Well, I hope a lot more of us can manage to have our babies in THIS thread, even if we will probably talk our way through it well before the end of the month!

radiohelen - hmm I found the yoga and hypnobirthing mix difficult in relation to the breathing. Yoga teaches you to breath in thru the nose and out thru the mouth whereas hypnobirthing teaches you to breath in thru the nose and then down the body with the mouth closed. I have to say as I have been doing yoga longer I found myself straying towards the yoga breathing a few times HOWEVER the hypnoborthing way is far better during the "surges".

Hi Ladies

I finally have my little lady Leah...

She arrived on thurs morning at 02.21 and was a healthy 8lbs 12oz. She is a little cutie.

Was having contractions on and off all day wednesday, went to hospital that evening and i was 3cm. By 10pm i was 5cm and it all happened so fast after that. She needed a little help out in the form of a Kiwi Vacum. It was fine and only have 2 stiches which i dont really know i have.. So glad its all over and she is here.

I HAVE A NEW BABY yippeeeeee...

Hope you are all doing well and will catch up later with you all..

CilC · 19/07/2008 14:10

Hi all! I had my little boy Rafferty Thomas on Monday 14th as planned. He is gorgeous and everything going extremely well feeding wise. I only got out of hospital today due to a blood interaction - we have different blood groups which has given him a severe case of the yellows!(jaundice)! He has spent the week under a sun bed as i have been waiting and witing to come home!

Congratulations to everyone - will try and catch up soon!

Umlellala · 19/07/2008 14:19

Hello all, sorry have been absent from this thread. Some of you may have seen my full birth story on the overdue thread but thought you'd like to know that baby boy Skyler Harvey was born at 3.36am on Friday 18th July, 7lb 6oz.

It didn't exactly go to plan... I HAD planned on an epidural asap (like my fab one last time...) BUT I didn't actually realise I was in labour this time (thought it was braxton hicks triggered by painful backache due to kidney infection!) until my waters broke at 1.30am and I gave birth 2 hours later-less than an hour after getting to hospital!! So no pain relief at all but totally fine and very instinctive... Homerton Hospital midwives were as amazing as before. Still feel so 'on a high' and all powerful!

And we are happily breastfeeding - has been great. Baby latched on straight away, no pain til today, baby feeding well, but had sore nipples this morning so checked and have now amended my latch slightly and yes - it is immediately better. So do check your latches, ladies, if it is sore because I really thought I had it sussed and soreness was just to be expected but I don't think it is

Dd (2.3) is beside herself with pride and happiness and keeps gazing at him going 'mine baby brother!' Bless. Its so so sweet. And we had such a lovely night's sleep last night, we are all together, so a happy cosy family...

CONGRATS to ladies with babies and good luck to those who are waiting. It will come soon...

Peanut73 · 19/07/2008 14:46

CONGRATULATIONS Minnie, CilC and Umlellala!!

Great names too ladies! xx

catec · 19/07/2008 14:54

Congrats Minnie, CilC and Umlellala! Yay for more babies!

EEC · 19/07/2008 14:59

More lovely babies. Well done girls! They do all come in the end I guess. Bet you're glad to be home CilC.

isaidno · 19/07/2008 17:23

Congrats Minnie, umlellala and cilc!!

disneystar · 19/07/2008 18:26

well done ladies all the babies are arriving now thick and fast

samuel had his 10 day check up today and has not been discharged from mw just yet
i am now f/f him which i never wanted to do but i was left with no choice really he is losing so much weight now he has lost 12% of his body weight any more and it back to hospital for him they have discuseed ng tube feeding today and i am so anxious to avoid that ive gone for formula every 3 hours now

has anyone else ever had ababy that didnt thrive well please?

pigleychez · 19/07/2008 18:28

oohhh CONGRATULATIONS to Minnie, umlellala and cilc! very of you all.

Went for a lovely pub lunch today with my parents. My dad bought me a HUGE pineapple to get through with the hope of starting things off. And i mean HUGE.... Never seen a bigger one!!

What with that and the "marital relations" this morning something might happen soon.... but however ive said that 1000 times before!

Fellow overduers - Ponto,EEC,Gilly ... anything??

pigleychez · 19/07/2008 18:30

Disney- Dont worry about F Feeding Sam.... If its whats best for him then go with it.

Better than having him end up in hospital.

EEC · 19/07/2008 19:44

Pigley - still here and nothing happening! 6 days over now. I suppose that's not too bad. Think positive. At least I got to go to DD's sports day on Friday (lucky me!).

