Due in June '05 - London Meet 2

Uwila · 24/01/2005 16:33

Hi all, thought I'd put thi on its own thread rather than clutter up the Due in June (oh I mean "Jue") one.

I gather that April 2 is the preferred day. Is that good for everyone. As for a "quiet place". I think that's a good idea, but to be honest, I haven't a clue. Any suggestions?

Oh I am coming - however the thread had got so long and daunting I wasn't sure where to start. I haven't a clue where it is or anything but I'm coming

Diverso
Piccadilly
85 Piccadilly (Green Park)
London, W1

And the review copied from www.zagat.com:
?Molto Italiano, molto delizioso? applaud fans of the fare at this discreet, comfortable Green Park venue with rustic decor; ?grab a table by the window? and ?enjoy? a ?quiet dinner? (even as a ?solo diner on business trips?) whilst choosing from an ?above-average wine list?; but a handful of ?disappointed? visitors maintain it?s ?mediocre? and shrug ?why bother??

i was thinking of joining you but i'm going to take DH for a dirty weekend in the peaks instead!!

PinkArjuna · 09/02/2005 13:20

Good point scraggy I had not considered the unholy size of bump. I might have to arrange to stay with a friend.

teabelly · 09/02/2005 13:32

Katz!

katzguk · 09/02/2005 13:34

the peaks being a place not anything dodgy!!!!

mymum and dad have offered to have DD for the night so we can have one last night of freedom before the baby and it will be another 2/3years before we can!!

teabelly · 09/02/2005 14:04

Katz have a fun weekend...we regularly leave ds with my sis for a naughty weekend away...and then spend the whole time discussing him and missing him, typical!

katzguk · 09/02/2005 14:06

we've only had one DD free night since she was born and that was to attend the interment of DH's mums ashes!!! so really looking foward to it plus he doesn't know about it!

teabelly · 09/02/2005 14:10

Katz in that case I definitely hope you enjoy it more than the last one!!! Can your parents have dd & (new one too) more often - we try and get away at least 3 times a year, esp for our anniversary...but our anniversary is 4th June so we may have to put that one on hold this year!

katzguk · 09/02/2005 14:39

they probably would do if they lived nearer but if they come for the weekend then i want to see them too! its a 5 hr drive, they live near scraggy actually!!

teabelly · 09/02/2005 15:03

5 hrs - that's a long drive...maybe you'll have to try harder to persuade Lua to move to Sheffield - then perhaps she could babysit whilst you have naughty nights away, he he he!

Lua · 09/02/2005 15:18

I think we are highjacking this thread... But what the hell!

Katz - I would definetely be intersted in some babysitting bartering!

katzguk · 09/02/2005 15:24

lua you need to move to sheffield!!! then we can play swapsees my baby and 2 year old for yours!!

Scraggyaggy · 15/02/2005 08:18

Uwila - You have a wicked sense of humour! I assume we are all booked then? I have it written on the calendar so DP will no doubt be making plans to see all the hockey boys that weekend!

PinkArjuna · 28/02/2005 16:47

Ok I have the day down on my Calendar but can someone tell me exactly where we are meeting. To minimise trawling through the thread - I should have penned it down the first time through I also want to book my train ticket early - discount you see

PinkArjuna · 10/03/2005 14:14

Which line of the underground goes to greenpark?

uwila · 10/03/2005 15:12

Picadilly (from Heathrow, but it's a rather long tube ride)
Victoria (from Victoria station)
Jubilee (from Waterloo station)

Alternatively, do a google search on "london tube map"
