Yeah, we wanted something traditional. It's also my granddad's name (although he uses his middle name) & it's DP's late granddad's name, so we thought it'd be nice from that point of view, too.

No idea about middle names, though.

George is great. I like.

Shouldn't be a problem to find something to go with George. I can't think of a name that doesn't go with it.

We were thinking about that, Nutty, but we thought that two 'posh' names together might look a bit pretentious. Especially because we're hardly keeping up with the Joneses

LuLuBai · 25/11/2008 19:37

Oscar is fab! DD is in love with a gorgeous little boy called Oscar.

NuttyTaff you're going to end up calling your own baby a Turkish name at this rate!

Wow, that's a name to live up to!

BabyBolat · 25/11/2008 19:41

Oh George Oscar is lovely!!

And Springy well done for holding out so long - you should be very proud of yourself (hee hee!) how many hours did you last?

Nutty I like the name Sevilen - we have just gone through lots of names and so far we have a selection but on our top four scores (yes we voted out of 10) we have Karahan, Teoman (Teo, Isilay (pronounced Ishili (Eli for short) and Emin. I also really like Levent and Taner!

I personally really like Emin now!

Turkish Girls names are so much easier!

Got the brackets all wrong there but basically they are Karahan, Teo, Eli and Emin.

LuLuBai · 25/11/2008 19:44

Errr - I think you can get more pretentious Nutty. There was a bloke called Sheridan at my school. (profuse apologies to anyone with that name, or if any of you happen to be married to the Sheridan in question )

BabyBolat · 25/11/2008 19:45

No Nutty - I need help!

LuLuBai · 25/11/2008 19:46

I still like Teo best BabyB.

I am hoping for a girl now - will solve all these problems!

SpringySunshine · 25/11/2008 20:02

I think I lasted about 22 hours! Which is impressive. Besides, you lot are all talking about it, so why should I? DP'll never know I've spilt the beans

Teo is still my favourite out of those, too.

ha ha ha - NuttyTaff when I was pregnant last time DH wanted to give the baby the same name as his World of Warcraft Avatar (firmly vetoed).

BabyB - when it comes to names I would definitely prefer a girl. Cecil is only the most recent in DHs list of possible names for his son&heir. This time round Evelyn is on his girl's list. Last time it was on his boy's list (yeah, yeah it is a boy's name too but try telling the kids in the playground that).

LuLuBai · 25/11/2008 20:13

He also liked Valeri for a boy last time.

His most sensible suggestion recently has been Albert. But that was the name we had given the frog which took up residence in our garden (and died the other day ) so I couldn't really do it.

We go round and round in circles and keep coming back to Julian and Gabriel but neither of us get truly excited about them. It's just a compromise.

SpringySunshine · 25/11/2008 20:15

LuLu, you're on an uphill struggle there! Evelyn & Valeri for boys, indeed.

Nutty, I get stuff like that all the time. See also: 'Whoops, I just accidentally killed my wife...' & so on
