OMG I missed out on some wonderful wedding chatter. You ladies do know how to have a wedding. CASTLES!! How cool is that!! Hazie, LOVE the shot. It's just so grand. DH & I flew to Las Vegas. No family. No friends. No hassles. No headaches. I've graced my profile with two pictures from that crazy trip....soon to be eleven years ago.

Hi Pertelote. Nice toes. Glad you popped in for an update.

Hey, those are great wedding photos TS! and Elvis. Very cool! It looks like it was a lovely celebration. I have a wedding photo on line here I think that it was a bit more traditional! Oh and we sang Jerusalem, Be thou my vision, All my hope on God is founded and Tell out my soul - so no Christmas carols for us! Right, off to bed.

longwayfromhome · 07/05/2008 02:50

Oooh, Hazie, have just had a look at your wedding photos too. Wow! they look amazing, and very Scottish, with kilts and castles!

Buckets · 07/05/2008 08:09

So jealous of the Elvis wedding, we smacked ourselves round the head when we went to Vegas on our honeymoon. Our big meringue doo was so not us.

Leg cramps - flex your foot when it happens, try to make your toes reach your knees.

3hr autism interview/questionnaire thingy with psychologist about DS this morning, pooing my pants that I will screw it up somehow. Feels like we're auditioning to get him a disorder . Feel very sorry for single parents going through this though, don't know what I'd do without DH.

Lots happened on here last night - so I'll do a brief catch up:
Buckets loads of luck with your meeting. Hope you get the help ds needs.

Dizzy castles, expensive hair dos.. you live the life don;t you

Sazzles At least your dd goes back to bed after an early start!!!! At the age mine is at, when she's up early she'd up for the day, and is just grumpy later on.

Hazie glad you ahd a good hol! Re your friend's baby. I don;t thik it's wierd using GAbreiella. Even if she had used the same form I don't think it matters. Esp as, as you say, you don't see her that ofren. We quite like Gabriella now too actually.

Petitfilous welcome back!! Glad the move went well.

Hmm - not sure what else to say now. lol. Was going to go over the church, the old ladies' mid week service but I cna't be bothered. Will stay on MN then get on with the housework.

TwilightSurfer · 07/05/2008 11:22

Longway, that's a beautiful photo. I think I would have liked a traditional wedding but life threw me a curve ball and I played it as I saw. Going to weddings is a favorite of mine. All the pomp.

Buckets, fingers crossed for you and your DS. No matter what ALL WILL BE WELL!

alittlebitshy · 07/05/2008 13:03

longwayfromhome lovely photo!!!!! Georgeous drss and gorgeous you (and I see you have the same name as me - good choice longway's mummy!!)

Our wedding was a mix of traditional and individual. As you can guess it was in church - and it was taken by John Sentamu (archbish. york now - he was dh's area bishop then) which was AMAZING. We chose to have totally modern music though and we put togther a music group made up of various friends of ours (from memory there were keyboards, guitars, drums, a sax) to lead the worship. We chose to have a lot of songs in there, and more readings than normal - and it was a long service for a wedding (esp bearing mind that we didn't have communion as we might have done, cos I'm not baptised, let alone confirmed ) - but it was totally planned by us - we put the actual marriage bit AFTER the sermon, partly so that latecomers didn;t miss the whole marriage bit, but also to keep people's attention. Then we had photos in the park and a sit done buffet followed by a ceilidh in a un-consescrated church in the city! Ah - memories!!

I think that I'll have a few days old baby on our 6th anniversary this year - assuming the section happens when they suggested it might.

Been doing housework and franticly making lists of stuff i ned to do/get done/buy before baby comes. argh!!!!

Off to make some lunch then come back and MN. Lovely!

IlanaK · 07/05/2008 16:40

Just checking in after a couple of busy days. GP appointment yesterday to declare me "fit" and write me a letter so I can get on my flight on Saturday (off to Austria to a Kinderhotel for a week!).

Today I had an appointment at antenatal clinic at hospital for anti-d injection. Very painful! Also, midwife was concerned as I am measuring 33 weeks at only 28 weeks. I told her not to worry as I have had this with previous pregnancies. But she sent me right away for an ultrasound which showed exaclty what I thought it would - baby exactly the right size for 28 weeks. She also wanted to refer me to a special clinic for women whose BMI is high - I politely refused

So I have a couple of days to get ready for the holiday (It's also my birthday the day we leave) and then when I come back I have to move (refurbishments in my building). Busy busy busy!

