Well, I hope a lot more of us can manage to have our babies in THIS thread, even if we will probably talk our way through it well before the end of the month!

themasterandmargeritas thanks for your thoughts - what I would give for a margarita on Diani beech right now. Do you think you might create what you created there last time?

Catec/Pigley - I know what you mean about letting people down -I know it's not my fault, but the late arrival effects so many people - especially my Mum, who has already been here 10 days - and it could still be another week. She has to go on the 24th and she might miss the whole thing after hanging around for 2 1/2 weeks! The way I feel at the moment that is definitely going to happen.

Still no signs here. These constant BH are really getting me down as I know they are doing absolutely nothing, but are keeping me awake at night. Also getting really worried about nightmare labour due to posterior baby. Why on earth would it turn posterior at 40 weeks?! It's not fair!!

PLEASE PLEASE turn, and come at the w/e.

Moan moan moan... Sorry.

AggiePanther · 18/07/2008 08:37

any news this morning?
did the full moon do its thing?

gillythekid · 18/07/2008 08:53

DH bought me a lovely curry and gave me a right good seeing to.....but no baby!!! Full moon out tonight (rising this morning ) so still time to howl like a banshee, not sure I have the energy to do anything else!
Anyone have any success last night?

disneystar · 18/07/2008 09:04

EEC my baby turned posterier at the last minute as well which was typical

gonna reaad the posts properly today and see whats happening

samuel doing ok here waking every 4 hours now so really only 1 night feed now but it takes him so long i still only get 2 hours sleep in one go

his eyes are more open now and he moves his eyes to your voice he is so cute beyond words
boy do i love my little guy,i just stare and cuddle him for ages at night til my dh says hes supposed to be in his bed

when we are out people always ask to touch his hair im going to have to wash it again today and il put a pic on here guess you can tell im sooo proud of my son
i also wondered what i would feel like having a baby with huge probs and im lucky to say i dont see the probs only samuel which is a good thing for me,i wont discuss his ops with any medical staff i know im in denial in a way but i want this period to last forever

still with you ladies here just scanned through have you had a show pigley? if so wont be long then

pigleychez · 18/07/2008 09:45

Morning all...

Was awake about 3am, tossing and turning. Didnt want to wake DH so went to sleep in the nursery. Shocked DH when he woke and i wasnt there.

Had abit more show late last night and a few tightenings when i was awake in the early hours.
Woke this morning to more show and a stomach ache so suppose time will tell.

Typically though, today of all days, DH has forgotten his mobile! Thankfully he has a direct line to his desk so not too bad but told him he cant leave it today at all!-- No tea breaks, meetings or even loo breaks!!

Everyone else still here??

ponto · 18/07/2008 10:00

Hi all, especially overdue ladies. I am 40+13 today and still no sign of contractions. I had a show for 2 days after the last sweep, surely there can be no more to come, so what is holding this baby in??

Walked up steep hill to school with dd1 today but now just feel tired, have tried nipple tweaking but now feel sore, think I will give up and just resign myself to being pregnant forever. I am planning to clean the house thoroughly this morning, perhaps baby knows there is dog hair everywhere and is staying put!

EEC, I don't think it is worth worrying about baby being posterior at the moment, it obviously has room to move around, so will turn again once labour gets going.

Not had any birth announcements for a few days but thread has been relatively quiet so hopefully everyone else is getting on with actually giving birth

catec · 18/07/2008 10:00

Ooh Pigley sounds promising - good luck!
Gilly - hope the curry and, er, afters, work their magic.

ponto · 18/07/2008 10:01

Oooh, sounds hopeful pigley, good luck for today!

catec · 18/07/2008 10:03

Ponto - aaarrgh for you! How frustrating. Sorry, can't remember, are you booked in for an induction or are you waiting for your LO to come on its own?

EEC · 18/07/2008 10:14

ponto - miserable isn't it? DS 12 days late and that was bad enough. This one only 5 days so far but seems like an eternity.

Good luck Pigley.

mummy2bsoon · 18/07/2008 10:16

gillythekid · 18/07/2008 10:46

I've just had a lovely relaxing clary sage bath and will spend the time before lunch making beads for my holiday. I will then eat a nice lunch and watch a DVD, possibly on all fours over the ball. I will not stress. I will drink lots of RL tea and do some meditation later. I qualified as a reflexologist 10 years ago...if only I could reach my feet!
Full moon fever here...bring it on. Hope all you new mummy's are nuzzling in and all us on the waiting list are coping with the wait and trying not to let it get to us. I'm holding it together...just.
Good birthing vibes Pigley, no mucous show for me yet!

