Can you believe it!!??!!
He has only just gone and bloody latched on when I posted that last post. The flaming cheek!!

I've just reserved that book from the library. So is it good then?

sorkycake · 17/12/2008 18:23

bloody brilliant!

I think I might well have given up b'fing if it wasn't for that book with Ds2 because I had flow problems like you (too much) and the frothy green poo's which meant he wasn't getting the hind milk, which meant he was on more regularly, getting too much foremilk again and the circle continues.

It's there if you want it though Kay. It's a tough time the early days as both you and ds get used to feeding and your body learns to respond to how much he needs.

We're here if you need us though

Dh has just got takeaway and been to Boots to pick up my free change bag. It matches the P&T perfectly, I'm very happy!

LaSparklyTourEiffel · 17/12/2008 23:53

Evening all, DH is snoring gently next to me so must be quick

Glad everything is Ok Sorky and speak to you in the morning - hope kids have a better night for you too.

Kay, hope you get some good rest too, it sounds like things are starting to settle down, even if it doesn't feel like it to you. But, you must, must, must spend some time with hot flannels / showers etc because of your boobs feeling hot or you may get mastitis - red flushed skin around your boobs can be a sign as well as the hot feeling? Just wouldn't want you to ignore anything that can be easier fixed sooner than later?

Anyway, that's enough from bossy knickers me, catch up tomorrow....g'night all x

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 18/12/2008 07:54

Morning all- is this the first time i've EVER been the first to post on the wagon in a morning????

Keep having funny nights sleep... if its not one of the dc's waking and then me having to check on them (which has only started happening in the last few weeks, before that they slept straight through) its that i can't get comfy... bump is now too big to lie on my front like i normally do, and lying on my side i then roll over just as i drop off, and am then woken by a squashed baby girl fighting me to get off her!! Or DH has taken to stealing the quilt- he hasn't done that in ages!!

though no bad dreams, just odd ones!!

I wrapped all DS's bday presents last night, was really proud as i had just enough wrapping paper to wrap the last one... then i turned around and there was one left that'd fallen behind me!! gutted- have to buy another sheet of wrapping paper today, and now his presents off us will be in 3 different wraps... i did his main presents in one paper, the little girts in another and now there will be an odd one too!! i'm almost considering re-wrapping ALL the little presents so they are all the same, but DH says its just a waste of paper and DS wont be bothered- but I will!!

OP posts:
sorkycake · 18/12/2008 08:02

Could you hide the different wrapped one and send him on a little picture treasure hunt for it?

Better night all round last. Baby slept with us though so not much progress on that front, but he didn't keep us awake so we didn't really care.

The Ds's coughs have gone to their chests and sound rather croupy this morning. Dd has yet to get up but I'm dreading the melodrama if she's worse too.

Kay it sounds like you could be getting a blocked milk duct.
I'm afraid as with most b'feeding probs, the best solution is to keep putting him to the breast more often. Change his position if you develop a lump so that his suck/chin works to clear the lumpy bit. This will get the duct flowing again.

I know it must be tempting to give it up and FF but please bear in mind that this will make the blocked duct worse and may lead to mastitis.

I hope you've had a better night

sorkycake · 18/12/2008 08:07

Oh Kay can I just add, that you might be 'doing too much' too. Plenty of feet up and resting needed for a good couple of days.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 18/12/2008 08:09

sorky- that sounds like something he'd love to do!! i may have to see what i can do now!!

OP posts:
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 18/12/2008 08:11

Morning

Sorky, so glad everything was OK, I did come and check when we got in but as I thought didn't have time to post, typical that you got back a few minutes after I went! I can never remember which way round the 2/5ths palp goes, I think it means she can palpate 2/5ths of the head, so 3/5ths would be engaged, but it could easily be the other way round.