Oh, and by the way, I am typing this while sitting in my new duttalier nursing chair which finally arrived today after a 9 week wait For anyone considering one - it is sooooooo comfortable!

Hope everyone is ok and the weather is as good for all of you.

TwilightSurfer · 07/05/2008 18:06

Sazzles I have the same problem with my laptop screen when in the yard BUT if I'm on the porch where I'm given a bit of shade it's not as bad. These screens were just not made for the out of doors.

IlanaK glad all is going well for you and despite the reason you scored another ultrasound of littleIlanaK. Best wishes on a wonderful holiday & birthday.

For the record: If I disappear suddenly please don't worry. Just received word my grandmother is passing. Things could progress quickly and it happen this evening or horribly slow and take longer. We hope it is quick. It will be a four hour trip one-way whenever it happens and will likely put me out of internet reach for a few days. I just didn't want anyone to worry.

Speaking of worry...has anyone heard from LadyofWaffle today? She was concerned about her baby's movement (or lack there of). Are things okay?? LadyofWaffle I'm hoping all is well.

dizzy we really like the name theodore so we're trying not to let it put us off! I believe packing the casserole dish was truly inspired! we had such a lovely meal at frankie and benny's last night! And DP has been shopping today so we've got a brand new casserole dish AND because he's home before me, he's going to start dinner off! I am indeed a very lucky girl!
I'm completely with you on the jaffa cake thing! Mum used to buy a double box when we were kids. one of my brothers and I quickly worked out that the best thing to do was take a box each and munch them all before the other two got home from school! DB is still the same with them as well!
That climbing frame looks v cool! when can we all come round to play?!
I'd take the hint about your hair if i were you and pop to the hairdressers! I suspect i need to do the same, haven't been in a long time but i'm trying to leave it as close to having baby as possible so i'll look half decent for the photos!

albs i wouldn't worry about the child abuse angle of drinking coke because if you are, I am too! At least your DH says you don't look fat. Mine told me yesterday that yes my thighs are huge now. Not that i'd encourage him to lie to me but stretching the truth just a little bit would have been nice!
Looks like we're not doing the tour this weekend either, DP can't make it. so we're aiming for the 18th May now
your wedding day sounds amazing!

hi petit, welcome back to the world of MN. Yup, absolutely lost my marbles completely much to the delight of my work colleagues!

hazie hiya, good to see you back too! 55hours??? oh my goodness!! I'm definitely not ordering one like that!

CC aah bless! you're only 5'3"? you're pocket sized (in the nicest possible way!) I'm a positive giant compared to you at 5'10"! DP is 6'7"! I suspect our baby's not going to be short!

TS v pleased to hear you've had no more spotting. Sorry to hear about your grandmother, my thoughts are with you all x x

pertelote another old face to welcome back! hiya, no, not on ravelry, never heard of it! give me a clue.... i'm waiting til we've exchanged before I book NCT so may or may not end up on the same ones as you, i'll let you know!

buckets how did you get on today with DS?

sazzles v jealous at the thought of you lounging in your garden! from the sounds of it, I need to pop into Sainsburys on my way home! I realised this morning that all the clothes that fit are winter wear so i'm absolutely cooking at work today!

Thanks for your kind comments on my photo girls! I could hardly get out the door this morning between my big belly and even bigger head!

Sorry to hear about your grandmother TS, thinking of you just now.

at dizzy with your Christmas carols!! I?m so jealous, that?s really cool. I would have preferred that as there aren?t any hymns that I like as much as Christmas carols, they?d have been easier to pick I think.

I?m glad you like Gabriella too alittlebitshy! I was worried that I?d have to find another name which is a shame as it took us ages to come up with that and we love it.

Hope everything went well with your meeting today Buckets.

Sounds like things are going good for you ilanak. Well, apart from the injection and cheeky m/w! So of your chair, they?re lovely and I would love one, but we?ve no room unfortunately!! I always have a little go on it in Mothercare though so that I can get my fix And yay for your hols! Not long now.

I agree Miamla, I really wish she hadn?t told me about the 55hrs! At least it?s all worth it in the end!

HazieDazieandBaby · 07/05/2008 19:37

Oh, and I love your wedding pics longwayfromhome and TS! You both looked amazing on your big days!

