biglips · 30/07/2008 11:57

thanks Starlight as that sounds reassuring. Ill let you all know what happens for tmrw..

hopefully · 30/07/2008 12:13

Grrr, just had a meeting with one of my colleagues in which he basically slagged off (that's such an immature term, can't think of a better one) all of the work I've done for the last year. He wasn't trying to be mean to me, but because he was being rude about the part of the product I'm in charge of, it came out that way.

eandz · 30/07/2008 12:22

eandz · 30/07/2008 12:57

thanks sunshinemummy,
i think i'm going to steal your list if you don't mind.

i hope your bh don't get any worse.

Sassafrass · 30/07/2008 13:18

Eandz, I'd bring lots more underwear. If you'll have a c-section make sure they are huge granny knickers.

eandz · 30/07/2008 13:19

i was planning on 4-6 pairs....how many do you suggest?

mustsleep · 30/07/2008 13:32

sunshinemummy am also going to borrow your list to do my bag with i always forget something crucial

last time i did not realise that i only had two pics left on camera film!!

must make sure that digital camera is fully charged from now on!!

what are you putting your stuff in?

i am thinking one of those wheelie cases a little smaller than what you would use for your hols this time, last time dh had to carry huge heavy bag and practically carry up the corridor as there where no wheel chairs and i needed to push!! but hopefully this time i will be at home so that shouldn;t even factor

lollipopmother · 30/07/2008 13:40

I've put some dried fruit in (prunes and apricots) as well because apparently going to the toilet afterwards is a bit dicey

Sunshinemummy · 30/07/2008 13:44

Disagree Sassafrass re. huge granny knickers post CS. I had bikini briefs that fit under CS scar and they were perfect.

I'm going to put mine in either a wheelie case or a leather weekend bag. Depends what DP wants to carry.

mustsleep · 30/07/2008 13:46

now i have everything baby apart from a moses basket stand and a coat for the baby

what sort of weatherare we thinking - i was thinking that he would be ok if we just bought him a coat or jacket as we have the nest for the pushchair

mama2bee · 30/07/2008 14:04

Snacks Loads Mummy - LOL sunshine!

Looking at other people's lists is really useful!

Sunshinemummy · 30/07/2008 14:08

Seriously DP and I were at the hospital for four straight days last time and we ate everything we took (three shopping bags full) apart from beans as we couldn't find a microwave!

hopefully · 30/07/2008 14:17

Ah, hospital bag lists... Mine gets reviewed and things added and taken away about every 3 days. I am still trying to work out how to make everything fit in a reasonable sized bag, as I seem to have absolutely tons of stuff!

mama2bee · 30/07/2008 14:18

What are your top snack suggestions sunshine?

notsoslimnow · 30/07/2008 14:41

can anyone tell me what muslim clothes are for please?

Sunshinemummy · 30/07/2008 15:02

Snacks - I took glucose tablets, pot noodle, crisps, chocolate, berries/fruit, museli bars, cheese. Just anything that took my fancy in the supermarket really. Healthy and none healthy.

I mainly used my muslin squares to put on my shoulder to save my clothes for posseting. I also had one in my change bag as handy to wipe things up, cover baby in emergency, shade baby from sun. I also had one in the cot under DS's head so if he was sick in cot I just needed to wash cloth rather than sheet.

notsoslimnow · 30/07/2008 15:10

thanks sunshinemummy.....would you use them to bath baby too?

Sunshinemummy · 30/07/2008 15:26

I haven't but you could I suppose.

jenpet · 30/07/2008 15:34

Re snacks, with DS I never realised I would need to take stuff with me - I had one pack of dried apricots to nibble on & keep my energy up during labour - well DS arrived so quickly I had no real time for them - but the food was so horrible and disgusting I had DH bring me food in during visits! This time, a number of other mums in the village have approved my choice of hospital because the food is better!! (I'll still take supplies though!) and am looking forward to finding out if it is just an urban myth that French hospitals bring you a glass of champagne when baby is safely delivered!!

blimey · 30/07/2008 15:51

glass of champagne, that would be luvverly...

I am amazed by all this antikids stuff. Maybe it is new due to MRSA? St Thomas in london let my son in day assessment area and he had loads of fun playing with BP machines - maybe that's why they're starting to be careful!!!

mama2bee · 30/07/2008 16:00

I think I might go to France to give birth jenpet! (champagne!)

jenpet · 30/07/2008 16:23

I'll let you know if it's true!!
