Hello! katie - with you on the night sweats! I thought it was due to my PJs so swapped to nightie, but alas the problem persists. I'm all drippy, especially in the under-boob area and want the windows open - thankfully it doesn't affect DH as he abandoned me for the spare room/ nursery to be several weeks ago!
I've heard that the whole loose poo ting is the body getting ready for labour, kind of clearing you out in advance, so maybe it's not far off for you guys...exciting!
Saw my MW this morning and she said she couldn't really wobble the head much so it must be just engaged, then wrote 4/5 engaged, so I think that must mean 1/5 in, 4/5 out!
Have got my antenatal class this aft - on feeding I think. Will waddle off to town now...catch up with you all later (if I have a spare 2 hours to read everyone's posts!)

Kayz how exciting that the baby is starting to engage - I wish mine would!

Verso we've just submitted our applications for primary school. Our local primary is excellent and very oversubscribed so hoping both of mine get in - we are situated very close so fingers crossed. The girls have been at the pre-school for the last year and I know all the mums so would be sad to have to start again somewhere else.

I am happy today as girls slept through for first time in weeks last night - woohoo! So apart from a few loo trips, I actually feel rested! And I finish work today - woohoo!

Forgotten already who was saying they were lying on the sofa for their maternity leave whilst DC at nursery. I know the feeling well - I keep thinking I should go shopping or for a walk, but I just can't be bothered. Am looking forward to a few simple things, getting a haircut, getting a pedicure, lying on the sofa lots and sleeping. And utter peace and quiet whilst DD's at nursery!

katie - sorry thought you posted about sweats - it was Cat . Am too confused with this huge thread!

Thank god for this thread - I've been so sweaty at night too . I remember finding the same thing last time when I was breastfeeding at night - random sweats which the midwife said were quite normal.

Hatty You must be kinda near me then, I'm north eastish of York. I love York for shopping, could spend all day there if I wasn't so huge and exhausted!

I'm thinking of walking to meet DH from work everyday next week, just to hopefully speed things up a bit. But I'm still waiting for a few things for my hospital bag to be delivered from mothercare.

Big complaining paragraph coming, so skip over if you'd prefer!
I feel crap - haven't got the sweaty thing at all or the freq bowels, but up every hour during the night for a #1 and then it's just a teaspoon ful! I also feel a little sick at the moment, but it could be just being tired. Getting poked in the ribs and the inside of my stomach feels battered. I am constantly short of breath when i lie down and esp at night as my nose seems to block up although I don't have a cold? Pubic bone softening I guess as I've got that bruised feeling on the bone, and the m/w also said he's engaged now drama with the tenant in our rented out flat and also with the letting agents who are crap! Sorry for all the whinging, but i'm just fed up!
Sorry to hear some of you are also feeling crap - I think I just need at least one nights sleep where it's not an effort!!

Kmp Sorry you are feeling so rough. These last few weeks are really horrible. I hope you get a few good sleeps before the baby comes.

I've had a thought - all of us having to get up to wee teaspoons in the night, would it be really really disgusting to use a potty/ chamber pot type of thing? That way at least we wouldn't have to go too far (our bathroom is downstairs off the kitchen so I'm always fully awake by the time i get back up...) and as long as it didn't get kicked over in the morning...???

I've still got things to buy for baby but i think i'm going to do all internet shopping - can't face crowds! Pissed I missed the M&S 20% off sale yesterday though..... KMP - sorry you are feeling pants. I think the blocked nose thing is just a pg thing alas. All your tissues are swollen due to extra hormones and an increase in blood supply, hence you feel bunged up and coldy even though you are fine. Sympathies, though, as it's miserable. I'm a real crosspatch when I can't sleep. Can you install yourself on the sofa with a DVD and a mag, and see if you can drift off? I mind less when I am not tucked up in bed if sleep doesn't happen. Re the baby's position, I feel sometimes that there is a foot on my lung or a hand in my fanny etc, and just find that as the baby shifts the pain moves to a different place. Walking up and down the stairs (even if slow!) can sometimes persuade him to budge if it's too uncomfortable to wait for him to move by himself.

JJ ! I would def consider it! I have an ensuite and even then it's too far.... I always roll out of bed and 'carry' my tummy to the toilet, moaning all the way! I want a cathetar!

JJ - the potty thing is inspired! I know I'd kick it over though. It reminds me of being at uni and getting locked out of my room wrapped only in a towel on a pissed nocturnal wee trip, after which I had to create my own, er, facilities for such eventualities

Just found out something interesting. You know how sperm has prostaglandins in it which can cause contractions. Well it work better if absorbed through your stomach. If you get my drift

yeah Chutney I did that this morning - got blanket, pillow etc, drink, put on Jeremy Kyle and just couldn't get comfy on couch - then dog kept waking me up as she wanted her spot on the couch. Normally I would get mad and lock her in the kitchen where her bed was, but I feel guilty as I haven't walked her very often and she just wanted pats!Is anyone watching 'thismorning' - they are showing all those pants that hold your bulges in - i will need to invest in some I am badly wanting some cashmere tracky pants (jog pant / bottoms ?) not sure what you call them in the uk - lounge wear? lol! M&S have them for £99!! that's silly and i'm not thinking straight right? anyone know where i can get some for less? perhaps cashmere blend?? they just have to be really soft and stretchy..... gosh i'm rambling...

Kayz - My midwife told me about the benefits of oral sperm intake! She said if I did not feel "romantic" I could ask DH to desposit in a cup and then mix it with orange juice . A friend tried a sperm milkshake to no avail. I think I would prefer an induction!

KMP - Sorry you are feeling pants. I meant to tell you yesterday that I live in W6. I had my last baby at QCH too. How weird that we could be in adjacent beds and not know it. We will have to think a a secret wink!

On weeing. I so want to do a satsifying wee. Do you know what I mean? I feel desperate and then go and it is never satisfying because there is so little there. I just want to do a proper big wee .

I am very nervous sitting here. The Head of the Birth Centre at the hospital is calling me in teh next 15 mins to hear my case for going to the MLU. This is my last ditch attempt at an appeal. Aarrrrgghhhh.

kmp I have the blocked nose thing - particularly at night - and it drives me demented. I got some of those nasal strips (verrrry sexy) and they are weird, expensive, but do help. chutney's right though and it is just a normal pregnancy thing. The plus side is that as soon as you have the baby, symptoms like that and the bruised bone just disappear! (To be replaced by sore nipples, swollen boobs and ouchy bits... but hey, who's complaining? )

I'm also not sure what to do today. DD is in nursery this afternoon and I feel this time before the baby arrives is soooo precious - what I ought to be doing is napping/sleeping - but I am just burbling about on here... Was going to make and freeze some casseroles but just can't be bothered!