LOL Glask, you sound as obsessive about wrapping as me! I am actually putting off doing it, even though it really needs doing because I just know I haven't got the patience and manouvability (can never spell that!) that I need to do it properly! DH said he'll do it, but I think I scared him with the scowl I gave him! LOL

Went to get the tiny supplies yesterday, the nappies are absolutely tiny Can't believe they will fit anyone. Didn't get too far with the clothes, I was planning a weeks worth of vests, sleepsuits, 3 cardis and some little hats, but Next had barely anything in for tiny babies and MC was kicking out as we pulled up, I managed to get 3 sleep suits, a pack of 5 vests and 4 little hats in Next, but that isn't nearly enough, and no cardi's, and since I am guessing the main problem will be keeping him warm I thnk we do need to get them. So, depending on what time DH finishes tonight we are off to Preston, they have a bigger Next, M&P, Babies R Us, and something else but I've forgotten!

Also had really horrible dreams again, I don't know why I keep dreaming the worst, am not allowing myself to think about it during the day at all, so it isn't playing on my mind or anything.

sorkycake · 18/12/2008 08:23

They got me straight in and started poking and feeling and looking and listening. Apart from a VE I think I had the lot.

Basically they don't know what it is but aren't too concerned at this stage either.

I hope she stays head down too.

My kids love treasure hunts Glask. At Easter they have to hunt around the house with the picture clues they find. Dh draws a pic of the washing machine and then would put another clue inside the washer door, which would lead them to somewhere else. Lots of different rooms is good as well as several times up/downstairs.

Don't forget the camcorder if you do it because their faces are worth it!

I'm very picky with wrapping too. Dh has admitted we might be pushed to wrap everything on Christmas Eve so I think we;ll have to get started in the next couple of days.

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 18/12/2008 08:40

Morning!

Another one here who won't just choose any wrapping paper! In fact this year, I have paper that matches my crackers for those with us on Christmas Day!

Kay - hope you've had a better night. I'm sure your perseverance will soon be paying off.

I'm getting really worried about Diege now. It's nearly a week since she posted. I hope it's a problem with her Internet access and nothing else.

Fluey sickness and temperature are well and truly gone now but feel full of cold and really tired. Am still in bed this morning but have to get up and go down to Eastbourne and visit some stores... Must get motivated!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 18/12/2008 08:53

Hello! Quick post as I am on strict bed rest and has risked wrath of dh creeping down here to post. Very briefly, became very poorly over weekend admitted to hospital on Sunday night in ambulanace with viral meningitus. Got out last night. Feeling pretty rough, though no lasting damage (temp deaf in one ear). Viral is nowhere near as bad a bacterial, but was lucky to be admitted as brain was starting to swell, hence headaches like you wouldn't beleive. They think baby should be unaffected as luckily just out of 1st trimester, but obv. very worried.
I know nothing about wagon news!!! I very much presume Kay had the baby!! Most probably won't be online over next few days, but hopefully back to usual self in a few weeks. Just wanted to let you all know in case my absence had been noticed - love to you all xxx

sorkycake · 18/12/2008 08:55

Oh diege, sorry to hear you're unwell. Take care of yourself and we'll catch up soon x

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 18/12/2008 09:04

Diege - can't imagine what an awful time you've had. Glad you got the care you needed and that you're on bed rest. Sending a big hug for a speedy recovery.

Cosmogirl · 18/12/2008 09:27

Morning,

Diege - sorry to hear you have been so poorly. We've all been worried about where you had got to. Hope you get better soon x lots of rest and tlc.

Horrid dreams again last night - really horrid [In my nightmare I slept with a guy I used to work with - and let's just say he's no Brad Pitt - ughhhh] Woke up feeling extremely revolted. This baby is doing odd things to me.

Suddenly felt very pregnant yesterday out of the blue. Bump seems to have grown rapidly and was aching loads last night. I think it might have even been Braxton Hicks -it felt tight and like trapped wind. Bit scary actually. Is 25 wks too early to get BH.

Also boobs leaking loads during the night, so think I might have to start padding up etc...I guess when you pass the 6 month mark it is normal to start feeling like there is a properly growing infant inside you!

