hurrah, welcmoe back petit hope all well with you

I have to admit have been shamefully absent these past few days damn RL work and friend commitments!

I have a scan next week too, next Wed if I remember correctly - will send you lots of positive thoughts

sazzles am not watching it as dc have only just gone to bed, we were out watering plants and mostly them so am now settled with laptop and packet of jaffa cakes

and TS am sorry but I can't offer as I have a thing re jaffa cakes, you'd have to prise them out of my cold dead hand - you can have my dh or dd1 or dd2 but not my jaffa cakes

doesn't excuse you though sazz hand out the choc!

PetitFilou1 · 06/05/2008 21:14

PS Is anyone else completely losing their marbles? I have forgotten to go round for coffee with my neighbour (damn damn damn - only other mum I know round here so far!), forgotten to ask both nurseries about childcare vouchers, put the icecream back in the fridge not the freezer etc etc My brain seems to have deserted me.

TwilightSurfer · 06/05/2008 21:17

Dizzy I understand you have issues about certain food items....no worries here.

Petitfilou I do that when I'm not pregnant so what does that say about me.

dizzydixies · 06/05/2008 21:18

dizzydixies · 06/05/2008 21:19

TS am glad no offence over my greed and unwillingness to share

TwilightSurfer · 06/05/2008 21:19

I'm going to have to get off line. I've downloaded one too many songs from iTunes....I'm suppose to be napping!!!! Anybody have the I AM SAM soundtrack? Seems I want the import version...I'm guessing it's a UK import.

Hello TS and dizzy
No-one is getting the cream and jam sponge that is sitting in the fridge off me either...
dizzy your scan is the day after mine so will bounce back your positive thoughts.
Off to buy some Summer mat tops as was way too hot today. Am fed up with my wrap ones though as they keep unravelling so going for the cheaper Blooming Marvellous option - except they don't seem to do skirts for some reason.

TwilightSurfer · 06/05/2008 21:25

Glad we're banning sharing this evening as I have strawberries & blackberries for dessert later. YUM!!

PetitFilou1 · 06/05/2008 21:28

Sazzles lol - handsfree baby monitor though... what is a non handsfree one like? I have never had mine permanently attached
Glad to see I am not the only one whose brain appears to have fallen down their nose when they last sneezed... Dh is despairing of me. However, at least I can say I do tend to remember where I last left my children and that I need to fetch them

dizzydixies · 06/05/2008 21:28

petit do you have a sainsburys near you? was in one today and they had some nice summer tops that went right up to a 22 which would house a bump very nicely?

dizzydixies · 06/05/2008 21:30

have just ordered this for dd2's birthday (as sponsored very kindly by grandparents)

will NOT be building it myself

am I mad?!?

HazieDazieandBaby · 06/05/2008 21:31

Apologies in advance for the major post, but remember I was on hols, so have a week?s worth to catch up on!

Oh firstly before I forget, with everyone talking about girls liking fancy pants, that reminded me of a story my mum told me! I was about 18mths old and was in town shopping with her. I saw what I apparently thought were the most amazing pants I?d ever seen ? they had a picture of dancing teddy bears on them and I thought they were great! She wouldn?t let me have them as I wasn?t potty trained yet (being only 18mths) so she told me to put them down. I went and sulked in my buggy and it wasn?t until we got home and she noticed a suspicious bulge in my pocket ? I?d nicked the pants!!! Thankfully, I?ve never had any further shoplifting tendencies but have a funny story to share now!

Glad you and bubs are fine now Miamla, that must have been so scary at the time though. You sound like you?re keeping positive which is really good- you need a medal! I?d have been a wreck! Oh and maybe the nasty nurse can only come out at night?! My DH and his family all have cute nicknames for each other and I got one too after about a year so really felt part of the family then! We?re calling the baby Button at the moment, not sure how he/she?d feel with that during their teen years!!

My 5 antenatal classes start at 35wks pregnancy1, although I?m going to the last class (b/f workshop) first at 34wks as when it comes round in my set of classes it?ll land on my due date (iyswim?), so don?t want to miss it out. If I?m still hanging around then, I?ll just do the class again!

Check you out being so brave over the spotting TS! I?d have run up to the hospital still dripping wet if that had been me! Hope you haven?t had any more spotting since then. I didn?t dare go near the hot tub on my hols even though it would have been okay for a short dip, I just dangled my feet in while DH relaxed! I?ve been having hip problems too but have a physio referral on Thursday so will see how that goes. Can your midwife arrange this for you too?

That recipe is legend longwayfromhome! My gran gave me that one when I was younger and it meant I could impress all sorts of people with my baking skills. I?d totally forgotten all about it! Time to get the apron on methinks!

Happy Birthday Dizzy! Hope you were spoiled rotten! I?m a bit at why you had your lady garden tidied for the upcoming wedding! Planning on going commando and falling over are you? There?s always one at these gatherings!!

One of my friends had her little girl yesterday and was in labour for 55hrs! Eeek! They?re both doing well so will get a visit arranged soon. I don?t want to bother her too soon though, so thought about waiting a couple of weeks, would that be the best idea? Just would hate the thought myself of being crowded so soon after going through all that.

Hope no-one has fallen asleep during my post! Although with all the tiredness some of you guys seem to have had, I wouldn't take it personally! xx

Ah girls, I wish you could have been at work with me this afternoon. I was reading the minutes of a meeting which our secretary had typed up and sent to us for checking. I don't believe I have ever read anything so comical in all my life. I was literally crying with laughter because they made NO sense whatsoever, literally just random words bullet pointed with random full stops thrown in for added bonuses. Still, I guess you had to be there to appreciate the beauty of it

sazzles and ts, I am with you in the old special club. I saw mw last week, after being told to book an appt for 25 weeks, only to hear the mw tell the student who was with her that the appt was made at mums request (ie. mine)! Pah. I didn't have the energy to correct her. I also think seeing her at 15 weeks then not again til 28 weeks is a little too long? Still, I am old special so will be having scans at 30 & 36 weeks in the 'small for gestational age' clinic (lol, same applies to me in rl being only 5'3"!). This is because ds1 was small at birth (5lb 7oz).

Anyway, the student mw measured fundal height at 23. This was after not being able to locate the fundal height on her own, and she still couldn't do it even after the mw held her hand on top of the fundus! So am not unduly worried by the 'scientific' technique employed on this occasion.

Enough about me - where's the chocolate?

evening Hazie and CC

Hazie - how was your holiday? are you all relaxed and pampered? lady garden HAD to go as it was trying to take over the world and as am wearing white linen trousers I would be completely paranoid lol

did I tell you all btw that my aunt sent me 330 to have my hair done on morning of wedding and mum sent me birthday money to have highlights done before wedding - am now convinced hair is shite looking and they're being polite about it

dizzydixies · 06/05/2008 21:38

sazz we have a weird garden on lots of different levels but are willing to sacrafice a bit of lawn to put this on, for selfish purposes as girls are dropping from 5 mornings a week at nursery to 3 in june when I go on matty and am hoping I'll just be able to chuck them out the back garden

TwilightSurfer · 06/05/2008 21:38

Captain, 23 is what I measured last week too.

Dizzy, we want to get one of those for DD but haven't the time to set it up.

Hazie, so glad your back. Hope is was EXCELLENT!! No, no spotting since that Sunday odd occurance. I've even felt pretty good today hip-wise.

dizzydixies · 06/05/2008 21:43

pmsl CC I wish, typo, meant £30 lol

CaptainCaveman · 06/05/2008 21:44
