Then er... I has.. erm... oooo Tootie Fruities!!!

Aha!!

ThePFJ · 17/04/2008 19:11

-does not submit to your torturous ways-

-cough-

Scampmum · 17/04/2008 20:19

Ah, PFJ, great to hear you sounding back to yourself!

In terms of preening, I have also had my legs and armpits waxed. Turns out I am hard as nails because I didn't even wince when she did my pits! And now I won't have to do anything to them for four weeks, which is lucky because I remember it was difficult navigating round the extra bits of boob last time!

Right, where's the choc, then? Is anyone else desperate for one of those Mayan Magnums that Eva Longoria is pimping on telly? I have eaten LOADS today - choc croissant, pitta, leftover chinese, massive plate of egg and chips, lots of chocolate fingers (went to a friend's and she put them on a plate so I had to 'save' DD from eating them all... )

PortAndLemon · 17/04/2008 20:46

Congratulations elfsmumm, and welcome mommylongsocks!

PFJ, glad to hear you sounding more like yourself again.

Scorpio will definitely have the baby this weekend while out of internet contact...

Anyone heard from VS? She had been hoping to be out of hospital in 24 hours, so I hope everything is OK...

scorpiohasstillnothadbaby · 17/04/2008 20:47

oh dh rang sky and we will only be off for a day in about 14 days so will have deffo had millie then

VictorianSqualor · 17/04/2008 21:15

I'm back!
why did no-one remind me how much CS stitches FUCKING HURT?
and how much uterus contractions whilst feeding FUCKING HURT?
and how much being in hospital FUCKING SUCKS?
ugh.
I had to self-discharge cos I had a temp, a temp of 37.5 wow!

Alex is massive, great feeder, my milk finally came in today and he's knackered after each feed.
The paed doc said his head size is a record
39cms!
Thank fuck he was born by CS.
I swear my anaesthatists had wings under their scrubs, so it was a CS, and not what I wanted but they made it great, and DP did too, it was amazing.

Pics up soon, I'll do my proper birth story tomorrow.

xxxxxxxxxxxx

scorpiohasstillnothadbaby · 17/04/2008 21:17

glad you are ok, i guess it will hurt but you sound very positive iyswim

oh yes, im sure you would of had a tear to deal with....

VictorianSqualor · 17/04/2008 21:19

The surgeon reckons she was getting him out whther it was by EL CS or EM CS. He's not even long, just wide so would have been ripped to shreds.
Now will you hurry up and have Millie please.

(I have a pic of Alex next to heat mag to show how big he is, he is twice the size!)

scorpiohasstillnothadbaby · 17/04/2008 21:20

lol, he sounds big!!

Well i had a sweep yesterday and nothing much different, feel crampy tonight but thats normal for me iyswim. am 41 weeks tomorrow!!!

PortAndLemon · 17/04/2008 21:20

Congratulations VS! Welcome back...

scorpiohasstillnothadbaby · 17/04/2008 21:20

are your dc thrilled?

Scampmum · 17/04/2008 21:21

YAY! You're back and OK. Congratulations. Good old Alexander for ignoring all your efforts, looking at your pristine cervix from the inside and thinking 'no, I can't do it to her'.

Can't wait to see pics. Glad he's such a good feeder.

I am irritable as hell this evening. Is that a Sign?

scorpiohasstillnothadbaby · 17/04/2008 21:22

i'm going to bed in a min Scampmum - cannot cope with the muderous thoughts, lol!

Scampmum · 17/04/2008 21:23

Scorpio, I can't believe you're a week late with your third! People keep saying 'oh, you'll be earlier this time than with Poppy' and I think, but Scorpio...

scorpiohasstillnothadbaby · 17/04/2008 21:24

i know, i cannot believe i am 41, yes 41 friggin weeks friggin pg tomorrow!!!!

Scampmum · 17/04/2008 21:25

You may not be... maybe Millie will be at the end of the bed when you wake up?

VictorianSqualor · 17/04/2008 21:27

Scorpio, of she don't come it might be because she is rather large

The DC's love him to pieces. He looks like he should ist up by himself though and play lego with them

ThePFJ · 17/04/2008 22:16

Wow VS... you have my TOTAL sympathy.
Really really.

On another note... one of my breasts is really huge, its lumpy and the lumpy bit is firm and really hurts to touch. I think I need to call MW about this. What do you girls think? Am I being paranoid??

-offers sweets and cake-

PortAndLemon · 17/04/2008 22:25

Sounds like a blocked duct. Best approach -- feed on that side (if you can manage it, point DS's chin towards blocked duct, apparently, but don't worry if that would involve serious gymnastics), then have hot shower, direct plenty of hot water at affected bit and massage blocked duct towards nipple, then feed on that side again. Repeat feeding/shower combination as required (do feed on the otherside as well, though, or you may end up with a blocked duct on that side as well).

Talk to MW but worth talking to BFC as well. If it goes red or you develop a temperature it's likely to have developed into mastitis and you should get to the GP.

chipmonkey · 17/04/2008 22:50

Congratulations, elfsmummy! Will add your bundle to the list!
Will add you to the other list mommylongsocks!

ThePFJ · 17/04/2008 22:52

ThePFJ · 18/04/2008 01:05

I just used my breast pump on the problem boob and got a big bottle full. Seems to be a little less tender.. and since me and Jack aren't the greatest of BF-er's I feel so much better about giving him that next feed, because at least I know he'll be getting plenty.

He's still very sucky/chompy baby though so I am on make-sure-the-baby-doesnt-spit-out-the-dummy-until-he-falls-asleep duty now.
Can't wait for him to fall asleep as I am officially pooped.

xxx

northeastmummy · 18/04/2008 08:26

Welcome back VS! It sounds like everything definitely worked out for the best . Sounds like you're in the best place now - at home with your family.

Can't wait to see your photos!

Has anyone who is due or overdue noticed a huge reduction in movement from LO? Mine is still doing some very vague, almost indetectable movements, but hardly anything at all. I thought about phoning my MW this morning but then saw my tummy move so am leaving it for now.

I know they're supposed to slow down a bit nearer the birth but it seems so dramatic. I didn't get to this stage last time.

VictorianSqualor · 18/04/2008 08:49

PFJ, I'll say more later, Alex needs a feed, but remember every feed you give Jack is wonderful,(read this) so try not to think how much formula he is getting but as each breastfeed as a brucey bonus, k?

Also second what PAL says, blocked duct, call the mw incase she suggests some meds and then the bfc's in. The numbers are on my profile, get some help now and you may end up finding the rest of BFing a breeze, leave it too long and you'll just feel shit and stop.

You're doing great so far, many other women stop as soon as they realise it might get hard, you haven't so stick in there and call someone (breastfeeding numbers on my profile, they'll put you in contact with a local counsellor who can help you with your latch etc).

Oh, and you can take codeine&paracetamol/co-codamol, I'm taking it now. I think it's ibruprofen you're meant to avoid whilst BFing, certainly not codeine, I've had it every time.
