ALBS I've had the community midwife inbetween and had all been well I wouldn't have been back up at the hosp until 35wks for my growth scan

I've got the community midwife inbetween now and next hosp again and no doubt GP will want me to check in as well

dizzydixies · 14/05/2008 17:06

conkertree what is this cinema you speak of?!? I haven't been since before dd1 in 2003

the sleeping I can do though, anytime, anyplace, anywhere

cyteen · 14/05/2008 17:38

Hi conkertree Great advice, once this move is out of the way I certainly plan on doing as much relaxing fun stuff as possible. How are you finding parenthood? Was last year's your first child?

dizzy great news about your scan and your friend's baby, if slightly tarnished by the poxy student loan peeps. They can be right chancers ime. Someone from the company that now 'owns' my debt once called me up to tell me to set up a direct debit; when I told him my deferral forms were in the post, he tried to demand an interim payment from me that they would then refund if my deferral was successful. Um, yeah right! Itchy beard, as we used to say at school. I told him to get stuffed

Am pmsl at all the doomed depilation attempts Think I'll be heading straight for a professional nearer the time - I'm having enough trouble shaving my legs as it is!

Further confusion over my maternity leave situation - my contract, which was due to end on 30th June, has now been extended to 30th September and apparently I need to contact HR for my revised annual leave entitlement So my dreams of leaving in June might be going up in smoke before they've even begun Aaargh, so complicated!

PetitFilou1 · 14/05/2008 18:52

Hooray for dizzy

at all your ladygarden depilation attempts. Just forget about it - Kim Cattrall doesn't wax you know and doesn't seem to have trouble attracting the fellas. Leg and armpit hair I agree needs to be dealt with.

albs I had an antenatal check at 25 weeks and not having another until post 28 weeks. I think the NICE guidance recommends less check ups these days. Wouldn't worry about it

TwilightSurfer · 14/05/2008 18:52

Sazzles sounds like you've gotten yourself into a sticky situation.

Great news Dizzy!! It's all down hill from here.

DD only has a week left of school until Summer break. That adds up to four classes. Soon I will be able to sleep in EVERY MORNING. {{Twilight dreams of snoring until noon.}}

Sazzles....SHHHHHHH....allow me to dream just a little while longer.

Well I had to go out and do some baby gear shopping after I found out my stroller (that I ordered a month ago) still has no delivery date. I found the same stroller in a different color. It's very pink but my DD jump up and down when she saw saying "THAT ONE! THAT ONE! THE BABY WANTS THAT ONE!" So we ordered that one...see here ( Joovy Tandem Stroller ).

I also found this lovely play yard/bassinet sleeper that will work perfectly for us. Here...(
Graco Pack-n-Play ).

AND, as if that wasn't enough, I also ordered the baby's car seat. I opted for a different color than I orginally wanted because the stroller color changed. See car seat here...( Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Car Seat ). This time around I got smart and ordered the second base for the car seat so it's easier to transfer the little tulip between mine and DH's vehicles. (that was such a PAIN with DD.)

I think that about wraps up the baby gear shopping for me. WHEW!!

DH would love that meal...(i don't eat fish). I don't like beer either but DH doesn't hold that against me.

I'm waiting on his reply about the PINK stroller now. He's a manly man so there's no telling what he'll say.

This is a really neat site about airline seating. Now you can figure out exactly what you need to know BEFORE you get on the plane.

Expectant · 15/05/2008 07:01

Hi All,

A while since last post but was back in the UK for 3 weeks and have only just caught up.Came back with rather overloaded bags full of stuff from over excited grandparents to be.

Had my last scan on Saturday and all was ok except I seem to be measuring rather large. I am not sure whether the baby is actually large as the gynae told me that I'm certainly not having an Asian baby (we're living in Singapore). DH is certainly reassured to hear this at least but I'm not really sure whether her charts mean that the baby is large by western standards or just by Asian standards. SIL had DS1 in Jan who was 9lbs3 so maybe I'm in for more of the same....

Buckets · 15/05/2008 08:06

Hi all
Thought I'd tell you about my mum's dream she told me the other day. She dreamt she met my new little boy in our garden sitting on a trike aged about 3 and he grinned and said 'hell Grandma.' She said he was calming down DD and chivvying DS along and seemed to be a really practical, kind little boy. It was a real struggle for me not to cry when she told me!

Buckets · 15/05/2008 08:15

Oops, that's 'hello Grandma' LOL, it wasn't an Omen-type dream.

cyteen · 15/05/2008 09:15

lol

I had a dream about giving birth last night although I seem to have blocked the details out as soon as I woke up...I do remember, however, that shortly after the baby was born (a girl - that's the second time I've dreamt I'm having a girl) I went out and drank two glasses of wine, completely forgetting that I was breastfeeding. Then I had to come back and shamefacedly tell the nurses, who tutted at me and told me I'd have to formula feed from now on. I felt a right failure, which is a bit of a swizz seeing as the baby isn't even here yet - I thought parental guilt was meant to start from birth.

TwilightSurfer · 15/05/2008 09:19

Buckets, glad you made the correction. Very different temperments with those two statements.

Expectant, I bet he was going by Asian standards. He probably doesn't have a lot of non-Asian patients to compare you with.

It's FOUR IN THE MORNING here!!! DD woke crying. I went in to console her. She fell back asleep BUT seems I'm STARVING so sitting in the kitchen now eating cheese with crackers & drinking a coke while the baby practices kickboxing. Anybody having problems finding a good position these days? I just feel HUGE. It doesn't even feel good to be on all fours. ARRRGGHHHH! How many more weeks?? I did some math last night (a few hours ago) and determined DD took 268 days to bake (conception to birth). If this one takes the same time to bake, I'll be cooking till 20th of August. OMG!! That's ALL SUMMER LONG!! {{{Twilight pops one last piece of cheese in her mouth and wonders if folks thinks she's odd for knowing both of her conception dates.}}}

Be Back Later.....................

LOL Sazzles. Numbers do give me comfort...until I screw them up.

Feeling like death at the moment. Waking up early then going back to sleep might not have been a good idea. OH MY and to think there will be a lot of that going on in a few months. GOOD-BYE SANITY.

Saw the midwife again this morning and all is well BP normal, GTT results normal, and Mr Squid was putting on a fine performane kicking and wriggling in there - we had another chase round my tummy with the doppler She's going to do my MATB1 today, which means I'm another step closer to actual maternity leave! Just need to find out what the hell is going on with my holiday entitlement now.

Shazza2002 · 15/05/2008 13:54

That's good news cyteen. I had GTT on Tuesday and haven't heard anything so presuming all ok. Have been having BP checked fortnightly and so far it's been fine which is good. Off to docs shortly actually.

Hope everybody else is ok. Very tired this week, but think that's combination of weather and coming back from holiday. Apart from that all ok xx

dizzydixies · 15/05/2008 13:58

great news cyteen and shazza

am tired today too but dh kept me awake (after bladder woke me up) with his heavy breathing, he wasn't even snoring bless him, then fell back asleep and we all slept in till 8.30 and were woken up by the bloke banging on the door trying to deliver the skip!!

needless to say dh and I have been dragging stuff from the shed out to the skip all morning as well as having a carpet delivered - will be in my bed by 6pm tonight BUT for the fact am off to hosp to visit friends new baby who has been named Rocco!

she already has his photos up on facebook although I have to presume she is still in hosp as she had a c/s yesterday
