Well, I hope a lot more of us can manage to have our babies in THIS thread, even if we will probably talk our way through it well before the end of the month!

JODIEhadababy · 17/07/2008 11:29

Just checking my name change has worked???

AggiePanther · 17/07/2008 11:58

Morning ladies. I think the full moon is tonight isn't it? So hopefully you'll see some action!
Stanley has had me awake most of the night constantly feeding - think he's trying to get the milk to hurry up and come in. In the end I just propped us up with pillows, stuck him on my boob and went back to sleep - both much happier and at least I got a bit of a rest.

gillythekid · 17/07/2008 11:58

Full moon technically tomorrow morning (rising) so still plenty of time for us overdue lunatics! I'm off to see the MW soon but will resist any intervention, as I mentioned, I don't think I'm due till Monday (on LMP) so want to give my body the chance to get ready on it's own. More sex tonight perhaps (DH is loving this bit!)

sweetkitty · 17/07/2008 12:06

No babies in the night - you poor overdues, it's totally is the pits I know. They will eventually come out though, hang on in there, book yourself for a haircut or facial something nice and spoiling chances are baby will come before you have the appointment and if not at least you will looking good when they do turn up.

Not much to report here, sore nipple city just waiting for my milk to come in as I have a hungry girl.

Have posted some pics of Bethany on facebook if you want a nose, can't seem to pics on here for some reason.

JODIEhadababy · 17/07/2008 12:38

that's true SK, I booked a hair cut for the Sat morning and Sam arrived on Friday!!!!

pigleychez · 17/07/2008 12:50

oh dear oh dear!

I went upstairs to get dressed about 11am and just woke up.. oh well .... now i only have the afternoon to kill.

mummy2bsoon - how annoying!!

Gilly- Full moon tomorow hey Theres hope for us yet!.

Libra1975 · 17/07/2008 13:32

Afternoon all.
I hope those waiting for their babys are not getting too impatient and congratulations to
everyone who has had their baby in the last 5 days.

As my DH posted the birth didn't quite go according to plan, having got to 8cm in 10 hours at home I ended up having an emergency CS due to a footling breech presentation which apparently is quite rare. I will post a more complete birth story when I have got my head around it!
Part of me is quite angry at the community midwives as I had caused a fuss about them being sure the baby was head down and was made to feel as if I was just being silly as a first time mum. That's the other thing, it might be my first born but if any other health professional asks me if it's my first if I query something (have had some problems breast feeding and they wanted to give formula) I swear I will slap them.

Right now I have that off my chest!

Alexander is being a darling, after not wanting to feed in the first 24 hours he is now guzzling like a trouper. Dh is completely besotted with him and I practically have to force him to hand him over!

DS - moaning and getting things off ones chest is what this place is for, you can't be strong 100% of the time.

SK - 1hr 35 from waters breaking to baby! Good god, have you phoned Guiness Book of records?

Pigley - I hope something happens for you soon, is there anyway you could ask them to change the time of induction, you shouldn't be allowed to be scared and on your own. However I do second the earplugs comment

Jacobsprincess - I don't think there is anything that unusual in how you feel, I have to say I think the most overwhelming emotion for me in the first few hours was complete shock that I had a baby!

My milk has started to come in and I have comedy breasts at the moment!

cass66 · 17/07/2008 14:33

Hi guys. welcome to all the new babies, and get a move on all those stubborn ones.

I had forgotten how hard work newborn babies are. it seems impossible to get anything done. Edward is asleep at present, but will need a feed when he wakes up then changing, and I have to leave home at 3pm to go to school to get my older daughter. luckily my husband is home, so he can go if we're not ready, which we won't be!! thank goodness it's the last day of term tomorrow!

we nearly ran out of nappies today (had to hunt to find a clean one this morning!). it's a real pain not being able to drive as I would have just nipped up to tescos, but had to send husband instead.

Re:the blues, I had it bad yesterday. I was in tears all day, didn't want to talk to anyone (missed a coffee morning with my friends), was even thinking why have we had another child?, missing taking part in the daily routine of school/playgroup etc. It passed. I also have really sore nipples to the point of not wanting to feed as it hurts sooo much. they are also improving, but that first few seconds is still agony.

husband is convinced I am anaemic, so is forcefeeding me meat, red wine and guiness. it could be worse!!! (and my Hb post section was 10.5, so not too low)

have put some pix on facebook. Cass.

gillythekid · 17/07/2008 14:46

Hello everyone
Feeling really down this afternoon. MW booked me in at the hospital on Monday. Don't want any intervention as I feel it's up to nature to take it's course. I hate arguing with medics. DH said we can read the stuff on AIMS website tonight and arm ourselves with some sort of defense.
Plan to howl at the moon on all fours tonight, after the curry and before the sex. I want my baby this weekend.
Empathise with all in the same boat, the waiting game is tough but will be so worth it.
Lovely to hear from you Libra1975 so glad you're doing well.
SK Great that the SPD went so soon.