Disney - hope Samuel starts putting weight on soon. I am sure he will with formula 3 hourly.

minipinkscottish · 19/07/2008 19:51

CONGRATULATIONS Minnie, CilC and Umlellala!! Disney - do what is best for your baby - you are a good mummy and I'm sure he will do well. If you want to still bf then keep trying in between f/f - or express - I know people who have had sick LO's and they have expressed for weeks and then successfully bf. If you don't want to then that's okay and the most important thing is, is that you and LO are well and happy - thinking of you xx

It's our anniversary tomorrow -6 years!! 3 babies in 6 years and of course before that with XDH had 3 babies in 5 years

Peanut73 · 19/07/2008 19:54

Disney - I am really thinking of you. You are doing so well by the sound of it. Don't forget it's normal for babies to lose weight in the first two weeks... Charlie lost loads, probably about the same as Samuel, and wasn't back up to his birth weight after two weeks when we went home from hospital. Sending you lots of love. xx

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 19/07/2008 20:17

Congratulations to all the new mums!

Meda Margery Susan was born on Tuesday morning (15th) at 9.09am weighing 7lbs 1.5oz. We were in hospital from Sunday (went in because of reduced foetal movement and ended up being induced) and came home on Thursday. We're both fine, although I can't believe it's possible to be so tired! Meda's beautiful though and we're loving being a family Induction labour was fairly gruelling, but second stage was super fast (head came down in 10 minutes) and unassisted, which the midwives weren't expecting.

She's not breastfeeding yet so I've been expressing all her feeds but the community midwives have been fantastic and we're hoping she'll get better at it soon. It's quite frustrating, but hopefully it won't last long.

I don't have much time to catch up but I'll have a read through when life is less hectic!

pigleychez · 19/07/2008 20:28

Congrats to you Heffa...

Bet the reduced movement was abit scary but glad everything went ok.
Hope the breast feeding improves soon

Cant wait to see pics of all these newborns.

isaidno · 19/07/2008 20:31

Congrats Heffa!

Disney - don't feel bad about ff - feel good about all the great antibodies etc you have given Samuel through bf already. Every drop counts! You know he has health problems already and it is important that he is strong and healthy so he can cope with whatever the future may hold. You could try some mixed feeding to try and get a little more breast milk into him.

gillythekid · 19/07/2008 21:00

Congrats to all new mummy's!!
Still here ladies. Had a short and painful walk at the local farmers market this morning as cabin fever had well and truly set in, no room for the wheelchair! Been having quite bad period type pain/BH's and massive pressure in the perineum today, all helped by listening to Brian Eno and Sigur Ros leaning over the birthing ball! Had a lovely nap this evening and DH just cooked me a beautiful meal so will settle down to a good film later.
Pigley, EEC and all overduers, hoping you're ok and finding ways to cope with this seemingly endless wait.
Disney hope your LO improves soon.
Peanut Hope Charlie is fighting fit.

mummy2bsoon · 19/07/2008 21:01

sweetkitty · 19/07/2008 22:22

pigley, gilly and ponto and any other overdues - hang on in there ladies sending you all loads of labour vibes

Remember we have the post natal thread ladies too although I am staying here too until all the babies are born as it's horrible being last off the thread.

I'm fine started taking the super strength iron tablets today, still feel very tired, had visitors from 9-5pm today so am pretty tired and they weren't the sort of visitors that help out Bethany and Abbie got loads of presents though, I cannot believe my biggest baby is 4 tomorrow seems like only yesterday since she was born, just finished putting her balloons up

Thepuddingchef · 19/07/2008 22:55

disneystar - I just wanted to say about samuel loosing 12% of his body weight, I was in a very similar situation, although it wasn't spotted with my ds until 3 days after we came home, and he'd lost 16% of his body weight, and rushed back into scbu. He was in a bad way for a day or so, but bounced back amazingly, babies are tough little things, and if formula feeding is making things easier for you then don't feel down about it, and as has been said, expressing is an option, I did for 6 weeks with ds until my milk dried up too much to give him enough. All he wants is a happy mummy and lots of cuddles....

disneystar · 20/07/2008 00:00

thanks to you guys with advise to samuels weight
you are right of course that if he needs the to ff he does its just that i so wanted to bf but i guess its not meant to beand yeah cuddles and me being happy is for the best,i think he has his first op in a few weeks so the more he weighs the better
dh trying to feed him right now its taking nearly 2 hours to get 2 ounces into him and he has to be fed every 3 hours i guess im a bit tired my dh goes back to work monday so im alone all week till friday with all 4 ds
i can see no housework gettin done this week at all
oh well who cares

disneystar · 20/07/2008 00:05

like sweetkitty im gonna stay on this thread till all you ladies have your babies to
weve been together nearly since the beginning also im gettin just as impatient as you lot although not in any discomfort like you
i really feel for you to i have never been overdue always early i have no idea how frustrating it must be
but the end is in sight isnt it they cannot stay in there much longer

mummy2bsoon how are you doing?

ponto · 20/07/2008 00:20

Congratulations Heffa! Disney, I think you are doing the right thing giving Samuel formula if health professionals are worried about him, you've done really well to persevere so far with bf, you should be proud of yourself.

Only 15 hours to go until I go into hospital for induction, feel too on edge to sleep so am browsing MN until I relax a bit. Had a nice day though, plenty of rest then took the dds out for early dinner in a country pub with a playground.

anyone else got a date for induction?
