Well, I hope a lot more of us can manage to have our babies in THIS thread, even if we will probably talk our way through it well before the end of the month!

Congratulations Mcchesers!!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 10/07/2008 02:21

Congratulations McChesers

I'm very fed up now, as I had my appointment with the consultant today to have induction booked because of my BP. He decided not to go ahead because of the risks, which is fine but means that all the to-ing and fro-ing from the hospital this week has been a complete waste of time. Apparently my BP is absolutely fine and there's no need to worry . I wish they'd make their minds up as I had resigned myself to an induction and now I have to continue having BP series with MW. My BP is consistently higher at the MW unit so she'll probably have to send me back to the hospital, where I guess they'll do nothing again (their machines give very different readings).

Consultant did say I could have a stretch and sweep so I'm now booked in for one on Friday but I've been reading about them and they sound pretty terrifying. It also seems unlikely that it would work (although doctor did think that my body is gearing up for labour so I'm not sure).

I'm feeling so frustrated as I was fairly relaxed last week but now my anxiety has gone through the roof after being pushed around everywhere again. I'm glad that I should be able to labour naturally but I'm feeling very wobbly now. No reason why tbh, just being a bit pathetic and self-pitying.

Any news SK? Hope things kicked off for you.

gillythekid · 10/07/2008 04:08

Congrats Mcchesers well done!!!
Middle of the night, woke up really hungry and eyes wide open. This must be my body gearing up for the sleep disturbances to come! It will be lovely to get a 3 hour stretch in one once the SPD has gone...luxury!!!
Hope if anyone else is up, it's for a good reason.

isaidno · 10/07/2008 07:18

well done mcchesers! waiting for pics and birth story!

DonutMum · 10/07/2008 08:06

Congrats McChesers.

DH home now and we're getting on with the marital method of induction ha ha. Curry tonight and raspberry leaf tablets with a vengeance. So, let's see what happens today.

Good vibes to y'all.

pigleychez · 10/07/2008 08:51

Congrats to the Mchessers family! Cant wait to hear more details and see the pics

OH Heffa, Sorry to hear about all the coming and go with the hospital. Hopefully things will happen naturally for you soon, then you wont have to worry at all

Feeling abit hormonal today!
Woke up to DH's alarm going off for work. He has it on Radio mode and the news was on. First thing i heard was how the local hopsital's maternity unit is so bad and theres lack of beds and midwives and people are having terible experiences.- Nice!
Felt bit teary after that and really didnt want DH to go to work.. just wanted to lay in bed cuddling.
Oh well.....

Seeing the midwife this afternoon..so might get her take on things at the hospital. See if she can put my mind at rest.

EEC · 10/07/2008 09:15

Aw Pigley - not a good way to wake up. I think you can have good and bad experiences in all hospitals. Let's all hope for the best for us!

McChesers - huge congrats. Thanks for posting MrChesers!

Heffa - so annoying for you. It doesn't take much to get us stressed at this time does it and you certainly have had enough! Still, it's good news really. My mw will do a stretch and sweep next wed (I will be 40 +3), but don't really know if I want to or not. If it does work, does it make labour harder? Hoping it won't be necessary.

Cold in full swing here - another completely bunged up sleepless night. Feeling rubbish now. At least my Mum is here to give me some TLC.

isaidno · 10/07/2008 09:26

Sweetkitty is naotable by her absence... I wonder if she finally did go into labour ??

sweetkitty · 10/07/2008 09:26

Happy Due Date to Me
Happy Due Date to Me
But where is my bab-ee?
Happy Due Date to Me-ee

Well apart from the usual twinges everything has stopped here, completely gutted and down, think I would have been OK if it weren't for the contractions yesterday and the MW saying I was close.

mcchesers - wow congratulations I knew you were close, great weight too welcome to baby Aidan, hope it wasn't too bad. Am really pleased for you as I knew you were suffering and another 2 weeks would have been hard for you.

Peanut - thank you had a lovely sleep only woke once for the toilet and the girls didn't get up until 8am this morning so had more than 9 hours, think I needed it.

kaz1967 - aww hope you can get "released" soon

heffa/EEC - I had a sweep yesterday not that bad TBH, just like and internal and it's always good to know whats going on up there

donutumum - I'm sure it was the realtions that kicked off my false labour pains yesterday, think I will have to try again today see if they can bring on the real thing

pigley - ((((hugs)))) every right to be hormonal, remember though the news likes to make things worse than they seem cos it makes better news.

Rumpel - where are you this morning and everyone else MIA?

Right best be off x

isaidno · 10/07/2008 09:26

SK - there you are!

EEC · 10/07/2008 09:29

SK - great about your full nights sleep. Maybe you are now ready to go because of it. Just think how much a good nights sleep will help!

min912 · 10/07/2008 09:52

Congrats to the family McChesers! Slept relatively well last night but (tmi alert) am getting mightily fed up of waking up every morning with stomach cramps and then diorr diarrhoe the sh**s. Not a great way to start the day!
Just on waking this morning did have a feeling, like when you're trying to remember a dream, that if only I could find the way to 'let go' properly in my mind then I would go into labour. Hmmmm!

AggiePanther · 10/07/2008 10:01

Happy due date SK

Well I am now officially 'overdue' - never been this pg before DD1 was 2 days early and DD2 was induced 2 weeks early so this is all very new to me. I wonder if it'll happen on the 13th - that was my edd from MY dates not from scan dates. When they induced DD2 they said it looked like she was more than 2 weeks early - which would have fitted with my LMP dates.

