me.

Or I could take his Lansoprazole thats prescribed.. (dont worry I wont! )

Im unlikely to do anything non othodox but thought of gavison makes me want to heave!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/12/2008 16:02

have just checked my facebook for the first time in about 4 weeks... anyway, just seen my little sister has updated her status... says she's out on the P* tonight!!! and also looked back over a couple of weeks at her status updates and lots say 'suffering with hangover' 'on the wine tonight' etc..... she's frigin 32 wks PG.... i'm really upset that she's doing this still!! I knew she was still drinking, told my mum to have a word with her about it as she wasn't listening to me... and seems she's still doing it!!

OP posts:
storkycake · 12/12/2008 16:04

F5 for turns the sound up

Right I have my chiro appt now so fingers crossed by the time i get back we'll have some good news.

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 12/12/2008 16:04

Yes - ranitidine is the generic name for Zantac. The only reason it's use tends to be limited is because there's not been any testing done in pg women. There's no chemical or physiological reason it oculd cause harm but because the manufacturers haven't tested it they advise "avoid unless essential in pregnancy" (whatever that means!)

We're now into LBOT's time slot which is the last on the list!

storkycake · 12/12/2008 16:07

GP wouldn't give me it last time Ses.

My heartburn has left me at 30 weeks so maybe you've not got long Gyo.

Right really am off now....

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/12/2008 16:08

still no text from Kay- i bet she's had him!!!!