Morning all

im 23 weeks today

diege so sorry to hear that you have been so ill, wishing you a speedy recovery!

good luck with scan tink!

cosmo i have read BH normal from 22 weeks so dont worry.

re wrapping I couldnt care less about type of paper presents are wrapping - all my paper is lovely so like to mix and match too. DH likes his to be all different so if people have more than 1 present they are wrapped differently!

oh i am so tired. wake every morning at crack of dawn with back problems and cant turn etc. sympathies with you Glask!

GruffaloSoldier · 18/12/2008 10:09

sorry tink i mean good luck with mw apt

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 18/12/2008 10:34

Gruff- i said to DH today 'ooh i'll be 23wks tomorrow... that means gruff will be 23wks today!!' que him giving me funny looks!!

Diege- so sorry to hear how ill you've been... we were a bit worried about where you'd goen to, had hoped you were just busy back at work or something but looks like you've been very ill... glad your on the mend now!! take care and make sure you listen to your DH and get the rest you need!!

Nat- i kinda wish i was able to go and buy teeny tiny baby things... very much i'll need to!! they are always so cute!! and preston?? in lancs?? thats where my DH works, up the rd from me!!

Tink- hope MW goes well, and hope you find out how to fit buggy board...

Cosmo- I know with DS i got BH from about 25/26wks, would always get them when doing the brisk walk to work, and then they'd carry on for about an hour or so afterwards... I've been getting some already this pg, was unsure if they were the first few times but they definatley are now, and its more when i'm walking and doing lots of bending etc for me!!

Ses- my tree is mainly silver and blue/white sort of colours (with the odd tiny special dec of the DC's which doesn't match fully ) so i had to buy silver and blue wrapping paper for all the friends and family as their presents go under the tree for the last week before xmas, actually put them under last night and it looks lovely!!

Sorky- mentioned your idea to DH and he thinks it'd be a fun way to fill half an hour for him in the afternoon... our camcorder is playing up a bit, its about 4 years old now and i think its dusty inside... but luckily DH's grandparents upgraded to a DVD cam so have given us their top-of the range camcorder, DH is looking forward to getting it out!!

think i got everyone!!

Morning,

Diege, I am sorry you have been so ill. Make sure you stick to that bedrest and look after yourself. Hope you get better soon.

No bloody putting feet up here!!!! I am flaming sick of being sat on the sofa. It is driving me mad, I started to clean the oven yesterday and DH went mad!!!

Last night was 100 times better, he latched on pretty well and fed well. He also slept in his moses basket all night, just came out for feeds. But both me and DH at various points during the night had to check he was breathing.

He has already managed to roll onto his side so I think we'll have to be watching that.

Hope everyone is ok, have only really skimmed through.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 18/12/2008 11:10

oh no thats really scary.... DH and i are expecting DD2 to make her arrival around the 3rd april... thats ses's last day... and i'm pretty sure that means i have less than 100 days now till i expect to have my new baby girl by!!!

OP posts:
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 18/12/2008 11:54

Oh no Diege, you poor thing Are the girls OK? Plenty of rest and good old wrinkly baths and chocolate. Will be thinking of you, and look forward to having you back with us ASAP.

Kay, you sound so much better Just think, he is nearly a week old, and you have kept him going all on your own, what an achievement?! There will be down times but the up times will keep getting more and more, you'll see Try not to worry too much about him rolling over, he's a big boy, if he is doing it himself it shows he is strong enough for it. Both of mine slept on their sides, well DS1 didn't, being PFB, I'd never have done anything against all the advice, he just didn't sleep because he wouldn't sleep on his back, DS2 started on his back but soon enough was on his side, and has never been a problem sleeper.

I've been into town, managed to get a couple more sleepsuits and a trouser/top/cardi combo thing in M&S, I've always gone 'awwwww' at the tiny clothes, am now looking at them in disbelief that anything could fit them, I keep telling myself that babies are born a hell of a lot smaller, and he may not even be as small as they say, we all know how far out these growth scan's can be, but it is scary. And it isn't just his size that worries me, but why he is only that size, why hasn't he put the weight on? Why are the waters low? Is it the water's are low because he isn't growing, or is he not growing because the waters are too low? I can't wait till tomorrow to go for this next trace, I have so many questions that we didn't think about when they told us he'd stoppped growing.
