hatty sorry to hear your dds have been ill. Are they feeling any better? Ikwym though about how nice it is when they just want to sit down all day!

hattyyellow · 17/10/2008 18:02

I know I feel awful about it but we've snuggled up with loads of videos, they're poorly but not so poorly that you fret and it's been quite nice really!

So sweet about your DS and his moses basket!

jumpjockey · 17/10/2008 18:30

Evening all, just finished my last Friday until probably 2010 I'm going down to 3 days a week from next week to use up my annual leave, and starting ML in earnest at 38 weeks.

hatty - hope the nippers are better soon, but not too exhausting!

will try to catch up with everyone else's news, can't promise a mammoth Indith / LadyT style post though!

Verso · 17/10/2008 20:20

I have a Cameleon too but never got round to watching the DVD .

hatty snuggling with videos is entirely medicinal and justified!

Work mental. It's the weekend! Hurrah!

Am. Very. Tired. So. Won't. Post. More. (Until 2:30am of course )

Olipop · 17/10/2008 20:22

Evening ladies....sorry about sicky kiddies and monster injecton sessions...that sounds hard work.

Hope those of you who met up have had a nice time!

I got my buggy!! And I've used it already and I love it!!!! I can't believe that it actually folds up smaller than my single in the back of my teeny tiny fiesta! It's fab!

Just had a lovely bath with DS although he has seen too many mums breast feeding recently and was very interested in my boobs!!! He was pretending that his sponge was a baby and that it needed milk ! I don't think that he remembers feeding himself though, he certainly hasn't mentioned it. Hope he doesn't get jealous of minipop.

Veggiemummy · 17/10/2008 20:43

evening all, had a tiring but good day. it was 1st day of my breastfeeding helpers course. it is down in Wolverhampton so an hours drive, but really good teacher and a lovely group. The creche is great too, DS loved it and is looking forward to next week, practically had to drag him away.

Oli u can't believe your boss wasn't there to say goodbye on your last day, but nice to hear your off now.

Hatty i also secretly like when DS is a little unwell as we just chill out on the couch and watch DVD's

Morning,

I am going to apologise for the very me post but I do need to get it all of my chest!!!

I had the day from hell yesterday. DS was the devil child and was really bad yesterday. He has quite bad tantrums sometimes and normally they last about 10 seconds but yesterday it was horrible.

First thing was not being allowed to drink my coffee so he headbutted me, then he was sick so we rushed over to the doctors(luckily just over the road). He is fine but we have matching bumps on our heads. We've been told if he seems over tired or his eyes look glazed over to get him straight to hospital.

Second he decided to throw a pile of books everywhere that I had just sorted out ready to go into a box. Then his toys all came out of his toybox.

Of course as soon as Daddy came home he was a bloody angel, never had a tantrum nothing!! Luckily DH knows what he is like. The thing is he is never really bad when we are both here. If I am at work he can be a real pain for DH and vice versa.

Needless to say I have a bit of a headache this morning

Hope everyone is ok!!!!

rosmerta · 18/10/2008 08:18

kayz sympathies with the tantrums! Hope ds is better today

oli which pushchair did you get? I'm hoping mine turns up next week!

veggie glad your course started well, hope you got a good rest last night

Hello Ladies, I am on the May07 PN thread with JAM and she has asked if i might be able to sort out a Secret Stork for you lovely December ladies.

All those that would like to take part need to email ( [email protected] ) your name, address and flavour of your bean if you know. Also if you have any particular likes and dislikes relating to baby gifts.

The budget is £10 and its up to you if you want to include postage within that.

If i could please have all your details by the 31st October i will make sure that you are emailed back with your Secret Stork the following week. All gifts to arrive by the 1st December, hopefully before too many little bubbas have arrived

You can choose either to buy for the baby or for the mummy, the choice is up to you.

Oh, and of course i will need to know what you all get, just part of the fun

JamInMyWellies · 18/10/2008 10:23

Thanks AM.

jumpjockey · 18/10/2008 11:10

Hi AprilMeadow, thanks very much for volunteering, this sounds like great fun!

Kayz sorry to hear about your DS, is it just a phase do you think?

Veggiemummy · 18/10/2008 12:42

thanks AM have sent you email.

i am shattered, DS has football at 9am which DH usually takes him to but it was me this morning. Bit tiring getting up and to the group for 9am but funny to watch. DS is quite competent as far as his phsical abilities go and is much better than most kids his age, but his comprehension of instruction and advanced ball skills is, well age appropriate. So they are a bit stuck with which group to put him in for football. He is only 3 & 2months but the kids his age kid of wander around and don't focus on anything, but the 4&5 year olds are doing really advanced dribbling inc. backwards dribbling. Bless my poor little DS he just wants to chat and play fight with the big kids and give the ball a big kick.