AggiePanther · 17/07/2008 15:43

Hi Gilly ...felt very much the same just before I went into labour ...was really down all day thinking that I was going to have to have an induction on Saturday and my plans to let nature do its thing would all be scuppered....then waddya know... Stan appeared within a few hours

SPD improving here too ...still got it but it's getting better daily ...also got voltarol which helps a lot

pigleychez · 17/07/2008 16:02

Gilly- i too have been teary most of the afternoon.

Just so fed up with waiting. Kinda feel like im letting everyone down too.. not that i can control it but hey.

In some ways Im glad i have a date for induction (not that id prefer it to happen naturally of course!) Light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.

But still worrying about having to start of alone at hospital.
What if the midwifes forget to ring DH being too busy? or ring too late as the hospital is about 30mins drive away! Dont wanna have to get to 8/10cm alone during the night!!

gillythekid · 17/07/2008 16:11

Let's all howl at the moon tonight and try to avoid any intervention!

pigleychez · 17/07/2008 16:13

Just remembered its my Brother in Laws Birthday tomorow so maybe Baby is waiting for that??

isaidno · 17/07/2008 16:34

gilly - you don't have to have intervention, but you will have to be very firm, and agree to regular monitoring to check baby is healthy. Don't be pushed into anything you don't want.

pigley - don't worry about starting induction on your own - afaik it is a lengthy process and unlikely that the first pessary will do anything for hours. Make it clear you want your dh called as soon as anything starts to happen.

Sending labour vibes for all of you xxx

catec · 17/07/2008 17:58

I feel for you overdue girls and hope that things kick off on their own for you soon. I know what you mean Pigley about letting people down - my parents are over from NZ for the birth and if I go more than a week late then my father will go home without seeing his granddaughter. Not anything you can control though so don't feel bad about it.
Libra1975 - I can't believe they missed that he was breech even after you fussed. They can be so patronising with first time mothers can't they?? I have told DP he has to be forceful during labour and ignore any "first timer" comments.
Nothing going on here - I could be in for the longhaul. I haven't even had any BH. Please let her come before August at least!

AggiePanther · 17/07/2008 18:22

I'll have a howl at the moon for you tonight gilly and pigley

pigleychez · 17/07/2008 20:01

oh oh oh oh,

Just had a show (thought i had it just after the sweep but thought after that i was just left over lubrient she used- sorry TMI )

This was def a show! Big blob, slightly brown stained. Sorry TMI again!

Im actually really excited!!!! I know it doesnt necessarily mean anything will happen soon but its the first sign of ANYTHING happening at all and im 5 days overdue!

Fingers crossed it kicks off soon -before tuesday would be fab!!

JODIEhadababy · 17/07/2008 20:10

Go baby Pigley!! Hope it all happens tonight and I come back tomorrow and I find loads of babies born in the night!!!!

Themasterandmargaritas · 17/07/2008 20:34

Just popping in to wish all you almost-in-labour ladies good luck with the final stretch, congrats to those already popped and a special good luck to EEC from us here in Kenya. We will be thinking of you in Mombasa these next couple of weeks.

ButterflyMcQueen · 17/07/2008 20:35

good luck sounds good pigley!!

gillythekid · 17/07/2008 20:49

Pigley hope this is the start for you.
Thanks Isaidno
Just had a curry, by order of the midwife, will have DH for dessert!!
Bring on the full moon and a collective howl!

sweetkitty · 17/07/2008 20:55

Pigley - wow a show sounds like you are heading in the right direction, come on baby pigley, hope your waters break soon

libra1975 - ouch sounds like you had a rough time, I cannot believe you had an undiagnosed fottling breech
poor you, glad all is well though and Alexander sounds like a wee darling. I know I tend to pop them out fast, she took everyone by surprise though, MWs weren't even looking and a head popped out. Still has it's disadvantages, still very sore sitting down, been doing the lavender oil baths though.

gilly - oh loads of labour vibes to you too, can't remember when you are due to go in, is it Monday, still loads of time, DD2 was 12 days late came 2 days before the induction.

Aggie - any news about the Phil and Teds? Hopefully we will hear something tomorrow, I have a new baby I want a new pram to put her in now!

Had long night with Bethany last time, little minx has got night and day around the wrong way but I'll let her off she's 3 days old and too cute for words. Milk came in today, ouch ouch and ouch, already had to pump some off, forgotten how sore that was too, still should be better for her now. She also had her first bath tonight too.

Thought we needed one though I can't keep up with all these babies although we haven't had one for a few days, hope the sweeps and full moon work!

Who is missing?

CLiC - hope she is OK?
Rumpel - has been MIA for days???

AggiePanther · 17/07/2008 23:16

Sounds good pigley

SK - yes my P&T arrived on Weds morning - forgot to say. I had emailed them though (in response to their email)saying that if there were any further delays I'd have to get one from elsewhere cos baby was due any day. Maybe that did the trick? Its fab btw

Oh when you do next update the list SK could you poss put stanley beau - now that we finally agreed on the middle name