Squarah · 18/07/2008 11:03

Well done all you popped ones! And hang in there overdue bun-bakers (not that you have much of an option really eh? )! I'm now 6 days away from my due date and really enjoying my mat leave.

We had a false alarm last week which was probably an evil 36hr tummy bug but it really freaked me and DH out - we didn't feel ready and I just couldn't get into the sync of my relaxation exercises (have done hypnobirthing but less than a month ago). Luckily it all settled down and am feeling fine now - just tired and a bit creaky - the usual!

Think we'll feel ready when it happens now but I'm having last minute wobbles about names - ours seem a bit dull now and am having name jealousy whenever I hear a new one - has anyone else had this and did they change their minds at the last minute after being settled on something for weeks? Am I just overthinking as per usual???!

JODIEhadababy · 18/07/2008 11:10

Squarah Sam was going to be Jamie, right up until we saw him and then we called him Sam, no idea where it came from!

isaidno · 18/07/2008 11:31

Ponto - big hug for you - it must be miserable being so overdue xxx
Come on gilly, pigley, EEC, everyone else! We're all waiting for you on the postnatal thread!

EEC · 18/07/2008 11:54

Squarah - same here. have been happy with my girl's name all the way through - am now worried it's boring. I think maybe we are bored cos we think about it too much. Still no decision on a boy's name. Hope it's a girl!

radiohelen · 18/07/2008 12:05

Hello ladies, I'm new....and due tomorrow - can I play too? I only just found mumsnet after a friend told me about it. I'm sitting around bored and waiting. It seems like everyone from my NCT group has had their baby and I'm just waiting with what feels like a very heavy grapefruit sitting on my bits. It's my first baby and in spite of the NHS we have got here in one piece I've got a stack of hypnotherapy mp3s and I'm feeling quite confident. I guess time will tell.

H

gillythekid · 18/07/2008 12:23

Welcome radiohelen Mine feels more like a watermelon so I'm hoping baba isn't a whopper!
Just made a lovely long boho necklace for my holiday. Am now grilling some balsamic tomatoes and will eat a lovely feta salad before drinking more RL tea.
Planning a nice bounce this afternoon whilst watching American Gangster then will go for a nap in preparation for tonights labour...have to think positive!

EEC · 18/07/2008 12:36

gilly you sound so chilled. I am full of admiration.

Welcome radiohead. Congrats.

Am off to DD sports day. Perhaps just watching the sack races etc will get me started! Perhaps I should go in for the parent's race?

catec · 18/07/2008 12:37

Gilly, that sounds like a very pleasant way to spend the day. Where are you going on holiday?
I have my Jill Scott concert tonight so am taking things as easy as possible so I have enough energy for it. Am also thinking a DVD on the couch.
Has anyone had acupuncture to induce labour? I am just about to book an appointment with someone who has been recommended to me.

catec · 18/07/2008 12:38

PS. welcome radiohelen, a few bored mothers-in-waiting here.

pigleychez · 18/07/2008 12:53

Welcome RadioHelen
Hope your pregnancy has been ok? Do you know what your having? boy/Girl?

Hope everyone isnt too bored today.

My tummy ache is on and off at the mo so not sure if it will come of anything.
Annoying bit is I constantly feel like ive wet myself! Keep going to the loo to check i havent!

gillythekid · 18/07/2008 13:40

EEC I'm tricking my body into being chilled by telling my mind to calm down, in truth, I'm just as frustrated as the rest of you but I'm fully aware that tension is counterproductive!
Catec We're all off to the south of France in early September for my sister's 40th. There'll be 11 of us staying at a beautiful 'domaine', fully catered and surrounded by fields of sunflowers, good company, good music, good food, good times!! Enjoy your gig tonight.
Just been on the Robert Elms show on BBC Radio London, he was asking listeners to ring in for his 'Four from" feature which was Paul Simon this week and I requested 'Me and Julio down in the schoolyard' so I could jig around in an effort to dislodge baba! I had a nice chat and a dance around the kitchen but baba is staying firmly put!

catec · 18/07/2008 14:04

Gilly - holiday sounds fab! I love that Paul Simon song.

ponto · 18/07/2008 14:10

Thanks for sympathy and hugs. Welcome Radiohelen. I've just come back from softplay with dd2, was nice to get out of house but had to cope with a lot of shocked faces. I keep telling everyone the normal length of a pregnancy is up to 42 weeks, so I will not be abnormal until Sunday!

Am booked for induction on Sunday, but feeling that it really can't be much longer now so might just wait for it to start naturally and go in for monitoring. Realistically though I will probably chicken out and be induced when it comes to it, I have been here twice before and always end up reading something about increased risk of stillbirth after 42 weeks and asking for induction.