Did anyone else have a difference between scan dates and LMP dates and if so which was actual birth closest to?

gillythekid · 10/07/2008 10:02

Oh Min912!! Maybe the mind is letting go of the bodily detritus first, it's just taking it's time!
Did anyone else see the freebirthing documentary? Pigley I read your post re the South African woman in the pool. I thought it was really interesting having done the hypnobirthing course as she was talking about the removal of fear/tension/pain which is exactly what we were taught. I'm not banking on being that calm at all, just hoping I have a straightforward birth with no intervention, still want a midwife present though! Shame you had to hear the radio this morning, I think most maternity units in the country are in the same state but healthy, happy babies are born every day without too much bother.
Off to physio this morning, the MIL is kindly driving me as I'm a bit past it now! Have a good day and a productive one on the baba front!

gillythekid · 10/07/2008 10:06

Crossed posts Aggie! My LMP was 16/10/07 which would make my EDD a week further than it is but the dating scan says 14th. It's my first so no comparisons to be made but I might have to argue against induction if this LO doesn't get a move on!! Sorry you're 'overdue', it must be frustrating for all of you.

AggiePanther · 10/07/2008 10:06

Bah! Just had an email from Urchin saying P&T is delayed till the 18th
Anyone else? Did you order one from there SK?
Not sure what to do now

isaidno · 10/07/2008 10:25

Aggie - each time I have been pg the scan has added about 7 days to my date, and I have delivered naturally at 37 +1, 38 +2 and 37 +6.

Big hugs to all those overdue ladies - it must be very frustrating - I hate being late for anything!

Poppy and I are doing well - waiting for all you lot! She's breast feeding great and getting fatter by the day (7lb 9 last week from 6lb 4 at birth and she is only 3 weeks old!) Tonight I am taking her to a parentcraft class to demonstrate how to bath a baby. I hope I do it right! There might be a group of badly washed babies around town in a few weeks otherwise!

Forgot to watch the frebirth programme - hopefully it's on catch up tv on 4ondemand.

ButterflyMcQueen · 10/07/2008 10:27

aggie i am with you on the due date/scan date thing and generally expect and get my babies on MY dates not scan

glad i have people to share this time with - its so dull - i am sick of cleaning tbh!

pigleychez · 10/07/2008 10:46

isaidno-

The freebirth programme was on Channel 5 not 4.

sweetkitty · 10/07/2008 10:46

aggie - just had the same e-mail message delayed until the 18th was looking forward to having a new pram to play with even if I don't have a newborn to go in it, well think about it maybe baby will come before pram now. We are getting such a good price though.

butterfly - I'm in the middle of cleaning too I know it will make my SPD worse but I am hoping it will jar things a bit, going overdue is the utter pits every day seems like 14 and you go to bed every night thinking "oh wonder if it will be tonight/tomorrow"

Got to think though they will be big healthy babes when they do come out and no disrepect to anyone with a premmie but given the choice what would you rather have a premmie you worry about or go overdue? Sometimes
it's worth taking a step back and thinking about things.

isaidno - great news about Poppy love hearing abour all the newborns doing so well.

Right off to scrub some toilets, DP has taken DD1 to see Kung-Fu panda, DD2 still too small.

Libra1975 · 10/07/2008 11:16

Morning all, i don't think being overdue is going to prompt me to suddenly do housework but you never know. Luckily I still have another 5 days before I have to think about it!

McChesers - Congratulations, looking forward to the photos

isaidno - what a great thing to do, I would have loved someone to bring a newborn to an NCT class and demonstrated bathing, clothes changing etc. Glad Poppy is doing well.

Busy day yesterday, managed a pedicure, leg wax, lunch out, tea with NCT girls AND the cinema. Today recovering on the sofa

MINNIE1 · 10/07/2008 11:17

Hi all

D-day here and nothing...

Still playing the waiting game, having pains and niggles but nothing lasting long enough.. Had one bad pain last and i asked myself why the hell am i going through this again, I know i will forget once LO is here.. So i am off today to get new tyres and i am bring DDs with me so going to be real fun trying to hold on to them two. But it may help bring on labour!! YA
Up the walls here with DDs and DP, feel like i am being pull at from all sides! Need some me time but where will i find that!

Congrads to all the new babies that have arrived. Hope you are all doing well..

SK WE WILL HAVE OUR BABIES TODAY!!K

bebejones · 10/07/2008 11:39

Morning all and congratulations to the family Mcchesers!!!

Just got back from the MW, get weekly appointments here from 36 weeks until I have LO. Little bugger is still 3/5 but has now flipped round and is back to back hence why my back is killing me!! But at least I have made it to the magic 37 week mark....midwife led maternity unit here I come!!!!! Driving is getting very uncomfortable now, but must persevere as DH doesn't drive and we live semi-rural! Woke at 3:30am for wee, and have been awake ever since, so did some washing up had a milkshake and played tetris on my phone til DH got up at 6:45!!

A lovely lady in tesco last night said how small I looked for 37 weeks...could have kissed her! Asked MW what sort of size she reckons LO will be, she said not big, if I go over EDD maybe 7 1/2 lbs but if before possibly under 7! I know it's guess work, but that did cheer me up!! Can cope with 7lbs...if she is the right way, so need lots of positive baby flipping thoughts!!!!

Fingers crossed all those who are due today! So exciting...sending lots of positive baby birthing vibes!!

Libra1975 · 10/07/2008 11:44