HazieDazieandBaby · 07/05/2008 19:40

Last one!!! The wedding dress that she's wearing is gorgeous dizzy! Ah, wish I could do it again, with DH included again obviously!

pertelote · 07/05/2008 19:51

TS sorry to hear about your grandmother. Hope you're all ok.

Hi Miamla, it's www.ravelry.com - the second best way to waste time online after Mumsnet . There's a bit of a waiting list but worth waiting I think: I'm not very chatty/joiny (had you guessed?!) so don't much use the forums etc, but I love being able to search for free patterns and see what other people have done with them.

Love the wedding stories: everyone's photos are gorgeous, as of course I would expect! We got married last Easter - in fact, eleven months ago today! Very tiny registry office ceremony, then a big lunch at St John Smithfield (that's a restaurant not a church!) with our friends singing and the best food ever. Not very traditional but very, very, us.

dizzydixies · 07/05/2008 20:19

evening all, just a quickie from me as have done far too much today and feel like an idiot for it.

was up at 6am, hoovered/mopped the whole of downstairs as well as several loads of washing and cleaning windows etc, the swimming lesson and friends back all afternoon and a bbq

dh held on at work but back in nick of time to bath kids and put them to bed thank goodness as am now officially shattered!

am pmsl at the fact you think this castle jaunt is the norm for us, we're only getting to go as the stay is being sponsored by maw and paw dixie bless them! I am looking forward to having my hair done though as its been tooooooooo long since last time

pertelote lovely to see you, glad you're well

hazie the dress is lovely but she is such a numpty am tempted to take a duvet cover to put over her whilst she is eating

TS am sorry to hear about your gran. take it easy if you do have to do the journey though

where in vegas did you get married? we went for dh's 30th birthday but I was of course 10wks pregnant with dd2 so couldn't enjoy all the frivolitites

miamla I love it too, gives endless possibilites for nicknames too with Theo, Ted, Teddy etc am so jealous of your height am only f506 AND A HALF (agree with sazzles that its very important to add the half) my brother is 6ft8 and a half and married a five foot wonder which is hysterical

IlanaK re holiday and re lovely new chair!

buckets hope it all went well today and not too drawn out

right girls I REALLY am pooped so sorry if I missed anyone

dizzydixies · 07/05/2008 20:22

and did I mention that am having a RL night out tomorrow?!?!?? my boss has moved on so we're all going out for dinner at 7.30 - if am as pooped as I am today I'll be asleep with my face in the started but will at least be out at nightime

CaptainCaveman · 07/05/2008 21:42

Ahhh, sitting down at last! Just finished the last of the ironing! Yay, dining room table is now clear and we shall leave a tidy house behind when we go on hols in 36 hours time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LWFH I have been humming Tell Out My Soul all day since reading your post. I LOVE that hymn.

We got married in 1999, about 18 months before I became a Christian so the hymns didn't mean as much then to me as they do now. We had a church wedding and a FAB time though

'Jerry' has been kicking and twirling around all day today. It felt a bit like he was doing star jumps in there.

Ooooh, have you tried peppermint and licquorice tea? So divine. I probably mentioned this a couple of weeks ago when I first found them, but if you ever get the chance to try a '15 minutes organic tea' then don't hesitate. Yummy!

miamla by golly you are tall! I am a whopping 164cm. I do believe ALBS may be a little smaller than i though??

forgot to mention, boobs have now gone up to an F cup. Dh is delighted

Yeah Captain I'm with Sazzles, how do you keep your house clean for 36 hours while you are actually IN IT? That's a secret I'd LOVE to know. Have a safe trip and give me a ring if you want/need anything.

Dizzy of night out and all the work you accomplished today.

Thanks for all the nice words. My grandmother's passing is not/will not be a sad event. She's been ill for years and honestly in my mind she's been gone for a VERY long time.

Baby movements have been muted today. Either she's resting or just not interested in kicking the crap out of me now. Remember I said I was getting 10+ kicks in a minute. Now it's significantly less kicks in a longer time span. I'll not worry over that at the moment since I'm scheduled to see the doc on Friday. I'll just add that too my list of things to bombard him with before he goes on maternity leave (his wife's Csec is next MOnday).

Hope everyone is sleeping tight. I bet Captain's too excited to sleep.

Yup - cavey you;re right, with your inside knowledge of my jeans sizing (jeans too small now, can't get over my more substantial arse ). I am 5ft2 and a half. Does that make me the smallest on teh thread??? Dh is 6ft - which is how we ended up with a 9lb9oz dd via c-sec lol.
