Due in June '05 - London Meet 2

Hi all, thought I'd put thi on its own thread rather than clutter up the Due in June (oh I mean "Jue") one.

I gather that April 2 is the preferred day. Is that good for everyone. As for a "quiet place". I think that's a good idea, but to be honest, I haven't a clue. Any suggestions?

Me and Dh are meant to be going to Oxford for a weekend away but the babysitting is a bit up in the air as MIL has been ill....so if she's not up for it I'll come along

Might cheer me up as it was to be a last bid for freedom for a couple of years....

is it anywhere near the place we went to last time? I only ask because the greenpark bit had me stumped. I'll be coming from paddington (I'll have to buy a teddy on the platform for Bubba) I have my train ticket now

hey - I'm almost hoping the weekend does go to pants so I can meet up with you lot!!

I'll do it on a see what happens basis if that's OK. MIL is trying out a day today to see how it goes and then we'll see if she collapses from exhaustion and gets worse or survives the day.

I really would like a morning when my little (delightful) alarm clock doesn't get me up from a deep sleep.

If I do go will promise to return with blissful tales of spa experiences and hopefully gorgeous gamekeepers/masseurs.......

Argh!! the meet is really soon and I have no idea what the green park bit means. Is that a different part of piccadilly? somewhere different to last time. My train gets in in paddington - which tube line is it from there? I am rubbish at finding things in london you see but can navigate if I know what tube line I am hopping on and off of. Will check a map but if anyone can confirm for me. Cheers

Ok I have printed a map off now and my panick attack is over I hate feeling like a pregnant mammal and wandering off halfway down the wrong street just to turn around again. I think I have my journey planned now tentatively it says tube problems on saturday or something... isn't there always? Is Diverso next to something conspicuous? If it can be missed I'll miss it

The restaurant (according to this map -- and I accept no responsibility for map accuracy) is on Picadilly about 2 block from the Green Park Tube Stop. Come out of Green Part onto Picadilly and walk towards Hyde Park (NOT towards the Ritz).

I can;t tell you what it looks like or any other landmark because I've never been there. In fact, as far as I know, none of us has ever been there. If you don't find it, the restaurant phone number is 020-7491 2222.

I think there is something wrong with the CAT system - I am excepting CAT's and sent my number to you Uwila. I'll find the restaurant ok but if you see a rather beached whale like woman passing the window as you sit down to eat be sure to rush out after me I have no brain left these days... Hope to see you at 1pm or sometime after if I walk the wrong way...

I'm going to get the 8.30 train which gets me in at 12.15, as DP is going to drop me at the station on the way to work. Pink, give me a shout if you are on the same train - my mobile has wiped everyone's numbers so hopefully you've still got mine.

Scraggy I have your number still in my phone though my number has changed - I'm going from temple meads instead because I don't have to leave until 10.30 and it is nearer the house but the car park is a more expensive. I'll be getting into paddington at 12.30 I suppose you'll want to get going towards the restaurant? If you didn't mind waiting we could go over together its up to you. I'll text you in a while and you can say yay or neigh. Trains are never really on time anyway. Well I'll text and if you are still around the station later I could meet you.

Hello...not sure if anyone will sign in before the meetup...but I'm afraid I won't be able to come today

bloody plumbers!!!!!! Had a real nightmare yesterday...I think he had the opposite of the midas touch...everything he touched literally fell apart ...and the long and short of it is that he's going to have to come back today as we have no water at all, - and obviously I can't wait until next week to get it fixed, and knowing that I'm supposed to be out today dh kindly arranged a boys weekend away for him and ds and so they aren't here to deal with it all, arrrhhhhh!!