DH ants him in with the big kid but i think he would be better just mucking about with the kids his age and enjoying himself he has plenty of time to do the more advanced stuff in a year. We are both ready for a sleep now.

Kayz sorrt to hear about your day yesterday, very frustrating. they seem to know when we are ahattered and pick then to act up. Hope his head is ok now, and yours.

Thanks everyone for the sympathy.

We are both fine today, can hardly see either bump now.

JJ I do think it is just a phase and so does the health visitor so finger's crossed he'll be better soon.

AprilMeadow I have e-mailed you. It all feels quite exciting!!

rosmerta · 18/10/2008 15:58

am have emailed you, thanks for organising

majormoo · 18/10/2008 17:03

have tried to catch up but there is so much to read.

Kayz-hope you have a better day today

Turnip/PD must be so hard having to deal with your fathers.

Have not been on for a while as have had loads of family birthdays, and much as I like my in-laws, was so pleased when they eventually left yesterday. Am looking forward to seeing my side of the family in half term who may actually notice that I am expecting a baby in 7 weeks time. After having all DH's family over for dinner Thursday, was really irritated that while FIL and BIL sat on the sofa relaxing with their wine, SIL and I were tidying up and moving the dining table back in place (which is quite heavy). AND I ended up sitting on the floor on a practically flat bean bag. grrr.
Sorry just feeling very tired and moody.

kayzisexpecting · 18/10/2008 18:12

Thanks Majormoo I have had a better day today.

I can't believe they let you move a table and sit on the floor!!

I won that sling on Ebay!! Its the first thing I have ever won!!!!

We need a new thread. Any suggestions??

AprilMeadow · 18/10/2008 18:53

Thanks ladies for your details, have 4 of you so far. JAM please can you email me, i know i have your details but i have it in a special DEC SECRET STORK folder and will refer to that when working out who has who.

Verso · 18/10/2008 20:56

AM - have emailed you. I think we were on the April 05 thread together!

AprilMeadow · 18/10/2008 21:01

thanks Verso, we were indeed on the April 05 thread

rosmerta · 18/10/2008 22:41

No suggestions from me I'm afraid, can't think of a thing tonight!

majormoo I can't believe your fil & bil just let you do all the work! Hope you get a nice break now from visitors

Dh & I are feeling a bit silly tonight, we've just confused night terrors with possible meningitis , but we are relieved it wasn't anything serious!

EffiePerine · 19/10/2008 11:12

Kayz: sympathies re the tantrums, I had DS for the day yesterday as DH was meeting up with a friend and he was not the easiest of children . We ended up having several rows, plus a couple of tantrums - I was tempted to stalk off and leave him in the park at one point! An afternoon with snacks and a new Bob the Builder dvd restored us both (DH has now taken him out for the morning so I'm finishing off chores and cooking lunch).

Am up for the Secret Stork - will email April

Beans33 · 19/10/2008 11:52

Hello all! I rarely post at weekends, but am staying with inlaws this weekend and DH and them have all gone to play golf, so I'm taking advantage of a bit of "me" time and just reading and surfing the net etc. Rather nice as DH is hyper and doesn't really get the relaxing and taking it gently thing! Actually having a lovely time with them all.

Tried to shave my legs in the bath last night - I swear I've got a fringe at the back where I can't reach the hairs!!

Very exciting day yesterday - we bought a new car! We were set on a golf as don't want anything too big in London as parking is so hellish. So we went to a few dealers and couldn't find anything in our budget that was what we wanted. We'd driven about 30 miles by then and as we were coming back to his parent's village, there was a car lot, so we popped in. Found a Bora - which is basically a golf, but more of a saloon, not a hatchback - and it's about half the price! Marvellous. So we got it - it was £500 under our budget and a 2 litre engine with aircon and remote locking and a sunroof and everything. Chuffed to bits! Wow, that was boring - sorry! - but exciting for us!

Kayz and Effie - sorry to hear about your LO's wobblies - a treat in store for the first timers amongst us!

New title for a new thread, how about "Due Dec 08 - In the Departure Lounge and getting ready for Take Off" or something - or maybe that's rubbish! I'm not very good at that sort of thing! Bloody hell - can't believe how soon it's all going to kick off - 7 weeks today for me. AAAAGH!

I feel like mine has been taking some kind of steroids - it's booting me to high heaven. Hardly slept a wink last night!

Veggiemummy · 19/10/2008 13:27

here's new thread just in the nick of time i think, sorry about boring title i have no brain at the mo. heretis
